Free cruise scam. Bogus survey. Want credit card info. Some of people above mention Ipsos name being used. About an hour after this call I got one from 514-904-3190 which is Ipsos number? They wanted me to take part in a survey. Maybe there is some connection? Suspicious.

They left a voice mail message and a text message on my cell phone to complete survey and win 2 tickets for a holiday. Added to reject list.

Received a call at 12:50 and again 1:40 no message left. Blocking this number.

It seem to be Toronto area caller. It seem to be a communcation cie. Are them trying to do frauds?

Just called my cell..   I don't answer long distance numbers I don't know.   No message left on answering machine...   Added to my block list with the rest of the trash.

Not exactly this number but very similar to it, my caller ID told me the call was coming from New Zealand, so, of course, I didn't answer. Even if it was freakin' Gandalf, I wouldn't have answered.

just got a call...I dont answer unknown numbers...they just hung up....how do they get out cell numbers. that is why I cancelled my home phone after 40 years and went to cell.

Received a call while at work and they left a message, only received middle of message: "to receive your tickets after your survey press 1 and to just answer survey press 9 ......... another "trip" scam, I assume.

There was no number on my phone just the string 16475565945 where the name would be and nothing where the telephone number would be. Obviously they are spoofing Ipsos Read Marketing to fool people into believing they are legitimate with the same tired old scam they've been peddling for centuries now. Don't bother getting your name taken off the Ipsos Read list it probably isn't on it in the first place. These goons are calling from offshore and they are based in Florida and this is who they really are:

Although with the number of times they've been busted they've probably moved next door. No matter how many times they are charged or fined they are up and running the next day with the exact same scam. Political connections and bribery? You figure it out.

I think this is a dead give away...ipsos Reid is a well-established Canadian survey company...and they would not give away a free cruise to the Bahamas for participating (this is the second clue of criminals scamming you). The first clue is that everyone reports this "company" as being ...ispos....not Ipsos. Of course if you are off-shore and making your living stealing from people, you are probably dumb and uneducated and can't spell enough even to copy a legitimate company's name.
Nothing in life is "free".

It's the "free cruise" scam.  Recorded message says you can get a free cruise to the bahamas after completing a survey.  After completing the survey you'll be asked for your credit card information to handle taxes or something.  Eventually you'll find out that there is no cruise and you have a bunch of unauthorized charges on your credit card.

Don't fall for this scam.

It's up to you to get a call blocker.

As well as my previous post from above, where I mentioned that they keep phoning me but with a different number, well I just got another phone call with the exact same message from 1-647-557-5013.

Mar.6/14 about 2:30pm.  No message left.  Thanks posters so I didn't waste another 30 seconds on these endless 'you've won..../fake survey' scammer calls.

See the RCMP Top Ten Scams website.  Also do a Search for "CBC Marketplace, To Catch a Telemarketer" (its worth getting through the commercials to learn how they operate.

Organized crime hires call centres and use computers to dial number after number; they don't know YOU, but they do sell/share/rent lists of valid phone numbers (so they try multiple schemes on you).  They use computers and offshore VoIP connections and fake/spoof the number they are calling from.  That's why you can't reach them if you try calling back - DON'T and don't press buttons to speak to an agent or 'get off their list' - these are crooks and they don't play by the rules.  They aren't real businsses.  They are trying various tricks to get any personal identifying information so they can pretend to be you - name, address, phone number, credit card or income level, most recently pretending to be a phone company and asking to verify who you are with and what your account number is - ANYTHING so they can create Fake IDs which are used to commit fraud with your name.

Don't answer 'Unknown Number', or just hang up.

Why do I need to make a long distance call to this number?
Seriously, how much can phone solicitation work? I know no one who entertains or enjoys this form of pestering!

I got a call from 6475565945 March 6, 4:45pm, no sound from this number.

Please do not call back this number back,I have heard that it is a scam to let you call back and charge your long distance fee

I get calls from these guys all the time (1 to 2 times per week).
I usually block the number, then delete the call, but then I get the same call again another time from another number.

They always seem to leave a message (which is a "free" cruise to the Bahamas).

I've done an audio-grab of their phone message, and uploaded this call to Box. The link to what this phone number leaves for you is attached. I understand that many of you are skeptical about clicking on links from strangers, but oh well, your choice.

I can't speak for Mysterica, but on the iPhone with iOS7 installed, to block a caller, just go to the phone app and along the very bottom of the screen, click the "Recents" tab. Each line of recent callers will have a small letter "i" in a small circle along the right edge of the screen. Select the "i" for the caller that you want to block. That will open up an "Info" screen for that caller. Scroll all the way to the very bottom of that page and select "Block this Caller".
If at any point in time you wish to unblock this contact, perform the same steps, but now "Block this Caller" now reads as "Unblock this Caller".
Sorry I can't help you for anything other than an iPhone as I'm unfamiliar with other platforms.
