Same deal..sent text message in response to Craigslist add wanting to buy vintage car sight unseen via PayPal remittance.  Will be blocking that number.

This scammer contacted me off of Craigslist regarding purchasing my Model A ... wanting to buy it for his son as a surprise.  Using the same old scam of Pay Pal, with a shipper picking it up.  This is a typical Craigslist scammer!  Also used the number of 469-420-0762

Texted me. Wanted to buy a $20,750 car through PayPal and asked for my Name and PayPal email address.

God!!!! Ya.... Ill just get right on sending someone any personal info when u put a ad for sale on cregslist..... He wants my 40k truck.... Just txd if I had it I said yes..... He wanted no other info.... I was thinking really! If a person said yes wouldn't you call talk ask questions and for pics then make arrangements!!! Da!!!! Do these pep think their really gd or what!!!!!!!!!

Got a call from 646-820-3763,this same scammer want to buy a car off craigslist. In Texas. Don't give them info. Tell them you will call PayPal direct this scammer  can email you a PayPal confirmation that looks real to call a agent that wants money to release it. You don't have to pay nothing. Call pay pal to see if someone sent you money they tell you it's a scam. Best to sale face to face. Or at least they come look at it. Common since tells you no one will spend a large some of money if they don't see what they're buying.

I received a text from this number at 6 am. I had posted an ad on Craigslist for a car I was selling the day before. They asked if it was still available, I said yes then the person proceeded to tell me he was from NY and would pay via paypal and have a company come pick the car up. He asked for my paypal address, name, and home address. He never asked for pictures, vin number, or any specifics which was a red flag flag for me. Luckily I googled the number and googled Craigslist auto scams and didn't get caught up in anything. Thanks to everyone who reported this number and definitely beware of it and other people who are using paypal to try and scam people out of money/merchandise.

This person just tried to purchase a living room and bedroom set from me and wanted to send me a certified check via Fedex.  And wanted my info so he could send a shipping CO. to me.  Glad I looked up this number.  He is crap outta luck with me.  Thanks guys for your posts.

Received a text from this same number wanting to purchase our camper. He wanted to send a check to a google checkout account and needed our address for pick up.  When asked for his name and location, he replied "am John from NY".  We obviously did not provide any information.

Hmm...he wants to buy my car in Idaho. I'm feeling a red flag!

Scammer (from New York) who asked about buying a large expensive item I'm selling on Craigs LIst - in Minnesota.

This is nothing more than the nigerian check scam. He/she/it wants to send me a check for a horse we are selling. They will send 2500 and im to send them 1000  back. They get really rude if u ask if its a scam. Of course what they dont know...yet.. Is there sending there check to the FBI.... I love screwing with criminals.

Today 10/15/12, trying to buy wheelchairs and I live in North Carolina, wanting to use paypal. He supposedly lives in nyc.  But address he gave me isn't really an apartment building. Hmmm think its a scammer because he said he wasn't lol.

Today, 10/4/12, he's trying to buy a wheelchair lift from me in Oregon. Again wanting to use paypal.  He has texted my phone a couple times.  I told him to please provide his full name and address b4 we proceed further.
