called me with same story from 646583-0840 Jay Smith then had someone pretend to be police call me saying they were coming to arrest me from a my.preceint number

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

No you are not loosing your mind. They called my job and my boss answered the phone and she gave me the message but she said that the guy was very rude to her to be a lawyer.  So I called the number and ask to speak to a Mr. Mark and the man on the phone gave me another number which is 646-583-2857 and ask for a Ron Baxter and when I call he told me that I owned for a payday loan which called Advance a l  owe $5,000 dollars and if I don't pay by Friday or bring my lawyer to court then they were going to have the police come to my job or to my house to arrest me. When I was trying to ask him a questions he told me not to interrupt him and he was reading off a lot of info on me but some of it was wrong. I asked him do he has a fax number or better yet he can fax me theses so called court papers he had on me so that my lawyer can look at them and then got mad and said pay the money you f**king b**ch and I said wow this is how lawyers talk these days and he then said you think this is funny then I will have the cops at your job to arrest you and your azz will be going to jail. I told him if he don't fax me proof so my lawyer's can look at them he then said f**k you and hung up. I waited 10 minutes and I had my sister to call the number he didn't answer the phone and about the third call he answered and said hitch don't call this phone anymore. So the next day I tried both numbers and they were disconnect. So I Alert all three of the credit bureau just in case and I file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. So do anyone knows any other steps I need to take?

I received a phone call this morning from "Nick Johnson" wanting to speak to an employee of mine.  He had a heavy Indian accent and said he was calling regarding a lawsuit that my employee has against him.  I told him my employee wasn't allowed to receive personal calls at work at which point he gave me the number 646-583-2541 for him to call back.  I told him I would give him that message and I had seen posts regarding this on the internet where it's a scam and I would also be happy to pass it along to our PA state police.  He said "Oh God" then I hung up on him.

scam says we owe for a checking loan for 2011 545.  then 1000.

This Nick Johson keeps calling stating owe for a payday loan and if I don't pay they will press charges against me and it will be a fraud cause they said I stole the money from them how can you still money from a pay day loan then said they'll come to my house and job! Wow please I wish the calls would stop! Liars

We just got a call from 646-583-2541 I could hardly understand him, I hung up on him, he called back 3 times within 1 minute. Finally I let him speak on the third call and he says "How dare you hang up on me!, why do you keep hanging up on me!" I answered because it's my phone and I can" then I hung up again.
on his fourth call he stupidly leaves me a voicemail stating that he is going to come to my place of employment with a sheriff and to please wait to be arrested."
I then called an FDCPA attorney advised him on the voice message on my phone, that this individual did not state the reason for his call, who he was representing and so on. The attorney will call back later today.
In the meantime this person calls my spouse on his work phone and begins harassing him. Say's its for a loan with Advanced Debt America? we don't even know this - nor have we ever taken a loan out with this company.
If this guy wants to play like this, I can play!

Day 2, 4th call. EXACT same message as #1 call and call #2. Same background noise and all.

2nd call 1.5 hrs later
3rd call 20 min later.
This time Mr. Foster said the Claudia has legal trouble and if she doesn't call back she will be taken to the courthouse...... WOW !!! I am sure Claudia is shaking in her shoes!!!!!!

i got a call from this guy nick today, he has been calling my job saying that  i owe them some money, when i tried to give him my lawyer  number he would not accept it and told me to have my lawyer to call him.....he was getting smart saying that he is not trying  to offer me any customer service............ dumb a**

Today was the first call. It went to voice mail so I listened to it a couple of times. Kinda funny really The caller "Frank Foster" (with an Indian accent) said the call was for Claudia Hennings or her attorney. "Do not disregard this call".  Sorry, no Claudia at this number. I disregarded his call.

I just got a call from this number, at work, from an Indian man saying that I had legal action pending against me and he needed my attorney information! I was like, WHAT? I have no idea what you are talking about, give me some details that you have. So he rattled off a SS#. Not mine. He asked "Are you sure?" I was like of course I'm sure! Then he rattled off a DOB. Not mine. I said you have the wrong number, how dare you do this to me, do not call here again I will report you!!

I received a voice mail at my work form 645-583-2541 (Ron Baxter), he said I or my attorney should call them soon as possible regarding a legal matter that was about to unfold on me and God Bless. When I called I was told I owed a large amount of money for a payday loan I had not paid and that I was going to be taken to court for $5,000.  The man also tried to make me put money on a green dot money card to give them. I refused and they called my place of work and told them all kinds of bad things about me and that I was going to be taken to jail the next day. They even faked a call from the police department to my phone to scare me. I had my lawyer call him and the calls stopped.

i hate these stupid calls with a passion. i wish there was an agency that would track these guys down and charge them with falsley accusing people of s*** they didnt do and wasting our time on the phone when we could be doing somethign else.

A male called my cell and twice to my work phone #.  Said his name was Ron Baxter and he was with the Mark Rothman Law office.   That legal action would be taken on me first thing in the morning.  This guy also called me last week and when I wouldn't fall for his crap, told me to 'go suck his d***' then hung up.   Today he wasn't vulgar, but could only wish be the best.  I told him not to call my phone #s anymore.  He would never tell me what the legal action was concerning.

A male called my wife's cell phone and was very rude and disrespectful.  I would like a location and/or address so I can 2nd amendment all over his behind.

Same man called me from 347 480 1625 and said that they would arrest me at my place of employment lol...I told him my husband was a cop and he said are you threatening me and hung up

This idiots have called me more than 12 times in less than 3 hours.  Claim that I owe AACA for a payday loan.  When I ask what company they are representing, they won't give me any information.  Told me to quit acting like I have never heard anything about this, that my place of employment will be given all this information, etc.  I told the guy that I was sick to death of these foreigners pretending to be with a law firm.  It's funny to me that, even if I did owe the money, why would 4 or 5 different law firms be retained to collect the money?  They must think we Americans are stupid.  The companies that I have borrowed from have all been paid back, in full, or are in the process of being paid back under set terms.  File complaints with the BBB in the area where they are calling from and also utilize the Federal Trades Commission Complaint.  If enough complaints are made, maybe these imbociles will start bothering people in their own country.  I've never talked with anyone from India, Pakistan, etc. that has the name John Williams, David Mendez, Mr. Smith until these guys started calling.

The same guy left me a message on my voicemail as well..What do he mean "GOOD LUCK"..He need to be saying GOOD LUCK to his a**...Something needs to be done about this!!!!

Called me 4 times today at work within 3 minutes....Each time I told him to stop (man with Indian accent and fake american name-Edward Meyers). He screamed at me and called me names, told me to look in the mirror to see how stupid I was, asked to speak with my manager, attorney, etc. I told him to die. This number just called me 2 days ago and stated all the same stuff i see you all posted. Luckily i have a family Lawyer so i gave him all the information, and he stated this was infact a scam. So i have filled a harrassment claim thru the Phoenix Police Department and i also filed claims against them to Econsumer.gov and IC3.gov per my Lawyer.

I have been threatened by this phone #. They read me 3 counts for a total of $5000.00 that if i didn't pay this amount by tomorrow that the police would come & arrest me. He also threaten me by him calling my employer to tell them about my charges. I told him too do what he had to do. I wasn't going to give them not 1 dollar from me. I told him that i googled this number & it turned out to be a big scammer. He didn't like them words & hung up on my face. I was lol. Too funny.

I got a phone all at my job from this number 6465832541 leave a message stating it was from Mark Rotman  Associate Law Office caller name was Ron Baxter. When call back i spken to someone differ stated Ron was in a meeting. But i owe I was be take to court it was going cause me $5000 inlegal fee and plus what i owe on a payday loan from online a place i never borrow money from.

This crap happened to me about 2 years ago, then died off.  Now its back again.. & I just started a
new job 3 weeks ago.  How would they get that information?

I received a call this morning from a person with a very thick west indian accent.  He said I was going to be arrested from my place of employment on tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m.  I asked what it was about he said he would transfer me to Kevin Miller who would explain it to me.   After Mr. Miller became frustrated that I would not cooperate with him he told me to suck his d@#k....and hung up the phone.

I have received a call for the past 3 days from this number. I don't even listen to the message. It's a man with a very heavy indian accent. I just delete the message. If I owe something, send it to me in the mail on letterhead stating that. Do you honestly think I'm just going to hand over my personal information to a man who has a heavy indian accent with an American name. How stupid do these people think we are? Definitely a scam!!!!

I just received a call from a supposedly Eric Stewart with a very heavy Indian accent.  The man on the phone immdeiately got rude with me and started threatening me about some loan i'm debt to and if i don't send them a $2000 today all he can do is wish me good luck.  Needless to say i told him to choke his chicken because, first of all if i want a loan i can go through my bank and second of all to stop calling my phone.  He said i needed to get my attorney of record because, he was downloading my case while he had me ont he phone.  I told him great because, i work at an attorney's office and i would be more than glad to wait on him to fax these documents over to me once he has completed downloading them.  This was i could prove he was a scammer.  He hung up the phone and when i called back no one answered the phone.
