You should always ask for a letter on company letterhead stating that the debts been paid and the agreement that was made. Call the company that you owed and complain

i got call first a call from 1855 788 4048. they asked for my father. i asked who is calling. the guy mumbled the name of a company, said it was about a cafe-resto business my father owned, and he never did. SCAMERS. very rood. told me i had to give the number of my father. i blocked their numbers

this number calls often... never leaves a message ... so annoying

just called me. blacklisted.

this is collections and it's SUPER ANNOYING! we got a new phone and the last lady who had our number apparently never paid her bills! this isn't the only company who calls us Grrrr!

This number has been calling my sons cell phone for weeks. I called the number back and they said they were a collection agency for capital one but the name they gave me for the phone wasn't anyone I know. I told them to take the number off the list! They said it would be done within 24 hours..... Guess I'll see

my  account was  sold to this company  it is very old  past the 7 yr to collect is there anything i can do so they  will stop bothering me and call me ?

Really tired of this number calling all hours of the day. Sometimes one or two rings!

They left me alone for a long time and now they are calling 3-4 times a day. They still have not sent me any paper work describing the proof that I asked for

the issue I have with this company is the debt is for the previous owner of my new number I have told them id say 10 times and they still cant stop calling on an average they call me 4 times a day I used to be realitively civil now im just rude I know they are doing a job but come on I think its borderline harassment

Have been getting 10+ calls/day from this moron.  I have a cell phone that isn't registered in my name and have only given out the number to close friends.  Thus, they are calling a wrong number.  Given that I want to keep my anonymity, contacting any of the agencies regarding these scum is out.  Just wish I could afford to hire a hit man to give these POS a message they could understand.

I don't understand why a collection agency would be calling me, the phone isn't even in my name, and the person whose name it is in claimes bankruptcy 4-5 years ago, fricken idiots

Called at 7:04 this morning, gave the guy a blast when I had to ask 3 times who he was to get a rude snotty answer.
Never got a reason for his call, cut him off said I was making a call about this call as it is being recorded!!! He hung up on me mid sentence!!!

getting calls from before 7am an throughout the day. Got told 'you are being a c***' and then they hung up.

They call me at work now. B@stards are going to get me in trouble.

Constantly calling, all hours of the day and night.  Gave up asking, begging and demanding that they stop calling this number.  Explained many, many times, this is a place of employment with after hours/emergency calls forwarded to home and the person they are looking for is NOT at this number.  Calls continue relentlessly. The caller has gotten rude, threatening and generally obnoxious many times when asked to please stop calling here.  

Filed a complaint with the CRTC yesterday and registered on the  "do not call list".  Won't know for 31 days if that works or not.  

PLEASE...EVERYONE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE CRTC.  THESE A**LES NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN.

And the Collection Agency is ALSO required to give FULL disclosure of their name, address and number.

If YOU want to go around giving anyone who calls YOUR personal info so they can steal your identity, then YOU are a FOOL.

Keeps calling every morning except Sundays between 7-7:30am. Only rings 2x and never leaves a message. It's like my own personal wake-up service.

They call me every day, today it started at 7:20am (yesterday it was 7:02am). I asked them to call me after 6 when it's free and they didn't call back until this morning. What can I do? What are the current laws regarding collectors?

that is harrassment.  By law a collenctions company can not call more than once a day.

They call every morning at one minute after 7. The person does not even live here. Tried to block the nuber but it keeps calling.

I became so fed up with their antics I filed a complaint with the BC BBB where their head office is located, as well as the ONT provincial consumer office. Within the required three weeks I received an suitable answer from the BBB and the ONT office. So far I have been holding my breath for a month and no phone calls. Hopefully this is a permanent improvement.

I got a call this morning for a debt they say i owe for 2000$ on a mastercard. I never owned a mastercard. My phone number is private. Ill not give you guys any of my f****ng money
