I received a similar call from (646) 351-1239. Same nonsense about not completing Form 61 despite several notices.  Yes , the guy had an Indian accent for sure! So he was going to send out a patrol car to arrest me within 30 minutes. I was about to chair an important meeting and this really scared me. However, when he said that I have to go to a Department Store to pay the overdue tax and penalty to prevent my arrest, I just hung up. But such a scam could really scare some people into a heart attack or stroke!!
I reported to FTC complaint site, but I wonder if this guy is ever going to  get caught and do time!

Prank Call
Missed a call from 646-757-1389 however though, the caller left a message and alike many other mentioning it was from a Guy with a thick not sure if that was Indian/ Chinese accent claiming his name was Officer Sean Black calling regarding an arrest warrant and I should call back that 646 # or have my legal attorney call them back or else I would be facing legal charges. I know for a fact that I have not being involved in any illegal issue/problem so out of curiosity I call back that number and was then directed to a voicemail.
As a citizen I am extremely concern since as it appeared this person has been able to pull off whatever damage they intended for quite a while without being apprehended or stop... I would hate to hear that some innocent person fall victim to these criminals.. Something needs to be done to stop these kind of illicit behavior.

Prank Call
Got a call earlier in am of 1/17/14. Same number stated repeatedly on this string, ending in 1389. Apparently some federal crimes department. Same heavy accent. And did not sound professional law enforcement at all. I told him so, and he hung up in a hurry. No other message exchanged. They are preying mostly on the vulnerable, and/or uninformed, or catch people off guard. Need to be stopped since tracking phones is not that big of a deal.

Received 2 calls. I don't believe either of them had Indian accents. Sounded more Somalian. Same txt as others with threats to "arrest me on my door step".  They need to be stopped as their calls can be very stressful to an elderly person who may be naive about such scams and may even call them back with a credit or debit card.

Please do also report to the real IRS at www.irs.gov.  They have more information about this scam too:

WASHINGTON ? The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers about a sophisticated phone scam targeting taxpayers, including recent immigrants, throughout the country.

Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver?s license. In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.

?This scam has hit taxpayers in nearly every state in the country.  We want to educate taxpayers so they can help protect themselves.  Rest assured, we do not and will not ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor request a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer,? says IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel. ?If someone unexpectedly calls claiming to be from the IRS and threatens police arrest, deportation or license revocation if you don?t pay immediately, that is a sign that it really isn?t the IRS calling.? Werfel noted that the first IRS contact with taxpayers on a tax issue is likely to occur via mail
Other characteristics of this scam include:
Scammers use fake names and IRS badge numbers. They generally use common names and surnames to identify themselves.
Scammers may be able to recite the last four digits of a victim?s Social Security Number.
Scammers spoof the IRS toll-free number on caller ID to make it appear that it?s the IRS calling.
Scammers sometimes send bogus IRS emails to some victims to support their bogus calls.
Victims hear background noise of other calls being conducted to mimic a call site.
After threatening victims with jail time or driver?s license revocation, scammers hang up and others soon call back pretending to be from the local police or DMV, and the caller ID supports their claim.
If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here?s what you should do:
If you know you owe taxes or you think you might owe taxes, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS employees at that line can help you with a payment issue ? if there really is such an issue.
If you know you don?t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you?ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 1.800.366.4484.
If you?ve been targeted by this scam, you should also contact the Federal Trade Commission and use their ?FTC Complaint Assistant? at FTC.gov.  Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments of your complaint.
Taxpayers should be aware that there are other unrelated scams (such as a lottery sweepstakes) and solicitations (such as debt relief) that fraudulently claim to be from the IRS.
The IRS encourages taxpayers to be vigilant against phone and email scams that use the IRS as a lure. The IRS does not initiate contact with taxpayers by email to request personal or financial information.  This includes any type of electronic communication, such as text messages and social media channels. The IRS also does not ask for PINs, passwords or similar confidential access information for credit card, bank or other financial accounts. Recipients should not open any attachments or click on any links contained in the message. Instead, forward the e-mail tophishing@irs.gov.

More information on how to report phishing scams involving the IRS is available on the genuine IRS website, IRS.gov.

You can report to the FBI and also your state's Attorney General, however, there's not much they can do since the scammers are obviously  overseas.  Do alert your family, friends and neighbors to this scam.  Knowledge of the scam is the best weapon against it.

I also received a call from 646-757-1389 claiming that I have 3 federal charges for not filing form 61 with IRS. Very heavy accent told me to go to local departmental store, buy a Government card (don't know what this is) and pay $2287.00. Officer's name is Alex Watson. They said if I did not pay right away they would arrest my husband.I figured it must be a scam, so I took his info and told him my husband would call back. Then called my police dept and gave the info.

One of his other hindu partner picked up and was like he is in a meeting with the Attorney General. Come one.

I got a call from this number from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was a federal officer and they were investigating me for some report on my identity and other such b***s***, I got mad at him for this nonsense and he started using foul language. I have gotten two other calls from the same people. Is there a way to report this to the appropriate authorities? Impersonating a federal law officer is a serious crime, I assume.

Received a call this morning from 646-757-1389. Man with a thick accent - not sure if Indian or Chinese. Claimed he was calling from the Criminal Investigation Department. Got my name and address wrong. When I asked him about his department and officer number etc., he said he couldn't give me this information because I wasn't the correct person. He also had my location wrong (wrong state) as I have a VoIP phone with an out of state number. Said, "How is that possible? Your number is from Michigan. Is this your cell phone? What's VoIP?" Too easily distracted and random for a real officer of the law. I called him back on the 646 number in 5 minutes after quickly reading some of the reports on it online and he became confrontational and started using foul language. At this time, I hung up. I can't believe somebody can get away with an act like this. How hard is it for police to track down a cellphone? This guy should be apprehended before he seriously damages an innocent victim.

Same here....  This is the call I got.

"Good afternoon this message is intended for Sam.  This is Federal Officer Roger Gibson and I'm calling you from Federal crime enforcement department and the nature off my call is in reference to a federal case in the complaint which has been filed on your name and on your identity. So make sure I need an immediate call back from you on my department number and the number to reach me that is area code 6467571389. I repeat the number once again that is area code 6467571389. So make sure I need an immediate call back from you on my number or else the situation badly enforced on you. Please and thank you and best of luck for your case in the system but they've. Goodbye."

This is such a fraud and not sure how they can get away with these type of frauds.

Someone with a heavy accent (possibly Indian) called and claimed to be a representative of the U.S law forces, and that they were coming to arrest me. I could not understand his accent, so did not bother to even listen to the rest of his B.S call. Be aware.. these folks get free number through L3 communications and are nothing but a bunch of charlatans.
