Just got a text from this number regarding a car in Simi Valley. Stopped texting when I asked for an email.

Received an inquery into a utility trailer I have for sale for $800. They said they were buying it for thier Step-Dad and that the would love to come by and pay cash but they couldn't because of the nature of thier job and asked for my full name, address and email. Sounds like a scam.

Just got a message from the same number.. Wanting to buy a bed in Washington state for his step dad.  It's a scam.  I told him I was forwarding the message to the police.

actually..this is going on with me right now..... 7/2/13.  I'm trying to sell a car.  Text...is trying to buy for his fil... wanting to know if it will make a good gift...

background is in the craigslist ad.  The car doesn't run!  

I offered western union... he said only option is bank check.  
I get the same responses about work limiting him to texts

I JUST received the exact message too from this number. A surprise gift for father-in-law, can't come because of nature of job, want my info, etc...
I reported that whole text to craigslist so we will see what happens.

He goes by the name JuIius Fish,  I just got a text message saying the EXACT SAME THING.  IT'S A SCAM.    Why would he pay for furniture and plan on sending it to New York! He mentioned it was a gift for his father-in-law, that he couldn't call because he was hearing-impaired and that if I sent him my info he would pay inmediately.  He couldn't come to see the furniture because of the "nature of his job"  using the same exact phrases and words.  People please be careful and don't trust him.

I got the same message from a craigslist add asking if it would make a good gift.  They couldn't come see it because of the nature of their job but wanted my e-mail address, full name and address so they could process payment immediately.  I'm glad I didn't give out any info!

This number texted in middle of night(1:30am) wanting to buy large furniture that I advertised in NYC area . . . asking if it would make a good gift?  Can not come see it but wants to pay immediately.  Asking for my email address although has not given any personal info of their own, not even a name.  Says cannot come see it due to job, want to purchase as gift for father in law.
Total scammer, trying to do identity theft.  Supposedly this is a land line that is connected to and address in NYC on West 57th street.

Just got a reply from the same phone number, asking our $900 dining room set would make a good gift.
Claimed they would like to make paymenti right away, wanting email address.  They could not come see the set due to the nature of their job.  We searched on the number via the internet due to the suspicious nature of the call.

Got a text on an ad from CL.  It read "Do you think this...would make a good gift".  That seemed suspicious as I am in Ca.  And why ask me if it would make a good gift....

Just received a text message regarding a Craigs List ad I had placed.  The number was 646 571 8839 asking if this Craig's List item would make a good gift?  I am in Washington state this is New York???

Just got a response for a tempur pedic bed i am selling; obvious scam. - - it's a Google Voice #

thanx people....I was curious about the area code because they were answering an ad on craigslist...so I found this site and wow ....this site just saved me a huge headache....just texted them that the item was sold...

Also got texted regarding a listing on Craigs List.  I offered paypal / google pay, but they want to send a check.  I informed them that the only other option was to pay in person.

Got the same situation.  Trying to buy a furniture set from me on Craigslist.
