I keep on recving txt from this phone number and it is really disturbing and annoying.. any way we can block it

This number has been harassing my phone number for a couple years now. From what I can figure out is that its a virus that came through Facebook. Then it locked onto my contact list in my hotmail account. Proceeded to send emails out to my contacts every day or 2nd day. I noticed that it would pick the recipients from my list by randomly selecting 10-12 for each mass email sending session. The contents of the email made it look like it was sent by me and I was making a comment about having found a video that the recipient is in and how shocking the video is. And a link to the "video" is ready for recipient to click. The title of the link usually has the word "viagra" in it, though not always the case. When/if the link is clicked..."weird... Nothing happens..." Wrong! The mass emailer virus (or worm?) will now attempt to penetrate into their contact list and so on. Contacting your phone service provider won't help. It's not coming from them they are jus the middle man. Truly I don't know who to contact about the problem. That's why I've been tolerating with it for as long as I have. So that's what I have come to believe regarding the origin of this pest. Sorry I don't offer a solution. And I hope my explanation can be understood. Any questions or clarifications or better yet a definitive solution are welcome and encouraged.

Same as above, I upgraded my phone and am now getting two messages each day at about 2:28PM, from both 647-580-0171 AND 647-580-0170. Called Telus to see what could be done and they had no idea what I was talking about.. they said they would "escalate my concern" and that I would be sent a text message when they found out!

Same thing here; I upgraded to a new handset and it started right away from 647-580-0171 AND 647-580-0170. Called my carrier, TELUS, and they said that there is nothing they can do. I have received 187 text messages in 6 days.
