Trying the scam with me too! Had a listing on KSL...He said: I'm seriously interested in buying it and I think that is a fair asking price. I will be paying $70 (which is more than the asking price) I'll take it but first thing first I want to let you know that trust is business so its will be cool if we trust each other in starting of this business my name is Mr Dave Andrew I am from Denver Co, but am currently in camp as military seer instructor for new recruits. I however squeezed out time to check this posting as all personal dealings are...at this point I checked the internet for his number.

I got a message from this number asking for my final price on a digital camera. I told him/her to call me if he/she wanted more information. I haven't heard back, so I'm betting it's the same scammer.

Got text from 16465718357 on 9-19-12 this person is still up to same trick. Saying that is a marine engineer.So glad that I looked up the number.

Got a call 09-17-12 from this number stated that he was going to buy my motorcycle for his son and to give me my PayPal account number to make payment. He told me he was a marine engineer  and he was at sea and this was to be a surprise for his son. I got suspicious when he wanted to pay $800.00 over the price of the bike to pay his shipping co-ordinator to Ship the motorcycle. The motorcycle was only listed for $1,200.00. I called pay pal immediately. My ad was also on Craig's List and I asked that they phone or text their interest.

I just got text from this number after posting sale on Craigslist.  This time, he claims that he is "a marine and try to buy for his son".  Good thing that I found this post.  Thanks for sharing and would like to contribute the content of the text as well.

Got a text from him saying he was fine with the price. Wanted my PayPal email to deposit money. Told him to call me but only texted me. Got suspicious, looked up number and found this message board. Thanks for posting these messages.

Wanted to buy my chairs on Craigslist. Asked to pay through paypal and wanted me to help pay shipping.

I posted $1000 recliner on Craigslist. I got text from this phone number.  He wanted me to use PayPal and he was willing to pay asking price and add another $500 for shipping. He sent my PayPal I'd saying he had posted the money. But he hadn't.  He sent another long email looking like it was PauPal instructions.  The tip off was that the English was very poor and it didn't make sense.  We called PayPal to alert them and they told us it was a scam.  We sent the emails to PayPal so their fraud unit can investigate further. I replied to the text that we knew he was scammer and not contact us again.

Got a text message also after posting on craigls list furniture sale.  646-571-8357 this is a scam!

Received the usual Nigerian scam response but as text messages from this number. I too have an item for sale on Craigslist. The scammer is asking for my Paypal email address so they can pay me more than my asking price for my item, plus an extra $100 shipping. I asked where they want me to ship the item to, and they replied "to my sons schooling in West Africa".

Posted something on Craigslist.  I detailed Cash sale only and contact me by phone or email.  I got a text message from this number.  They wanted to pay me more than my asking price plus $100 shipping but wanted to pay by Paypal.  Was asking for my Paypal email address so they could send the money.   Yeah-right!
