rang my cell 3 rings,
then hung up,
no message.  
Re-dial states "the number you have called is not assigned".

If it's not assigned, how can it call ?

Hong Kong subscribers to the "0060" IDD plan may be identified with the "(647) 722-6850" number among others. I received a call from this number but didn't pick up, since HK numbers usually display as "unknown" but realized it was a legit call after checking voicemail.

I've gotten 3 calls from this number in the past few months.  Everytime I pick it up, I hear an inaudible voice/noise then the line cuts off.  I called the number back and it doesn't work essentially.  Very suspicious and annoying!

Called a call at home this morning, I didn't answer since I was getting ready to leave.  Saw the number 647-722-6850 on display.  I find it suspicious 'coz I notice this number has been calling our home everyday (usually in the morning).  I called back (hiding my own number).  Funny thing is all I got was an automated message that said "This number is not in service, pls try your call again".

Call (5) times to my cell phone.

Female caller, who spoke English very well, asked if I spoke Chinese.  I asked who she was and she simply asked again if I spoke Chinese.  She said she was calling from Hong Kong.  I asked her why my display showed a local number (647-722-6850).  Then she said "oh, I have the wrong number."  Before she could hang up, I quickly told her to never call my number again and if she did, I would report the number to the RCMP fraud centre.
