Actually, Jonah recieved a Wells Notice from FINRA and he is now under investigation.   Reasonable Basis suitability - violation of NASD 2310 and FINRA 2010.  you only get one of those if you are in serious trouble.   He'll be out of the business soon, just watch.

I received a solicitation call from Mr. Vega. When I told him that I would not be interested in his services, he proceeded to berate me until I hung up. A few hours later he called back and continued to insult me until I threatened to pursue legal action against him. This is not a person that I could recommend ever doing business with. Very unprofessional.

I worked at HFP for a bit it's a huge scumbag firm. Drugs, money, etc. they mostly sell junk bonds and charge at least 3% commission (or mark up so they can say there's no commission) on. The way in and the way out. They had one bond that did well (ford motor credit) that they talk about from 2008. But they love to forget the like of blockbuster and all the other bankrupt companies they put their clients money in. It's just a giant pyramid scheme to make the partners rich, it's mostly kids just out of college being sold and dream and working crazy hours for little pay until they are burnt out.

Also while I was there they hired a pr firm to get all bad stuff about them taken off Internet or hidden by better false reviews. That's who I'm assuming posted the defense of them on here and pointed you to look at Goldman. Ask them a difficult question though and they simply deflect and say it doesn't matter. They are just a chop shop who will eventually leave you with nothing. Don't do business with them and call or request to be on their "do not call list". Finra requires them to upon request or you can file a complaint and put a mark on their licenses

Looked up Jonah's record. A lot of those complaints were following the Dot-Com bust and Subprime Mortgage Crisis when anyone and everyone was trying to get their money back. I think a lot of it was unsubstantiated and proof is that nothing went past arbitration.

Also the fact you're correlating movies with reality implies you have an agenda to smear HFP or the industry, especially since Victor Vega is in fact a real person. You're talking as if you actually know this person.

FINRA site -> "broker check" -> search individual -> Victor Vega (Victor M. Vega Jr.)
Switched around at 3 firms between 08 to 09, was at HFP Capital Markets for 2 years before he left and is current working at Spencer Trask Ventures.

FINRA site -> "broker check" -> search firm -> HFP Capital Markets. Clear record in regard to doing business with clients. They had one small glitch in 2008 when they assumed some issues when they bought out AM in 2008... some of AM's documents were late and not disclosed in the proper fashion to clients resulting in the firm accepting a total of approx. $140,000 in fines... it was liability that HFP got stuck with.

Its fun to look up Goldman and Merrill and all of their subsidiaries.

I get about 5-6 calls a day from this #, but caller id lists it as Alphonso Pappas. Looks like he is morphing into something else. I never answer a call unless I know the # or caller id.

I know who this guy is...Victor Vega now works at Spencer Trask.  He pretends to be rich and is the biggest scum bag you'll meet, I'm talking a monkey in a suit.  I actually wasted my time to meet with guy and saw right through him.  With enough research, you'll see he's had problems with the law.

Everyone here, you should know that Victor Vega is the name of Michael Madsen's character in the 1992 Quentin Tarantino movie Reservoir Dogs.   The character's pseudonym and better-known name is Mr. Blonde.  Just so everyone knows, whoever it is is lying to you and using a false name.   I can't say for sure, it could be his real name, but guys who like Boiler Room and Wall Street tend to like Reservoir Dogs.  Just common sense.

He might work for Jonah Engler over there at HFP Capital.   Look at Jonah's record on FINRA Broker Check and the number of things he has been accused of over the years.  Not someone you want to do business with, and a firm that would hire a guy like that just means that they will hire anyone who can make money regardless of whether he actually makes his clients money or not.  They (and Jonah) get paid as long as he can generate commissions off of his accounts.

I have no problems with someone making a living, and indeed, cheers to Mr. Vega for his telemarketing calls doing so in such a tough economy.  However, if he were a litle more pleasant, instead of sounding like a character straight out of a "B" crime movie, he might receive a return call.   I kept expecting to hear that my lawyer would soon be "sleeping with the fishes" if he didn't return the call.

Do any of you self righteous, soon to be unemployed and outsourced, non UCC knowing, corporate scumbag, lawyers know ANYTHING about trading or how else to build a book of business?

What you all want is free stock recommendations because you are too busy farting on Lexus Nexus to figure out how to consistently make money on the markets.  How do I know?  Because if You knew how to trade, you would NOT be a lawyer, leaching people for 500 bucks an hour simply because you know how to press print on a bloody template that another lawyer typed up.

Good luck with your outrageous Law School tuition bills, over inflated egos, lack of knowledge, and a** backwards business models.

Why is he a scumbag? For coldcalling to create a new book of business?  Contrary to popular belief 1 to 4 point profitable trades are not too uncommon in the markets.  Right now, QE2 is providing alot of liquidity and a boost to the market where some stocks are at maximum levels and will continue upward.

Not all cold calling brokers are scum, the same way not all Lawyers are liars and corporate scum who pounce on the poor with their small minded secret clubs, lingo and traditions and inflated invoices for what amounts to READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS.

I tested him out on 4k worth, he did not promise me any returns, and he advised that if 4k was an amount that I could comfortably invest in a new idea then to invest with him to test his strategy. The investment value is up and I like how he services my account. Not high pressure at all. Never once mentioned that he can double my money. In fact he assured me he does not build his business by doubling people's money, but rather hitting singles consistently. I think all of you folks are highly mistaken about Victor Vega. He is very professional in how he communicates, he showed me his online profile, and you folks should have invested with him. Shame on you all for posting what I truly believe are all lies. I am surprised this online nonsense even exists.

And if he can sell you right on the phone he will. Which explains the you give me $4K and I'll double your return b***s*** line. Like I said guy needs to get better as his job. If he actually knew how to go about the phone sale you all might have more respect for him...might being the operative word here.

Ok, first off you guys seem a little clueless for knowing so much. The guy doesn't make his money per call...you make your money by how many sales you generate, period. The reasons when someone says flatly NO! he hangs up is because he's trying to hit as many calls as he can. Obviously there is a call quota you have to reach each day to make sure your superiors know your trying your best.

Secondly, I do not know this company from a hole in the wall but this sounds like straight up high pressure sales. You make 200 calls a day and maybe get 1 or 2 people to say Yes, I think I would like to hear more about this. Victor Vega obviously needs more polish on his phone etiquette skills and his pitch.

I can't tell you how legit of a company they are or how well these guys are trained or do there market homework. If they guy came off a little more genuine or maybe even could give you ideas of some stocks he thought might make some moves maybe he'd come off as less of a blood sucker and more of a financial professional. This type of work is not easy and it takes 1000 to 2000 calls a week to even get a solid 10 clients written up. But not all these guys are out to screw you. Just the guys who watch to much Boiler Room and Wallstreet, haha.
