I just got the same one but it was moneygram. And it was for a nexus 5 and it was on craigslist. The guy gave me 100 extra. Then I Googled and voila. It was a Google voice number 347-391-4679
They now have my email address. Don't make my mistake.

Knew something was off about the way this guy wanted to do business. Found this forum and got so excited to take a picture and send it to him.

Waiting to hear from you  SCAM

Here is how the "PayPal Scam" works:

Says they will buy the item and will pay extra to cover charges by his shipping agent.
Says he will PayPal the funds and instruct you to send the extra money via wire transfer or pre-paid card to the agent.
He then sends you a fake PayPal deposit notice email, spoofing the official PayPal notice, that says the money has been put into your account.
You, thinking PayPal has your money, go ahead with the wire/prepaid transfer to the shipping agent, who is really the scammer.
After that, you then find out there was no money transferred to PayPal and are out the money your wired.

This person just texted me about an item I posted on craigslist. He/she asked if they could send me $150 extra and said they would put it in my account right now as soon as I would give them my information. I told him/ her to get a real job. Wish you could catch b*****ds like this!

This person tried to rip me off on craigslist using PayPal.

Same story as Jason. Offered to pay through PayPal and sent an extra $150 for USPS Express Mail Delivery to:

PayPal payment looked legit; however, no funds were shown anywhere and the Transaction ID didn't pull anything up. When questioned, I was told to send the tracking number to: Payconsult111@in.com then the money would show in my account.

I asked what type of phone they have and was told a Blackberry. I sent them a link to this and told them to check it out. They questioned why their number was there and I just left them to figure it out.

If you're reading this now whoever you are, nice try. You really shouldn't try things like this when people and PayPal can and will hunt you down to prosecute you.

Same as first posting.. offered an extra $150 dollars for S&H. I then asked where am i shipping to, what's your name and whats your email address. He gave me the following information:

Scammer. Wanted to buy a kijiji.ca auction as a birthday gift for his pastor's son recently transferred to West Africa and wanted to pay by paypal. Offered extra money to ship directly to West Africa. Exact same story to the ones reported for # 646-801-9586 so likely the same guy.
