Where did you read that this was a scam?
I just got this phone message -  I could hardly understand him.
But, it was exactly like you said.. and in his closing he wishes me
the best of luck on my case.

This is a scam.  I looked it up, it is called an India number.  This is the first time they called me using this number.  I've been getting these calls for about two years.  It is always someone with a very heavy accent, claiming to be a lawyer, using a ridiculously obvious Americanized alias (today it was John Smith-- than must be Mahatma Ghandi.)   They use the same script, which go as follows:  I need you or your retained attorney of record to contact me immediately as this is time sensitive, blah blah blah.  It ends with them wishing me good luck if I dont respond to their message.  I never answer anymore if I don't recognize the number...when I talked to them in the past, they told me the sheriff was coming to arrest me the next day if i didnt give them money.

I have been receiving these messages continuesly. Always from someone who can hardly speak English and always stating that they are and attorney. The names are always different but the voice is the same. Different phone numbers on caller ID, but always the same phone number to call them back at. I believe they are scam artists trying to get money from non existant payday loans. I am SICK OF THESE IDIOTS CALLING ME, I actually changed my phone number to get them to stop. I spoke with one of the names and told them to stop calling me or I would file a lawsuit against him for harrassment, but that didnt stop him so I had no other choice but to change my phone number. How sad is that.
