Caller said I had two fraud check charges and to call him at this number.... I have not checks...  Scam/Fraud Caller...
This is a New York area code.. I am in Alabama.

 Same as others.....caller said 2 fraud check charges but I rarely write checks and all the ones I have written have cleared the bank long ago..What is there to do to stop these thieves?

I received the same call today from the Texas number. Funny how with all of us they're calling, it's 2 fraudulent checks. Guess it's easier for them to remember the lie if they use the same one with everyone. These companies use scare tactics (we're sending the police, you're going to jail). I had one guy tell me his company worked with the state. Attorney General's office to track down people who have committed (in his words) payday loan cheque fraud. So I asked him to hold for a moment and when I went back to him, I had the attorney generals office conferenced in and specifically the dept that regulated payday loan companies for my state. I asked him to restate who he was, the company he represented and all he'd told me to the atty general rep...he got to stuttering and back-peddling...finally he hung up and I've never heard from him again. Ask for detailed company info and don't give them any of yours....they'll stop.

Caller ID showed they called from 917-284-9371 NY but they left thie number above for me to call them back regarding 2 bad checks in my name & with my social security number.  I don't write checks, so I deleted the message.

They called using 218-213-0783 from duluth, mn..same check fraud story

I called the no# 646 569 9037 how do they do business if you cant call them back on the number they give you i have one not available 0000000012 and the next is  cypress TEXAS 281 213 0783 my ssn has been stolen so I dont know these people AND Don care because I CANT CALL EM BACK

The caller states there have been two (2) pending check charges filed against my name and Social Security #, that it was a very serious, urgent and impartive that I contact their office today. They could be reached @646-569-9037 and anyone in the legal processor in their office.  Caller didn't state what company he was with nor identify himself.  This is not the number I received the call from it was 281-213-0783
My identity has been stolen.  I do not owe anyone any money for writing a fraudulent check.

They have been calling my Cell # and Work # harassing me that I have two fraudulent check charges against me also.  That it was very serious and that I need to call them back.  I owe nothing to anybody..They say to call the 646-569-9037 number back, when you do call it disconnects.  I also have received calls from the 281-213-0783 several times also.

SCAM...They want your information.  Do bot it it to them.  I called them back and they could not tell me anything until I gave them my SS#, which I did not do.  They keep calling back with the same message. They should be reported!

I write bad checks all the time but the only people who call me is the bank. I knew it was a scam!

Received the same two check fraud message on my voice mail.  Original caller id number was 281-213-0783 reverse phone look-up shows this number is in Texas.... the call back number 646-569-9037 is in New York!!!  Better Business Bureau doesn't show a business for either number.....Hmmm

Just received the same call from 281-213-0783, told I had 2 pending checks fraud charges under my name and social security number.  I needed to call them back at 646-569-9037.  Glad I googled this number.  I received these calls and then they go away for a while.

The message they left states about 2 fraudulent checks and wanting my social security number.  Sounds way too fishy

I received the very same call yesterday. They did not indicate a name of who they were looking for. I knew I hadn't written any bad checks so I called back because there are others who live in my household and when I did it went to a fast busy signal.  I decided to google the number and read the posts. I wouldn't give anyone any information as I know all too well the scams that are out there. I'm sorry some people don't realize.  

actually got a call from (281) 213-0783 out of Texas telling me to call the 646 number.  When I tried to call that number it wouldn't go through.  AND then someone named Ms. Cruz called my work and left a message with a case number and told me to call (201) 301-1638.  When you call that number it says it cannot be completed as dialed.  

Definitely a scam in my opinion.  Just said i had 2 pending check fraud charges under my name and social security #.  Never identified themselves or specifically used my name.  Anybody doing anything involving "legal matters" is going to tell you their name and agency or law firm they work with.

I'm guessing it's an automated dialing system. Didn't call them back because of all these posts. So thank you all for posting. This saved me and a lot of other people a lot of time.

They claim to be "Legal Processing Services" The # of 646-569-9037 does not connect.  I hit redial on the # that showed on caller id and it is one man that answers.  The message they had left on my voicemail was that fraudulent checks were being written in  my name.  I don't even write checks.  I told him the # he was trying to reach someone at was a business phone and they don't say who they are leaving the message for.  I also tried to have him look up an account via the phone # they were calling to leave me messages and he got argumentative and hung up.  What a crock

Did not leave a company name or his name.  Can we turn this in for harrassment charges?

A real collection company will not call and threaten to put you in jail.  That is illegal practices and you can have debts discharged for this.

I got this also. They have called twice and left two different phone numbers. I am reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission.

I am truley an idiot-in the last week i have had calls from a bunch of numbers the first two i called back and they got a total of $700 from me-i cant even afford groceries and i paid these a-holes cause they scared me-now all the scum is comimg out of the woodwork with the same crap-ill go to jail if i dont pay-well put me im jail cause now i'm broke and i'm not giving anyone another dime. I'm sick to my stomach over this and i can't get them to stop calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could threaten them with something so they will move on and now i may just change my number-
they said i owed mony from 2011 from SSM Group and My Cash Now-i have never taken a loan from these companies and My Cash Now isnt even a lender-its a company that finds lenders

This number just called and said fraudulent charges had been made to my account anf they needed my aocial security number to verify and to call this number as it was very important.  I thought it was very suspicious and googled the number, hence here I am.  Thank you for this web site.

*67 before you dial the number...call them and have a little fun....they are scum that want you to give them your Name, SS#, banking info....etc etc....I plan on calling them every chance I get....

Just got a call from this number - they left a message - indicating that they are looking for me on 2 fraudulent check charges under my name and social security number - says I need to call back because it's a very serious legal matter.  I hit delete because I know that I haven't written a bad check

Scam, don't reply no matter what they say.  They will try to get your social security number and bank information.
