Just because they say they are the Ministry of Finance calling about a 'town hall' meeting, does not mean that it is them. I have received calls claiming to be such and such and then found it wasn't them. This happens near elections with someone purporting to be from a party, but the caller is just trying to annoy the recipient of the call so that they will not vote for the named party. I just ignore any unidentified call.
When did we copy this American 'town hall meeting' stuff? This used to be Canada.

they just called announced themselves as john malloy and said something about a town hall meeting..i just hung up five minutes later they called aain I didn't pick up two minutes later it started again I answered he said he was john molloy he sounded to a kid to me so there is no way I believe it was john molloy so I just hung up

Called twice in the last minute. Second time I said Hello, no answer so I called Mr. Wolf Whistle and gave them an earful.  Too bad it was an automated message.  Hung up to call someone and they were STILL on the line.
I think they're a part of some Survey company called EKOS Research.  They called twice in a 30 second period to do a survey.  THAT number is 1-888-688-0709 and there was another number.

I just never answered it but after I saw some comments from different websites I relized not to answer it!

Called 4 times between 5 and 8 pm, no message.

Called 5 times in 1/2 hour. Ontario Liberal Finance Minister Charles Souza inviting me to listen to his live town hall meeting. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.

Really I just recieved the same call 6 times in the span of a half an hour and i wait until they say Q&A and it hangs up, really getting annoying!

They just called a 4th time and its Charles Souza ministry of finance!!!! Ahhhhhh stop calling me stocker!!!

They call my house every night. I never pick up for long distance calls unless there's a caller ID I know. This number called 3 times in the last 10 minutes. They left no voice mail and it rang a lot longer than usual. Creepy b*****ds! They have no souls I swear.

This is the first night our phone has rang in a long time it's called us 3 times in a span of 5 mins! To find out the Government it just makes me even angrier the Minister of Finance doesn't want to hear what I have to say to them right now! Interrupting supper time is not a thing you want to do in this house! Disgusting when we're getting BS calls from the Gov't and why doesn't it say it's the Gov't calling on the call display?

Voice mail was left and he said that it is Ontario's Minister of Finance doing a Q&A on finance issues and was sorry he missed my answering.

this number called, and like always, i grabbed the phone and went to the laptop - i like to check the numbers as they call. once it had went to voicemail, i watched the phone -  to my surprise, the phone started ringing again - from the same number, except this time without the "1" in front. and it didn't stop - the voicemail didnt pick it up this time - it kept ringing and ringing, which is really weird - how could they bypass our voicemail?
