I've been getting calls from this number with no response.  Constant calls.

When my aunt in upstate New York calls me, this number sometimes comes up on my caller ID, but it's completely random. Since it's happening to a lot of other people as well, if you see this number, don't necessarily assume it's a junk call.

It's not limited to Vonage at all. Got a call from my bf today who is visiting his parents in Florida. Their phone is on BrightHouse Cable, and this number came up instead of their home number. I questioned him about it and he said that no, he was on the house phone.

I have a Verizon Wireless cell#, live and work in NYC and received a call today from this 646-833-2838 nobody on the other end.

Same here--I have Optimum cable-- NOT Vonage and the numbers 646 833-2838 and 646 346 1210 both show up. The home phone is located in NY (Upstate Monroe NY).
I'm beginning to believe my calls are being monitored.

646-833-2838 has been coming up on my caller-id when my wife calls from NJ to NYC. She is calling form an Optimum (Cablevision) land line.

I called my cousin in NY from my home phone in NJ and my number showed up on his caller ID as 646-833-2838 not my number.

I have also seen this when receiving phone calls from home. Caller ID shows various numbers:
   646 346 1210
   646 833 2838

Those # are not reachable though.

BTW.. I saw people talking about Vonage BUT I am using lingo.com at home :-(

Does it mean this is a "global" VOIP provider issue?

My husband called me on my cellphone from his job phone and this number showed up on my cell phone. I asked him what phone he used to make this call and it was his job phone, the weird thing is that the number that showed up on my cell phone while speaking to him was 646 833 2838. This is very spooky. Perhaps we need to investigate the phone companies or get the Feds invloved because ther could be something much biggert than any one of these complainst suggest. These are waaaay too many complaints.....This needs to be solved.

I use vonage and when I call a NY number, my number shows up as this. vonage goes thru the internet so it must just show up as a NY number. there is no way I can control what number shows up.

Yes, It's Vonage. They're experiencing some glitches in their system which will show that ID from certain Vonage phone numbers. I called Vonage to fix this issue and they're working on resolving it. I'm Using Vonage, and when I call someone, the number 6468332838 (and also 6463461210) shows up on their cell phones. Hopefully this gets fixed ASAP!!

I just called Vonage regarding this issue and the tech support told me that they are having technical problem with their Caller ID system. And they are working on it.

this is stupid if vonage is doing this. I never pickup if I don'y know the number, this is how I avoid the car warranty scams!

Just recieved a hang-up to a NYC Cell Number

This number has replaced my home telephone.  It is showing up other people phones as my telephone number.  This is really crazy.

I have gotten calls from this number and then they call from 646 346 1210

I received a call in NYC appearing to come from this number.  I did not answer but found it to be my wife calling from Albany NY (518 area code).  Even the voicemail system interpreted it as being from the 646 number.

my home telephone number has been replaced by 646 833 2838 and 646 346 1210.

This 6468332838 number been calling ma phone since tis morning and call back at 6463461210. When I call back its busy

I just called my wife from my Vonage phone and she said that my number showed up as 646-833-2838. She tried calling it and it was busy.

their is a problem whith vonage caller id system

I have been getting calls from this number from 2 different people I know on 2 seperate lines.  One is a verizon cell and the other an optimum land line.  Does anyone have any idea why?  Is there any reason someone would be tapping your phone?  Does everyone else live in NY?

I've received a call this morning and a little girl left me a message saying "hi" and when i called back it was busy all the time . Very weird!!!

I did a search on ReversePhoneDetective, and there was no information available on this number.
However there was information on the call-back number (646) 346-1210. The subscriber is Holdin Claridon, in New York City.The service is provided by CTC Communications, Inc., also of NYC, 10270.

I have filed a complaint with DoNotCall.gov and also with ReversePhoneDetective.

I also spoke with a Service Rep at CTC, who told me that I would need to file a complaint with the FCC, and who also suggested that I contact my own provider (ATT/Cingular) who would block this (these) numbers from calling me.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING THE SAME CALLS FROM THE SAME NUMBERS.  IS ANY ONE IN HERE A PROCESS SERVER OR PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR?

I have noticed at times that my home phone shows up as 646-346-1210 and 646-833-2838. Is this vonage problem.

My husband just called me from his Vonage line and it came up as 646-833-2838.  He said that Vonage needs to maintain local numbers so they can transfer calls to people who are not on VOIP phones, like me.  So don't block the number.  It could be someone you know calling you but getting routed through another number.

I saw the number on the Caller ID, and normally I don't pick up on numbers I don't recognize, but since I saw the area code was 646, and I live in New York City, I figured what the hell. Turns out it was a friend of mine who normally calls me every now and then - out of Pennsylvania! I wonder if he's a Vonage customer. I guess this might be a "masking" phone number that Vonage puts out on their system, I don't know.
