We have been getting these too, had one on the machine from 3 days ago.  At least they did not leave a blank voice mail.

Bell is beyond useless... They make money from these calls so they encourage them

I am in Québec city and just got that phone call a few minutes ago (Jul 31st 2012, 10:35) from "Am Political Opinion" wanting to know what we think about the governmental debt and promising a chance to win a 2 Days cruse in Bahamas. I am also on the list of not wanting to receive any unsollicitated phone calls.

the number just called my house at 1030pm. i have a toddler and an infant, and they both go to bed early. this number has been calling all week its driving me nuts! we are in ontario as well

Picked up the phone, said hello, and no one was there. Annoying!!

Have been recieving these calls every single night for the past month. Every time I answer there is a long pause (obviously automated call) and then they hang up on me. I would like them to answer for once so I can tell them to stop calling!!

Just received a call.  Didn't answer.  In Gatineau, QC.

Not legitimate. Robocalled my house at 9:45 pm. way past legitimate time period. Don't give info. They call it a "political" call just trying to get around CRTC rules.  They will get caught and the fines will be severe when they do.  Please document every call you get.  When I find out who it is, believe me it will be all over the internet and I will encourage everyone to come forward so that the fines are severe.

They rent Bell numbers and do auto calls for surveys and debt reduction etc--ALL SCAMS!!!!
They have many numbers and call from all over the country
Complain everytime you get one of these annoying calls

Call from 647 2471753 ,no answer!

Just rec'd a call from 647-247-1753 at 1 45 pm  edt when I called back it said  the  number was not in service. Hate these damn telemarketer /phantom computer calls. Wish they'd arrest all of them that do s*** like this.

Call shows up as "Ontario".  Whenever I answer those, it is always a recording that only begins once  you answer "hello?".   Nobody in his right mind can believe that this practice has any legitimate or cost effective benefit, so you have to consider the intent is other than to separate you from your money.  The only thing they get from calling you happens when you actually say "hello".  If they are recording you, they get a voice print, that they can connect to your telephone number.  That some computer in the US has a record of every bank transaction, email, interaction with police, tax agency, that is, anything that you can ever imagine is possible to put into a dossier, it isn't at all unreasonable that adding a voice print to that file can also be done by making an automated call and getting you to give it up freely.  So save these calls in your phone and simply edit the caller ID to show as automated or nuisance.  Any caller using a province or state as their ID shouldnt be answered and likewise edited and saved so you know what to ignore when they call.

In "call type", I entered "political call".  Well, it isn't really that even though the automated message begins by telling me that I've been specially selected (lucky me!) for a political survey and I hang up immediately.  I now know the number and don't even pick up any more.  There obviously isn't anything that can be done about this call and so many like them as they just continue to come.  Hell, the other day I even got one of those idiots again who wanted to tell me my computer had errors.  As long as someone (don't know who...be it the scammers, the phone companies or maybe even the governments) continues to make money from this crap, it'll just continue on.  Best we can do is not answer and hope and pray that something very big and very heavy falls on these scum.

I received a call from this number. The caller ID said "Ontario". I let the answering machine handle it but no one left a message. 5 minutes later I received a call only this time from Quebec. I picked it up and it was a automated political party survey. Perhaps they are connected.

I received a call from this telephone number. I let it ring six times. My telephone answering machine then kicked-in. The caller left no message. I live in Prince George, B.C., Canada. I don't answer calls from people I don't know.  Stop telemarketing spam.

Got a call from this number (according to *69) this morning (July 30).  I'm in London ON, and this number 647 247 1753 appears to be in Toronto.

I pick up the phone, say hello, but hear nothing on the other end.  

When I call that number, I don't get a ring signal or anything for about 10-20 seconds, then I get a fast busy signal.  Does anyone know who is behind this number?

Been getting these calls for the past 2 weeks.  Once at 10:30 pm!   Is there not a way we can block these idiots.  They claim to have a 30 second survey but I always cut off without saying a word.
