A person named Emily called me with a private number, saying she was from Master Card and Visa transactions. She asked me to send her via fax a statement, this is the fax number she gave me: 888-478-2690. I asked her if she could send me an e-mail with her credentials, but she told me that she can't do that. She invited me to browse the website of the company she works for, but I told her that anyone can pretend to work for a company when she or he gives a website. So, I insisted that I am not sending anything unless she sends me an e-mail from her company, so that I can personally verify the info. because I don't know who she is. In the end she asked me my e-mail address, but I have never received one. I also called my personal merchant Visa and Merchant processing bank and they told me not to send her this info.
I hope they won't call me again and again like "123"...
PS: I forgot, her excuse for asking me the statement was because change in the law has occurred.

I received a call from 646-875-5754 but didn't answer as the CID said "No name". The caller left a message and I dialed up my phone service to hear the message. The message was "Mom, Mom, help me, help me." I had just attended a funeral and was already upset. I called my children and they assured me they had not called. They suggested I report the call. I called the DONOTCALL registry and submitted my complaint and after typing in all the info they requested a $25 fee to complete the service. How cruel!!! I am a senior citizen 80+ years of age. There surely must be a way to stop these kinds of calls with submitting a fee. I thought I was having a heart attack!!!.

I keep getting calls asking me medical questions. When I have called the number back I'm told it's a Magic Jack number with no name attached. I get a call every week day from these people. When I tell them no to their questions they rudely hang up.

A new scam. Just received a call from 646-875-5754 this time masquerading as "Merchant Services". Sara Adams needed me to fax a "Transaction Report" to her immediately for evaluation of Master Card transactions. A representative would be in first thing Monday morning to discuss their findings. She was very hard to understand and knowing what I do know I doubt seriously if this was her real name. I considered sending a fictitious report to them and to see if they show up. She would not send a formal request.

Received a calling me about new Federal Legislation regarding my acceptance of Visa and Mastercard. Said some processors add unwarranted charges to the V & MC standard fees. They want me to send them the latest statement so they can analyze it, at absolutely no charge to my company.

We keep getting calls from this number asking for Merle Ellner. They disconnect when I (his wife) answer. We do not want these calls.

Just how is using bottled water "Green?" Truck water from place to place, using fossil fuels - even if you use "Green" transportation it still uses energy that has to come from someplace. It is far more "Green" to use tap water and a filter. That is why Gov. Patterson is phasing out bottles water in state facilities. Your # was on my caller ID. I hope to be here the next time you call so I can grill your representative.

One of my merchants received a call from 646-875-5754 telling them that they are from Master Card and that they are due a refund if they send them their statement. The woman got angry when the merchant starting question her. Watch out for this scam.
Let me know if you know who the number belongs to. I called it and no identifier but left a message.

Matt 2011-06-06 20:53:40 Unknown
Well, living in the kind of world we live in today, you can't trust anyone now-a-days! However, because they spoke about bottled water, I can see where the "Go green Initiative" come's to play, but asking for bills is a bit too personal. If you really like to be apart of the Go Green Initiative, email me at matt.albury@yahoo.com for a real and true way to help the earth!

I answered and then it went Bing (Sound FX) and then Goodbye (Automated voice).
Angry New Yorker 2011-06-06 20:53:40 Unknown
Watch out they pretend to be from Visa and Mastercard. I'm a pro at dealing with these kind of calls, I simply said F*** YOU and hung up. That's what you do. NO COMPANY IN NEW YORK calls from a ^$^ area code it's ONLY for cell phones people!
Maggie 2011-06-06 20:53:40 Unknown
I received a call from this lady "Gabriel Lopez"? She asked if the manager was there and I said what that was about. She told me something about VISA and MASTERCARD merchant. I just had customer came in and I told her "you called in on a different time" then she started yelling and said, "you asked me what that was..." I got mad, I told her "did you just yell at me? do you yell at your clients?"
Finally, she said" f*** you!" I mean, seriously?? F*** ME????

claimed to be from Mega M credit card processing - tried to pretend they knew all about my card processor - yet they didn't even know who they are.
Scripted dialog - this is not a sales call , however they tried setting up an appointment with a specialist - hateful, lying scam artists

We're in California and have received at least seven calls in the last ten days from the Go Green Initiative. They insist on us faxing our Alhambra water bill to them. They are extremely aggressive, and will not answer direct questions. "Don Edwards" has been calling us, and this last time she said that compliance was mandatory per Executive Order #18. THIS IS A LIE. After some investigation, it seems they are trying to sell bottle-less water systems to businesses. They're also involved in a compact disc scam, where the over-charged victim's money gets "donated" to such wonderful causes as ....the Go Green Initiative. Before they latched on to the "green" idea, their old trick was some credit cards scam.
Annoyed 2011-06-06 20:53:40 Unknown
Just got off the phone with these people. They said they were from the go green initiative of NYS. Extremely persistent, the person would not hang up no matter how long I left her on hold. Seemed extremely fishy. I finally got her number to say that someone would call her back (just to get her to hang up). And now it's led me to this information. Seems like a scam.

called 8/4 and said they were from the Go Green department for Gov. Patterson. Talk about Executive Order #18 and want me to give info about whether we use bottled water and if so wanted us to send copies of our bills to them. I asked for them to send me info in the mail and they said they needed the questions ansered 1st. Did not give info.

I am a credit card processor and they called one of my merchants pretending to be from Master Card. My merchant was smart enough. They asked for his statement. My first reaction is that they are trying to get statements to give a quote. My merchant was smart enough.
