Caller said he was from Microsoft (calling from a cell phone) and needed the Key code for my Windows operating system.  Heavy Indian accent, calling himself Bryan Smith.  Yes, I hung up, LOLOLOLOLOL, he must have just fallen off the turnip truck.

I informed him that I was recording the call. I asked the twatwad what the address of the company he was calling from. He asked "Why do you want to know that." When I indicated that I have a lawyer friend in California who would be drawing up a class action lawsuit against him and his company, he called me a moth******er repeatedly and hung up.

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is to get a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information, or visit your favorite sales site.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.
* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

this is really tiresome, all these calls from different numbers claiming to be microsoft.  isn;t there a way to stop them

I had received 5 calls yesterday and another 4 today I finally answered the phone they asked for a Daniel I said wrong number and 10 minutes later they called back I answered again nothing then a machine saying good bye then again 5 minuets and same thing.

Woman said she was from the Senior Awareness Center and that they were an authorized Medicare provider and would like to send me some products. I asked her where she was calling from and she said Virginia and that the items would be charged to my Medicare account. She then started asking me questions about my health. Every time I asked her a question she seemed flustered and continued with a scripted speech. I hung up.

Same a***ole tried that a few nights ago, heavy indian accent said same stuff others posted, still trying to call here but hung up when I answered.. maybe the NSA should go after suspicious s**** like this guy, never know, he could possibly be a terrorist imo;) drop a dime on the fool:)

Got a call just like everyone else saying they were from Microsoft and there was a virus on my computer. I asked them if they even knew what my name was, silence, then hung up.

Just received a call from this number. I have a friend in NY so I thought maybe it was her or her husband calling me since it said cell phone. Man with heavy Indian accent told me he was from Microsoft and I have issues with my computer. Idiot actually said "now you say, what's wrong with my computer?", like he was reading a script and read a portion he wasn't supposed to read. I told him it sounded like a scam and I would report him to the Attorney General if he called again, and to remove my number from his list. Can't believe these people actually think you would start giving them information.

got a call from this number today, when I called back it goes to a busy signal after 2 rings. no message left when not answered.

For those who don't know, Microsoft will NEVER call you unless you have some sort of service with them or you fill out a contact request form. Do NOT give them any of your info or computer info. They will ask you to run 'eventvwr' and give them info from your computer... next thing you know you'll be up $hi* creek

I keep getting calls from this number. No message when I don't answer it hangs up. And if I answer they hang up. how can I stop these unwanted calls. And most of them aren't even for me.

Got a call from this number at 9:00 am.  Very heavy accent saying he was calling from Microsoft Windows have regarding a virus report on my computer.  He will show me how to get rid of the virus.....  I asked "what kind of computer do you think I have?"  Dead silence, line still open..... I hung up and redialed the number, said the number is not in service.

"dialed *60, on my Landline, pressed 2, then # to have the last number added to my "Call Screening" List! Now, if they call back, they'll get a message, telling them that, "The Party You Are Trying To Reach Is Not Currently Accepting Calls From This Number"!"  Thank you Kat!!!!  

Received their call at 3:12 AM.  Not a happy camper, as the phone rings in my bed room also.  I tried to call the number back to complain and the message said the number was not in service.

Received a call from this number early today, threatening that they would file court paperwork if we did not call back by the close of business today.   The caller said this was in reference to bank fraud & when I returned the call to ask who they were & what they were referring to, the man on the phone said I called  'Global Acquisitions'.   Then when I suggested he speak with my attorney, he hung up on me.  Would like to file a formal complaint against this company if anyone can tell me how to do that!

Guy with heavy accent called and asked for someone who does not work here.  He started giving me a few names to look up for, but came up with nothing.  Sounds like a scam or telemarketing.

CID says it's a Cellphone number, but it's probably a Scammer!  Called my Landline at 07:33, on Saturday morning (6/14/2014)...Didn't answer my phone, as I was still sleeping, and didn't hear it ring! These people are relentless! I can't believe they even call on a Saturday! I immediately dialed *60, on my Landline, pressed 2, then # to have the last number added to my "Call Screening" List! Now, if they call back, they'll get a message, telling them that, "The Party You Are Trying To Reach Is Not Currently Accepting Calls From This Number"! :o/

Call was very poor quality.  Caller said he was from Microsoft Technical support, but as soon as I asked him if he was actually from Microsoft Corporation, he said yes, then hung up.

Got a call from this # -- it indicates it is from a cellphone but it looks like a prepaid # so they can always change it/throw it away. Even with a fax answering, they are calling out my first name as though it is a friend call. Scam! dont answer!
