this number just called my looking for a person, not me!!! On a friggin Sunday. Not sure who, what or why , but SUNDAY????

Dead air for several seconds, then a hang-up.

Calls frequently at any day or time. One time I answered and there was nothing for several seconds so I hung up.

Called my family asking for me. Did not leave a message. Rang back, message says "Thank you for calling the general information line!  Sorry we missed your call.  Please leave a message, with area code, and we'll get back to you." No idea what this is about.

This number calls for my brother.  It's the PC Party of Ontario.  He must've given them money or support at one point.  They always call.

Called Jan 30/2009 - Ontario Progressive Conservative Party - Fundraisers - Asking for .....MONEY..... go figure!

I got a call from this number as well. My spouse answered the phone they asked for my full name when i answered the phone it hung up. the call ID provided this number. I didn't bother calling it back. Sounds like a scam/telemarketer

Received a call from this number but didn't pick up.... did a search and stumbled on this site.

I have had my phone less than a month!

I received a call from this number today at approximately 4:15 pm EST according to my caller id. No one was home and they didn't leave a message on my answering machine. Searched Google to find out who was calling, didn't want to call the number and somehow be connected to a 1-900 number, and stumbled across this message board.

Called today at 3:46pm EST. I quickly answered, thinking it was telemarketer, didn't get an immediate response and hung up before their system clicked in.

This number called my home around 4:45 today, and against my better judgment I reluctantly answered. No one on the other end, so I hung up.

A man called, asked to speak to someone I didn't know. I said "wrong number" and he gave me 3 different names, asked me if any of them were at this number. One of the names was my husband's. I said no and asked him who he was. He said that if none of the names he listed were there, then he didn't need to tell me who he was! I hung up. Next time, this number calls (and they've called before), I'm going to scream into the phone!!! Or maybe just hang up right away.

This number is calling me almost every day. No answer. I called back and they eant you to leave a message

I am the same phone status as you are and it bothers me tremendously.Your marketeering theory is possible,but I feel this is something far more invasive,just look at all the complaints,they are not all consistent in their pattern of engagement.WATCH OUT FOR BIG BROTHER,this should be of greater concern to Bell,but obviously it is not.

PS; I had a conversation for over 10 min. when this number called me,but it didn't make sense(hold water) or legitimate.

Rececived a few calls from this number. Woman asked for my husband using his first and last name, I said he is not home for a moment, women just hang up. Next time my husband answered, no one at the other end and many times like this. This is clear abuse of the telephone line and BELL is not doing anything to stop it.

I have a totally unlisted number not published ANYWHERE and these jerks have stumbled onto it.  What they are doing is compiling a list of actual numbers which are linked to people and no fax machines and these numbers are then sold to telemarketers.  Ever wonder how vaccume cleaner sales scum get our numbers???  They use a demon dialer and record every sucker number they can because they know many of us use unlisted numbers to try to avoid them.  The lists are then compared to listed numbers, then the listed numbers removed and the cleaned list is sold for a higher price to these telemarketing a***oles. Their biggest cutomer of these unlisted numbers.... newspaper subscription marketers.  You watch, next week you will get a call from the Star or the Sun wanting to sign you up for a newspaper subscription.  All because you answered you phone!

Phone ran and when I answered, the man said Hello, Goodbye and hung up. It did not seem like a wrong number...almost like if someone was checking to see if anyone was home so they could break in.

Received call on my mother's phone line (it's registered to her and there's no definite link between me and this phone number) except perhaps the address. Mom's line is unlisted, to boot.

Mom tells me that a woman was on the line. I was busy upstairs and couldn't take the call. I told her to give the woman my home office number and have her call me there. No calls from this number have come through to my office number.

Mom recorded this number for me and I did a web search, which lead me here.

Can anyone confirm what these calls are about?

I called back from my office line, using caller id blocking (*67) and heard the same recorded message "Thank you for calling the general information line!  Sorry we missed your call.  Please leave a message, with area code, and we'll get back to you."

I didn't leave a message.

If they call back, I will speak with them to see what it's about.

They're still calling!  If I happen to recognize the number next time, I will say, "Oh yes, he's here, one moment," and leave them in MUZAK hell hehe

Tuesday, August 21, 2007, 1:00 pm EDT.  Answered this number coming through to a place of business.  The gentleman on the other end asked for one of our managers by name, but as he was not available, the caller said they would try back another time.  This is the fifth time (according to our call log) this number has called for this manager.  He must be on some sort of telemarketing list as the manager recalls someone from this number trying to sell him "penny stocks".

Called at 11pm Sat and 3 pm Sun.  PIA.  General Information Line on Call Back.

Received a call from this number, no one at the other end.

Rang back, message says "Thank you for calling the general information line!  Sorry we missed your call.  Please leave a message, with area code, and we'll get back to you."

No response when I said Hello. I waited a few seconds and as I was putting the receiver down I hear a woman saying "Hello". It was too late.
