Got two calls from this number today.

The annoying telemarketing calls seemed to have slowed down a bit over the winter but are coming fast and furious again along with the scam calls. These firms must have just have just gone through their three month cycle of firing and hiring new staff again ( so they wouldn't have to pay out benefits ) and they're starting to go through all of the numbers again....  LOL

Time to hook up that phone zapper I got for Xmas.

"Constant Research Network", google the name you will see their history.
They have operate since 2001. They use another pre-recorded message before,  it began with loud horns and soft bird noises followed by an pre-recorded message "Attention, This is your captain speaking. You have received 2 free boarding passes for all inclusive cruise.  All you have to do is answer 10 questions". I guess they must have the blessing from CRTC or RCMP to continue  their business(scam).

What rules must telemarketers follow when they call?
The CRTC has rules for telemarketing calls. For example, at the beginning of a call, the telemarketer must tell you why they?re calling and identify on whose behalf the call is being made. Telemarketers may only call you within specific calling hours. There are also rules limiting the use of Automated Dialing-Announcing Devices (ADADs).

What happens to a US telemarketer who violates the Canadian National Do Not Call List rules?
Telemarketers from the US, and other countries, making calls to Canadian consumers must still follow the CRTC?s Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules, including the National DNCL Rules.
If a Canadian organization hires a telemarketing agency outside of Canada, and there's a complaint against the organization, it will be investigated by the CRTC. If a telemarketer has violated the Rules, the CRTC may impose a penalty of up to $1500 per violation for individuals and up to $15,000 per violation for corporations.
Remember that whenever you receive a telemarketing call, you can ask the caller to add your phone number to their internal do not call list.

I received a telemarketing call that I think was fraudulent. What do I do?
Even if your telephone number is on the National DNCL, you may still receive fraudulent telemarketing calls. That?s why it?s important to always be on your guard. If you receive a call that you think may be fraudulent, contact your local police or The Canadian Anti Fraud Center (1-888-495-8501), a national anti-fraud service jointly operated by the RCMP, the Ontario Provincial Police, and the Competition Bureau.

How do I make a complaint about a telemarketing call?
If your number is on the National DNCL, and you still receive telemarketing calls more than 31 days after you registered, you can file a complaint.
You can also make a complaint if you have received a telemarketing call that breaks any of the Telemarketing Rules, such as calls made to you outside of allowable calling hours, or calls made using an Automated Dialing-Announcing Device (ADAD).
The full set of Rules can be found on the Telemarketing information page in the Consumers section of the CRTC website. You can also read a condensed version of the Rules in the National Do Not Call List and Telemarketing Rules.

You can make a complaint online or by phone.

Online:
Go to the National DNCL Web site

By phone:
  Call toll-free 1-866-580-DNCL (1-866-580-3625) or
Call 1-888-DNCL-TTY (1-888-362-5889) only if you are calling from a TTY device.

When filing a complaint, you must provide the following information:
name and/or number of the telemarketer
  date of the telemarketing call
  nature of the complaint
contact information, such as name, address, and telephone number

I get a call from this number EVERY morning around 9am. I don't pick up as I won't answer call from numbers I don't recognize. It's still annoying, as I have to run to check the call display in case it's a family member or friend calling.

They called me yesterday at 12:00 pm here in Calgary.  It's just a scam.  Congratulations you've won a free cruise for 6 people.  I hung up.  I've had this call before on the following numbers:
647-556-5406
647-556-5945
647-557-4953
647-557-5065

Looks like they have a large group of numbers to annoy us with.  The scam goes like this.  You've won a free cruise for 6 people.  Sounds great.  But, they want you to pay them up front for 4 of the people. ($5,000.00 per person, totaling $20,000.00)  Of course they promise they will return you $20,000.00 within 6 months of you taking the cruise.  How stupid do they think we are?  Anyway, another number to block.

You have been receiving this call every 2-3 days ?
Pressing 9 didn't work ? I'll bet, don't be surprised
if they call 2-3 times a day. Now they know your #
is good to go. It will probably be passed around to
other bottom feeders, to continue the cycle of tele-
torture. Shouldn't of answered.

It's too bad our Governments don't take this issue
seriously, you can read the posts on this site, going
back years, that people are enduring this abuse. My
concern for the elderly, who are being intimidated
by these piss-tanks, who prey on them like a python.
I don't subscribe to DNC lists, or any www.report fraud
site that couldn't care less. I'd rather watch paint dry.

Prank Call
DON'T press 9 to be removed from their call list. All you're doing by pressing 9 is sending a signal to them informing them that your telephone number is active. You'll keep getting repeated calls. Plus, these pharm-ers will add you to even more lists and you'll get even more spam calls. This is a 100% bonafide scam, folks. These scammers are affiliated with porn and online drug sales. Avoid them at all costs and report them to the RCMP link I posted above. They'll eventually nail 'em.

Similar to others who have commented here... a recording message, a female voice starting with "Congratulations!" that goes on to say you've won a cruise. I've received this message every 2-3 days for the last month. The option to hit 9 to be removed from the call list hasn't worked so far! :)

Prank Call
Online pharm site calling from hundreds of blocks of numbers. Calling repeatedly one call after another. Running from a Quebec warehouse apparently. I've reported every single call to:

And will continue to do so until they're caught. I hope you do the same if you're reading this.

DNC Help Help !

Serious, I can't believe people today. DON'T ANSWER
NUMBERS YOU DON'T KNOW, OR PRESS ANYTHING. Your
confirming an active line. Same by pressing 9 or any
number. They will pass your # to other scumbags.
The DNC is a waste of time and not to be trusted. Use
you Call Display to the max. If you don't have it, get it.
If you don't answer, it frustrates THEM more.

I still get calls from these dorks, but I've managed to
keep it to a minimum. Friends and family know how
to get a hold of me. Block #'s if you can, just don't
pick up. Eventually, they'll F' off.

Sorry to keep repeating this issue, but I just can't
understand why people give in to these tele-trolls
by playing their game.
