What can a collector trying to collect on 20 yr old tickets from Ontario do to my credit report

The debt from tickets (City of Toronto) are sold to the collection agency to offset the cost to the city written off as  'bad' debt.  THEN you would no longer be on file for those tickets BUT heres where the collection agency gets aggressive because they bought your debt, they are in the hole until they collect from YOU.

they call at unreasonable times too - this morning at 7:47 a.m.!!  Another time at 7 a.m. I thought there was a law about that?

I got two calls from this number today - I've had this phone # from Bell Mobility for only 4 weeks...
I had to wait a day to get a 604 area code that was free'd up # because I didn't want a local 778 cel area code...!

Luckily my Samsung has an auto reject list function allowing me to block up to 100 numbers...

this debt  collector , called me and leave a message on my voice mail, without knowing who I am and even if owe any money. These guys should be stop from call people unless they have accurate info.  This is Harassment.

Received call from this number many times they say they will remove number from their data base but it never happens.

Same as many above they tried telling me 3 years ago I owed for a ticket in Toronto. I never got a ticket. I asked that they tell me what it was for and the women on the other end of the line said I must have run a red light or had some other infraction while driving in the city. When I told he I don't even have a car she tried to say I must have gotten a fine for sneaking onto the TTC then. IDIOTS, lol!. So I asked them to send me a copy of the ticket in the mail and they never did.

They used to call everyday and for the past three years I've been ignoring the calls. I have them flagged as Spam on my i-phone. The longer you ignore them the less they call. They maybe call once every two to three weeks now.

Oh way back when they first tried to get money from me they told me that if I didn't pay I would be unable to renew my license, or passport. Both have been done this year and after doing a personal credit score no outstanding debt shows up from this company.

They call me every day at least three times and are asking if i am related to a certain person.  WTF!  Are they f****ng kidding me....Leave me alone!

Received message with threat that this is last message for pending payment.   No idea for whom.

This number has been calling my house since last year. One time this phone number called my house the number is 647-788-4041 this number is similar to 647-788-4093. Very suspicious.

I have received calls from them for years....today they called 6 times (every 1:06 hrs) LOL they want me to pay a ticket from 2004. Well then why didn't they ask for the money when I renewed my registration and license ever???? I had to pay a fine in 2007 when they suspended my license. why didn't it come up on their computers then??? it's now 2013 give me a break...the Toronto Police Department is trying to get people to pay fines as far back as 1990.....Oh Please. They are just annoying and will break every law to get money, even if you paid all your outstanding debts back in 2007. I give up on them. They wont prove that I owe the money so I'm not paying SHlT. I said if it were true, just put it against my license or registration, if not "F' OFF!

Yup collections agency, was able to speak with someone to attempt to have my new work cell number removed from the list.  I am ever hopeful but not expecting it to be.  Wish me luck!

CBV collections has been contracted by the city of Toronto to collect ANY outstanding tickets or fines going back over 15 years. These rat b*****ds can chase me till the end of time - not gonna see one red cent !

They called me about a traffic ticket they say i owed before i even started driving. Which i don?t  owe. They only had my first and last name (and not even Kimberly just kim), an address that I?ve never had and a license plate that wasn?t mine on the file. i explained to them that it wasn?t my ticket and that was the end of that... until the next call... sneaky buggers when they "verified my information" in the last call they used that information to put in there system and tried to say it was my ticket and had all this info on me to prove it i.e.. FULL name, date of birth and address.... what i learned from this, DONT GIVE ANYONE ANY INFO

Daily calls On a demo cell phone number. Never given out to anybody.
I just called them to aslk who they are and who they collect for, but they would not give any info and he repeatedly kept asking for my number (which I actually don't know , as its just a demo phone) and then he hung up.
Gonna add this phone to the donotcall list and see what happens. Let me find that phone number.

they call me a few times a day - i don't pick up anymore - the first time they told me i had debts with City of Toronto for tickets - they always call on my cell phone which is a company phone that i've only had for a year.  I checked with the City of Toronto and they said I don't have any debts with them...the collection agency said I need to confirm my address before they will send anything out - I told them I've lived in the same house for over 20 years and have also had the same phone number so why would they be calling me on a business cell phone # that I just started using recently.  Still have not received anything in the mail.  They have never ever left me a voice mail - I just leave my phone on vibrate now and immediately push the cancel button when I see their number on my call display.  Both people I've spoken to are cocky and don't want to give you any info - but expect you to "confirm" your information. I asked them to tell me what they had on file and I would tell them yes or no, but they said they couldn't do it that way - good try idiots....and I have since found out they do collect for the City of Toronto

These ashole calling me every day . They never leave any message . If they are collection agency , they can go to hell, Don't bug me ashols.

It's called cvv collections...The whole thing seemed very sketchy to me, I refused  to give any info, but welcomed that they send me a letter containing the info on what I owe. The guy on the other line was kinda flustered and nice.. 2 things debt collectors never are. We'll see what happens.

I hear you. They called my cell phone many times. However, I did not pick up since my personal rule is not to pick up if you don't know the number. If the call is legit then a legit message will be left by the caller. It the pain in the @ss dealing with these @ssholes.

These pices of garbage called me while I was out and - when I tried to return the call - I was sent through a menu system that hung up on me before I could leave them a message.
