Call supposedely from BM)

They have called my cell phone several days in a row and never leave a message. I've answered it before and there is never anyone there. When I tried back I also got the IBEX Global message.

Emailed BMO and this is their response:

I've had several calls from this number. I'm not always home to answer it but I see it in my call-display list. Today I answered it and no one is there. Figures. Who is this scum-bag and what do they want from me anyway?

I got the same phone call,,answered it etc,and called it back,,,same deal , added my number to the do not call list, so I did but I still get the calls. So, now what?

The scammers are at it again. Male caller asked to speak to my wife and that he was calling on behalf of the BMO, asked if he wanted to leave a message , answered no, and hung up.Beware of these calls, these scammers have a lot of personnal information. DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR PERSONNAL BANKING AND/OR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.

Banks are giving out your personal information to these telemarketing companies in order to make outbound telemarketing calls, often using auto dialing devices. You have a right to ask what company they are calling from, their street address, their name, the company they are calling for, their privacy officer and phone number, and how they got your personal information.
You need to register a complaint with the Federal Privacy Commissioner at http://www.priv.gc.ca/complaint-plainte/index_e.asp.
Also register a complaint with the CRTC at https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng
Also write to the Privacy Officer at the bank and let them know you have registered a complaint with PIPEDA and the CTRC. And dont accept a call back from their call centre to placate your complaint. Insist on only speaking to their Privacy Office directly.
Also put your name on the National Do Not Call List. In the future that is your defence if calls continue. It will take at least 31 days to take effect.

Several calls from this number over the past few weeks. This time I answered and male caller asked to speak to me, by name. I asked what I could do for him and he hung up. Strange! Appears to be a landline in Toronto but no details.

Got a call from this number today.  Reportedly they were calling on behalf of BMO Mastercard offering me something as a valued customer.  A Filipino lady who's accent so thick that she was difficult to understand said something about money for household renovations.  She offered to send me a package with the details and I agreed.  Then she said she had to finish her presentation first, but I said no thanks and hung up.  Can't believed she was actually calling on behalf of BMO but will call them to verify.

Got a call from that number, answered but nobody there, even waited a bit, (which I normally don't do because only telemarketers use autodialers - that 5-10 second pause is the switchboard grabbing the next available phone jockey). Couldn't find a name on the number using reverse lookup; think I'll just block the number.

They're still at it.

they call me everyday.  very annoying. never any messages left.

I get constant calls from this number. No one there when I pick up. Tried calling them to take them off my list but cannot. Very fed up.

I picked up the phone and was asked for my name, as soon as I said there are two people by that name he hung up.  I did a redial and the company name is IBEX Global, a call centre for a number of companies.  They will allow you to have your phone number added to their do not call list and they say it will take around 72 hours to take effect.

....just block them or pass the number onto the CANADIAN FRAUD dept....
I ONLY answer calls that I've logged into my phone....SO no name NOT answering, I've message system on so if it's important they'll leave a message.... OR NOT

I saw this number on my call display.  I called back.  

After a long pause, I heard a message (polished and corporate sounding) informing me that they were Ibex Global and that I had their number on my call display because one of their customers was using their telemarketer services.  They gave me an option to have my number removed from their Do Not Call registry.  I had a little problem with that, because my number was already on the Canadian Do Not Call registry.

So they may be trying to be polished etc. but still annoying telemarketers!

i am getting calls too, i answered once, no one was there, DONT answer if they call you. probably just seeing if your number exists.

Same as SUE above, caller (male, heavy accent) asked for my father (by his full name), I said he was unavailable and could I take a message?  He said "no message" and hung up.  I wasn't suspicious at first because area code is the same as people I know, but after checking here I'm concerned, how did he have my dad's name?

Male caller had heavy accent but what I made out was he's calling from iPex, representing BMO mastercard ... some home and auto extended legal insurance service. Needed to verify address info to send the package as per above. By this point I hung up.

Said it before, hacker groups should target their efforts against telemarketers!!!

Received a call from this number @ 6:17PM EST. Picked up but no answer. I'm with Telus.

I am also getting so many calls from this number. But no voice nothing.
petty irritating.  WHen I try to call back. no response comes

Didn't answer and no message. Presumably a nuisance call.

I have been getting these calls 2 to 3 times a day for the past 3 weeks.

People on the net seem to think it is related to BOM.

Was there a breach that might have caused this?

I have ungraded my phone service to block this number.
Can I pass this expense onto BOM?

I pick up the phone.  No answer.  I called back, it was a recording for TRG customer solution company.  They have been calling me for a week.  I have file a complain with tgh crtc.  Hope they will do something for me.

Got tired of ignoring lots of calls from this same number, so finally picked up. A female caller asked for me by name and claims to be calling on behalf of BMO Mastercard (lots of telemarking-type background-noise and tells me my call is being recorded). It's one of these sign-you-up-today-for-1-month-free things. They claim they'll send you literature and you can cancel later. Something about protection for home title etc.etc.

Buyer beware - I've since Googled this and found lots of raging comments from people who signed up for a deal that sounds a lot like this one and claim they got scammed.

garbage call from this number.

Call everyday a couple of times a day.  No one answers, when I call back it says all circuits are busy now

I picked up the phone, then the guy asked to talk to my husband (he called my husband name), when I asked to get a message, he said "no message." ,then hunged up quickly .Strange?
