I got the same message, I did some deep dive digging and found this number to  be owned by some guy name AJ Hayer, from Toronto, some Activist that belongs to religious G had groups

647-771-8285 "Do u have time for guys now?" Sent at 8:51am. No idea who this is. Goggles it and a wedding website popped up with a bunch of debt web pages and the name Matt Sullivan. No idea who that is. I don't know anyone by that name. Haven't responded. Unsure if I should or if I should call.

I too keep getting these messages. It is for a bestbuy gift card. Also, It deducts .30 mins from my prepaid phone. Pisses me off. How do you block these calls?

I receivedthe following text msg from 804-873-2940:  "You have just won a $1000 Walmart Gift Card, enter "1000" at http://walmart.com.promotwm/  After I entered the code,  I saw a timer showing the number of minutes and seconds remaining and a red tab on which to click.  I suspected it was a scam and that the tab might be a link to a virus.  Everything lookded even more suspicious when minutes later my husband received the same text on his phone from 804-873-5229.

Received the same message from"Tracy" being "someone I'm suppose to remember."  I have friends from Canada and have had Tracy's in my past but basically text back and told them I was too busy to be bothered.  So far have not heard from "Tracy" again.  THANK GOODNESS!!!  GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

who ever gets an text messages from best buy saying their giving away over stock items need to contract the store an verfity everything. An do not give any information about yourself to anyone over the phone or text.

I have ignored this also, what is it about???

This number showed on a text message telling me I'd been selected for a Best Buy $1000 giveaway.  Our cell numbers are on the Do-Not-Call list and we have to pay for every text message, so I called Best Buy; they don't know anything about this.  I also see that this number was used in December to generate calls/messages about contacting someone on a social site.  I think what's really happening is that it's a phishing scheme wanting you to go to the website included in the message where they can get other information on you.

Received a text claiming I had won a $1,000 Best Buy card.......to redeem go to http://redeem7.com/v/?i4h5e79. Didn't even bother lookin into it just wanted to report it, must bea scam.

Just got same message about the bestbuy I have no idea how it got my number at all

who thinks best buy would give anythig away when they already have some of the highest prices around. got the text to reply to redeem7.com/v/1ci65ld3 blocked my number and called back to see who or what would answer and got a lady said the person you are calling is busy at this time and it was a computer generated message

I also received a message for a $1000 BestBuy Overstock shopping spree, but mine came from (647)704-7145 w/a link to mywish2.com/m/1ffhfd01.  Sounds like a ring of scammers.

Your service provider will charge you for RECEIVING these texts, in addition to charging you for any potential "stop" reply from you. Good luck trying to get your service provider to respond respectfully, responsibly, in a timely fashion and professionally.... won't happen. If it does, let us all know so that we can change phone services. This is what the texter is counting on as they steal from you.

In the meantime, this spam/marketing company not only bills your "unlimited free" phone/text/data/email/internet service plan somehow, but it gets your plan to add the $0.10 or more to your account for each in/out text. My service plan/provider actually stopped my service because their computer said I had a negative balance on my account based on these texts! I don't even have that type of account where a balance exists. THEY allowed this criminal operation to get into their system and charge me when I am not supposed to be charged for ANYTHING other than my monthly fee.

I have spoken to my plan's customer service 40-50 times in the last 5 days, and they are so awful and stupid that they can't even grasp the fact that per my service plan I am not supposed to be charged for texts of any size, shape or form...NONE! This thief has figured out how to bypass all service provider safeguards.

Not responding to this unknown text does not matter, they have your number and will keep sending texts, and charges will be added to your account. You will have to get your plan provider to block that number on your behalf. It does not work if you take the standard steps to block the 647-771-5477 number on your own.

Got a text this morning from this number, Best Buy $1000 giveaway, redirects to random website not named bestbuy.com...definitely a scam.
