I have just had the exact same thing and worded exactly the same way from yemtechll983@yahoo.co.uk for an immobility scooter it is interesting to see what he'll do with this information but I will not let anything go as easily.

I'm selling sofa on gumtree and the same has happened. Told them I didn't have a Paypal and would like cash on collection and they replied telling me how to set up a Paypal and they will wait for me to do it. So I sen them a polite message back telling them to f**k off hope they take the message

I got the same reply to a Gumtree ad - they told me to give me my paypal account and they are prepared to pay the full amount plus postage - I asked them where they lived so I could calculate the postage but to date they have not responded.

Just got the same text right now! I typed in the scammers email on google (yemtechll983@yahoo.co.uk) and found you brothers discussing the same topic. I knew something was fishy!

Same here! He sent me a txt and then told me to reply to his email (yemtechll983@yahoo.co.uk)
Response back from him:

Yep, exactly the same. I asked them to confirm further details, like would the collect my item etc & they keep pestering & just saying they will send funds right away.
Don't trust this. Also I'm in the UK and the number that text initially isn't, so I found it hard to believe that they will collect a sofa from the UK without seeing it first!

I had a text from the above number replying to an ad I posted in Gumtree. I'm selling something. The text said to contact via the following email address:
yemtechll983@yahoo.co.uk
I contacted by computer...not by phone, as I will not email via my mobile phone.
The person responded simly by saying that if I gave my paypal email address, then they would transfer the funds into my account. Needless to say I didn't.
