This number keeps calling my phone thank god I didn't answer....isn't there a way to get these people in trouble for scaming? ?? How do they get our numbers ?

got a call from that # just a little bit ago.  i kept him on the phone and went to our chief of police and started a service complaint.  told me i would be arrested at 3 pm today.  what is the purpose of this company?  all the while i had my 2yr old granddaughter as my daughter is in the hospital having twins.  how do we get this stopped?

Just got a call from a guy with an extremely heavy Indian accent who claimed there was a lawsuit filed against me. He said his name was officer James wilson and that he was with the "Federal Crime and Investigation Department New York office." I told him my lawyer would call him back. Ha!

Caller left message on my answering machine, using my first name.  His Indian accent was so heavy I could only understand part of what he said.  He only used my first name and told me that my ss# and name would be reported to...someone...and legal action would be taken if I did not immediately return his call to care of the matter.  He is now blocked!  :)

Just got a call also . He can barely speak English and stated he was with the IRS. He stated I was going to be arrested tomorrow and was going to jail for 17 months. Or I could settle with him in the amount if 1260.00 dollars. He would not give me any info on himself. He kept calling me sweet heart and honey and asking hiw old I was. How do we get this idiot arrested ?

Just got a call from this number about 30 minutes ago this guy barely spoke English. Told me I owed money but couldn't tell me exactly what for. Every time I asked his name he changed it and he got upset because  I kept questioning him. Eventually he told me i would be imprisoned for life for making fun of an officer and for being drunk. Doesn't sound like a federal officer to me, people beware!!!!!

Also got a call....said that I had a past State debt from 2011 and 2012.  Identified themselves from the IRS.  I asked why wasn't I getting contacted by the State if I owed them instead of the IRS.  I was told that the State turned the matter over to them beause I was not cooperating with the State.  I identified myself as a Taxpreparer (which I am) and informed them that I know how taxes work and the State would contact me in this such matter and not the IRS.....they got very UPSET with me and said that they are sending an agent to arrest me....I said send them.....I'll be waiting.  Their response hanging up on me.

I received a call from this same number today.  I had thirty minutes to call him back or there would be federal police at my door.  
John Clayton who barely spoke English discussed far too much personal data to a a law enforcement officer.    I used a throw away phone to try and call back and could not get through and was immediately disconnected.   Beware people!

Same basis premise as those reported previously...  I pulled the old switch-a-roo and called with *67 and identified myself as a law enforcement agent and said I had complaints about this number...  The Indian dude said he worked at a grocery store, and when I asked the name of the store he hung up...

This is some coward hiding behind a magicJack device plugged in at some God-forsaken corner of the world where there is Internet service.  He's no better than a common criminal using a magicJack device and your fear the same way a common thief uses a toy pistol hidden in the pocket of his overcoat to make a bulge that looks like a real gun.

This scam has been extensively researched at
http://www.pindropsecurity.com/consumer-fraud ... irs-phone-scam/ and it was found that magicJack numbers are frequently used, and many of the scammers are operating out of India.  There is even an audio recording of a call returned to one of these numbers and a written transcript of the recording contained in links from the Pindrop Security blog.

MagicJacks are readily obtainable outside of the United States for about $100 US and can come with up to a year of free calling to the U.S. and Canada.  In India, see, for example,

So it doesn't take long to turn a profit, even if only 0.1% of the people they call are stupid enough to believe the scammers.

In addition to the regular reporting channels, e.g., the Department of the Treasury, the FTC, and/or your local state attorney general's office, you might also report the abuse to YMAX Corp.  This is a fully-owned subsidiary of the company that sells magicJacks.  YMAX Corp. is in charge of assigning telephone numbers to magicJack devices.  I have seen reports that they are pretty good at responding to complaints and may be able to permanently shut off a magicJack device, if necessary, so that it can never be used again.

Caller from this number stated he was with the Federal Crime investigation, NY, and that he had a case number and warrant id number for me.  Told me I was being investigated for 3 charges, illegal tapping??, banking scam, and something sounding like a problem with the IRS.  Told me I would owe more than 45,000 plus court costs.  Said I could go to court over it, or I could settle it with him today.  Also stated that their were 3 attorneys listening to our conversation, and that I should not ask questions during his discussion of my problems.  Caller had a heavy accent that I could not place.  I let him ramble on for a bit and then told him I was reporting him to the attorney general in IL, asked him to remove my number from his call list (Ha!) and hung up.
He gave his name as Kevin Gibson.

I received a phone call yesterday  6/10/14 from a Robert William  badge # 2067 from the federal crime investigation. He claim he received  a federal case file under my name and my social security number is under investigation. He left his number and said it was urgent to call him back. This person has a very heavy accent. Realize it was a scam when he gave a personal number.

Received a call from this number. This is a business. The caller whom barely spoke English said he was an Officer Robert Willem and he was calling about an investigation. He gave me a bogus case # and said he worked for the FCI. I asked WTH that was did he mean the FBI and he said no. If he calls today I am reporting him to the FBI for impersonating an officer. Tired of these calls they interfere with running a business.

I got a call today from an Office Roy Wilson stating that I didn't pay my state taxes amount to $1260.36 and that he was going to submit my case to the federal bureau of investigation to have me arrested. He gave me a case # but wouldn't tell me who I could contact to get it resolved and he said that he was the only person who could resolve it for me.

For the second time this man named Kevin Smith has called and left a message on my phone saying that he was from the federal something rather and my name has been reported and I need to call them before they take legal action and have me arrested at my front door or my place of business to arrest me

company calls asking for a kathleen gibbs. we tell the guy wrong number and they he yells at us. calls 5-10 times a day. found out his name is chris john from Cash Net USA
