Hello everyone. same thing just happened to me here in kitchener. is there anyway of getting this guy? really pisses me off he tries to scam people like this. Will or can the police do anything if i get the guy and bring him to the police station?

Put my van up this morning. Got a text right away. This is the second time this week!!! Different person or at lest contact name. DO THESE PEPOLE HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO THEN TRY AND SCAM US!!! Told him to go F*#k himself.

It's a scam. Another post on a different thread told  how the buyer sets up a very convincing PayPal page,which is obviously fake.  So you lose your car and don't get paid.

why would he want to make payment for a car  through pay pal only

I was desperate to sell my car, so i send him interior pictures and pictures of engine. However one thing is keep bothering me that , how can you make anf offer on a car without a test drive :)

I think dude is a plug after reading all these messages, asked for all kinds of pics of my car, but I won't give him vin#, big internet scam where they burn you for your wheels, usually comes out of the US, based from India where they jump cell #'s all over the US, careful

But know he changed his email to "sdaily001@hotmail.com" and his new name is Scott Daily!  But he still uses the same phone number -6477942097! He asked for the same thing here interior pics and engine pics...

This guy responded to my email as well except I have a second acct name for him as well. Got word for word the exact same story. Will post the second name in a minute

I too received the very same text as John D above asking for engine and interior pics after my fiancée posted our vehicle on kijiji. Said to email him at rmjohn32@gmail.com. Are people actually that dumb to use paypal with someone whom you've never even met and want your vehicle sight unseen?! WOW....

I just ran into this character this morning after reporting my car on kijiji, offered a good price than mentioned pay pal, which immediately threw up a red flag for me, must be pretty stupid to keep using the same name, number, and email. Same exact story too. Thank you to all the previous poster's for writing about this guy.

Oh yes he said he would buy my truck unseen and pay with PayPal but then said he needed me to help him and send 900 by western union to pay his pickup agent obviously if he doesn't have any money's he can't buy the truck.Is a shame that the police care about tickets not fraud

Looks like rmjohn32@gmail.com is resurrecting the old scam; I have a vehicle for sale on 'Kijiji in the Ontario, Canada (Greater Toronto area) 'cars for sale' section. Had an SMS message from: 647 794 2097 asking for pictures of interior and engine; he then offered me $100 over asking, same story: offshore oil rig worker, likes and wants the vehicle, needs to pay via Paypal etc, etc. someone else will pick up the vehicle
Buying a car sight unseen without so much as verifiable exchange of information; who does that? And who are the fools that let go of their property without having gone to the bank and actually seeing the funds (I mean cash$$ in my wallet) The only safe way of receiving money, other than at a bank with the buyer handing over the money that you've just witnessed having been withdrawn, is through bank-to-bank wire transfer and even then I won't release the goods until I've withdrawn the cash. Any other way leaves the buyer open to being a victim of fraud (No moneygram, bank draught, postal money order etc is safe from being reversed at a later date)
Funny, but 647 is a Toronto cell# so he must have accomplices here in Toronto.
