Mr. Sledge, Mr. Lombeck, who ever calls from this number, its a scam...and I am tired of listening to them threaten me.  I had my lawyer call them back...odd that they hung up on her.  All she did was ask for proof of a legit debt.  They have been calling me for 5 months now.  I fell victim to one of these 4 years ago.  Paid the debt with out a questions...this time I knew it was not legit.  I did research.  Take the time to fight back.  Its worth it.

These people started calling me in September 2012.  Stating I needed to pay back a payday loan.  Almost 5 years ago I fell victim to this same type of scam.  I paid a debt that they said I owed or I would go to jail.  I did not do any research and paid that debt.  This time when I got the call in September, I panicked for a minute and was willing to pay it.  I tried explaining to the person on the phone that any debt I had incurred I had paid off 4 years prior.  He told me to stop talking...really?  I was very worried and told him I would do whatever he needed for me to take care of it.  Then he wanted Western Union...really? So the following week I called my Lawyer.  They refused to talk to her and hung up on her.  The calls stopped for awhile but they have since started again.  I am reporting them everywhere I can.  Fool me once Shame on You.....Fool me twice....

Yesterday morning I received a voicemail message on my cell phone from an OBNOXIOUS "Kenneth Sledge" calling from "Hearshe Kemp." He was not discreet in terms of leaving the message. He gave ZERO legal disclaimer prior to leaving the message as this being "a confidential call intended to collect a debt...if you are not (insert name), please hang up now...if you are (insert name) please call, reference #..............."  Not this guy...this guy called with the intent to harass and threaten.  He referred to me by name and provided the numbers of my street address and stated he had the last four digits of my social security number (which he never provide in the message...interesting how he knew the numbers to my street address and my last name, but didn't reference the last four digits of my social??). He stated I must call him back as this was in regards to an "unpaid check" and that I needed to call him back immediately to avoid legal action taken against me. He referenced a "case file #" I should provide when calling him back.

I don't have any "unpaid" checks. I have overdraft protection and live in the year 2013 where my bank sends out an email/text alert if my account falls below a certain amount. I sure as hell would have noticed if I had any "unpaid checks" I was allegedly running from (which was the tone of this Kenneth Sledge). This is the first time I have received an actual voicemail from a random number, but I have been receiving calls periodically over the last two weeks from numbers I don't recognize and they haven't left messages (I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize).

Could there be some connection between eBay & PayPal accounts? The reason I question this is because I just started selling items on eBay the last couple of weeks. I also just opened a PayPal account. Is it just a coincidence that I am now getting a threatening voicemail from an extortionist and calls from random numbers??   I know eBay and PayPal pride themselves on security, but I just moved two months ago and I legally changed my name a few months ago.  They didn't reference my previous address and former last name...I just find it very curious how they are getting information and are able to extort money from innocent people and get away with it!

Received a call from this person identifying himself as one George Black.  He was very rude and had some of my information, that information was WAY out of date, but stated that I owed a company named US Cashnet over $1300.  I advised "Mr. Black" that I needed a copy of the electronic contract as proof along with his law firm's address.  He provided me an address out of NY but stated he couldn't provide me with the electronic contract.  I asked him "now that's sort of strange you being a legit lawyer and everything, isn't it?" he replied that he was trying to help and I told him I didn't need his help...he then stated that he wasn't the one who wrote a bad check, I told him that made two of us and he really became pissed then!

I advised him that since our first conversation that I had not only confirmed with this payday loan service that I did not owe them anything, but that I had contacted the FBI and filed a complaint with IC3.  He asked me if I wanted garnishment and I told him I wanted proof.  After about 5 minutes of what seemed to be fun for me and not so much for this idiot I ended the call.  FYI- I checked my credit report and there is NOTHING from Cashnet that says I owe money either.  We are in 2012, don't you think if this loan was unpaid since 2008 I would have received something way before now, not to mention this would DEFINITELY be on my credit report.

PS: If someone calls you stating that they are trying to get money for a bad debt and they don't say something to the effect of... "My name is "" with the law offices of "".  I am calling in regard to a debt that was unpaid.  This intent of this call is to collect a debt, any and all information will be used for that purpose..." then they are probably not legit.  The last time I checked, these sort of things were confidential and not left on your VM.  Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is just a worthless piece of s...

they called me today with the same thing,  They said I owed money from a payday loan one of which never existed.

I call them about 20 times a day to let them know how it feels also tell them what low life scums thay  are

I reported the number to the FTC and I also called the company back and told them i was going to report them!

I LOVE THE INTERNET!!  These creeps called and harassed me and because years agao I had take out a Payday Loan when I was desperate, I thought this might be legit.....IT'S NOT.  Don't share any info, don't waste your time, BUT do forward any info to your local Sheriff's office.

These people have been calling me because I supposedly didn't pay a Cash Advance loan. The first time they called I told them they must hve the wrong person because I've never taken out a payday loan but the guy had my email and an old bank acct # so I immediately thought someone must have stolen my identity and asked them for a letter with the company that supposedly gave me the cash advance so I can look into this. They said they weren't going to send me anything except a court date if I didnt settle with them. I told them they could send me whatever they wanted but I wouldn't be paying something I didn't owe. After threatening me some more, the guy hung up on me. They sent me a letter about 4 months later and said the company I owed money to was called Cash Advance Payday Loan. I called the place and the rep said this company is a scam and the FBI is investigating them because Cash Advance Payday Loan is a loan processing company for other cash advance lenders. They don't actually loan any money so there is no way I could owe them anything. I filed a complaint on them with the FBI online. I suggest everyone does the same so that this place can be shut down since they are scamming and threatening people.

You guessed it. That same Mrs. Collins called me also threatening me with fraud and a list of bs charges. She said, " you have an old debt with Edollars." Never would give me the amount. Also something having to do with an old bank account. The alleged debt was dated in 2007 and 2008. I had taken out a payday loan and it was associated with that bank, but both accounts were closed in 2006. These people are Phishers I believe. Don't give any personal info. So after dropping some knowledge bombs on her I picked up from the Clark Howard Show ( hats off to you Mr. Howard ), her voice tone went from stern athuritive to timid child and then quietly hung up. TAKE THAT EVIL DOER !!

I received a message at work from a Mr. Cooper saying that he was the head of finance and he is calling on behalf of a client (did not give a name for his company or the clients company) about a bank transaction that did not go through.  Also that bad check charges were being filed against me in NC.  He had the last four digits of my social security number.  I haven't lived in NC in 3.5 years and hadn't written a check in that state for at least 8 years.  The number was 646-871-3777 which is a NY area code.

The name of the fake company is Vitelity LLC.  It is in New York and it is a residence, a house.  Don't give these scammers any information.  Report them to the FCC & FTC.  They are making illegal calls and threaten calls.  Tell them you are reporting them to the FBI and let them know that you know what state.  There is also a lady that calls to from that same number, it's probably his simple wife.  The  are everywhere, in India, Canada. The get 800 numbers and they can call from anywhere in the world.  Next time they call you ask for an address.  He is going to tell you, you have to send the payment through Western Union.  Red Flag.  I generally beat them at their own game and you can do the same.

I just started getting calls from this number.  They called me at home.  I picked up the phone and some man on the other end started talking really smart to me.  I told him my mother, father, brother and uncles are all FBI agents in New York where he was calling from, he hung up.  You can beat them at their own game.  This is a scam and do not send them any money.  Have not heard from this fool since then.

Why are you sending them money in the first place.  These people are probably in India.  It's a scam, just a scam.  Don't send them anymore money and let them know that you have notified the FBI.  That will get them off of your back.

Next time they call you, tell them you are a debt collector too and you have been looking for them.  Beat them at their own game!  It's a scam.

this company has been  calling me a year, I started to pay them off and then they were taking money when not scheduled and charging me fees. I had to change banks. Thewomans name i Susan Collins and claims to be a special agent and now is calling my job threatining and told her to stop calling my job, she started screaming at me about malious intent. I told her stop calling my job and she said no

I received a call from some lady, I didnt catch her name or company, she says she's an investigator and have been looking for me, I asked for what, she stated some outstanding debt from 2007 a payday loan  I never had, through a bank account I never had.  She said they would have me arrested at my job today. I told her to send me a letter and hung up, she called me back four times! When I picked upit was a yelling crazy lady on the other end, I wish I knew the company I would report them in heartbeat!!  WTF!!!

I got a call from this number demanding a payment. I asked for a letter to be mailed but they refused to send it. They asked for my banking information. No way

This caller acted like he was a lawyer and threatened legal action. I have gotten several calls from this number and each time they ask for diffrent people and still continue to treaten with legal action I keep telling them I am not who they are asking for. I usually end up hanging up on them

Fraud--calling and threatening Legal Action.  This company insist that we owe money and that we have to go to court and this is a felony, and we need to go to court.  I am til this day waiting for the court letter, but none received.  Don't give debit card, Social Security infor, or any personal information. I just got this same call yesterday & they threatened legal issues and wanted my debit card number to pay the $500 back.  I figured it was a scam.  It's important never to provide any information over the phone--no matter the legal threat.  Tell them to send paperwork by mail so you can verify with the business or Attorney General office (if they dont have your address--don't provide it again. Hang up if need be..

Don't call them back, don't pick up their callks.  If they contact anyone else tring to get in touch with them, just tell whoever it is that it is an extortion scam, and refer them to the above website as well as this one, and the links down the right side.

If you should pick up, and are in a position to do so, blow a metal whistle or signal horn in their ear.  It should stop them pretty quickly.  Don't let them get you upset, even though that's easy for me to say....
