I have had a call from 1-647-435-2203 yesterday and today. I didn't answer it but there's never a voicemail. I would like to know what it's about? I'm in Vancouver BC.

They called an office in Surrey BC claiming to be from 96.9 Jack FM so they need to figure out the station and to call from Ontario on behalf of a station in Vancouver? Very suspect indeed.

I also got a call at work and I don't even live on that side of Canada so have no idea why you would be calling me. If you are legit then you should have a better handle on the people calling, and where they're calling

Who ever called our number was put off by the answering service and left dead air - not a very good approach to marketing.
If the calls are legitimate there should be no problem leaving a coherent message - it's pretty annoying to get dead air on a message.

Hi there,
I'm the Promotion Director for 98.1 CHFI and can vouch for the authenticity of these calls, and would like to address a few of the issues raised here:
We are alarmed to hear that a couple of you have been hung up on. We are investigating this on our end to ensure it doesn't happen again.
The fact these calls are coming from a 647 number - rather than 416 - is due to a technical issue we can't control.
These calls are legitimate. 98.1 CHFI is inviting an exclusive group of listeners to play the Win@Work contest for a chance to win up to $10,000. If you are interested in participating, please contact me - or my co-worker Jackie, and we'd be happy to include you in the promotion.

Jackie Gilgannon
Promotion Coordinator, 98.1 CHFI

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience or confusion as described above, and we'll work on our end to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

May be they are paid by your service provider to call you this many times a day ! Who knows

I get calls from this # 3 times a day on my pay as you go cell phone. Which cost $0.25 a minute and at this rate will cost me $270.00 a year ! How can I stop them calling me ? When I phone the # back they spill you a message saying please leave a message with your phone # and we will disconnect it from our list in 31 days, then at the end of the message ! It says sorry this mail box is full.

Called the number back, it's telemarketing. Tells you to leave a message if you'd like your number removed.

Have gotten many calls from this number, never leaves a message and never a sound when I answer it. When I call it back, there is no ringing and no one answers just silence. It's so stupid.

WE also got a call with the same claim. So what do we do?
| 647 2011-09-23 18:58:35 Unknown |
I can confirm this number has been calling my company as well and definitely is not legitimate.

This woman claimed she worked for 98.1 CHFI and kept calling my company and said I would have a chance to win $500 to $10000. All I needed to do was give her my contact information and I would be placed in the lucky draw. My a**, if she called from CHFI, it wouldn't be from a 647 number.
