We get the same in Canada with US numbers so they can circumvent the do not call list - that list was another total waste of taxpayer monies in both our countries because the telemarketers figure it out.  At my office we probably get up to 15 telemarketing calls a day but we ignore them at home they are starting to diminish.

This is Roger's Plus Store. You get only half a recorded message. I assume it is a reminder to return movies.

I'm using rogers and I called 611 to get my line fixed. They said they would do a reset, while I'm waiting for them to call back this is the number that people get on their call display when I ring them.

I had to look it up to see why and from the other comments I'd agree that it is a call forwarding number.

I think they have nothing better to do f****n f****r.

I just got three calls this morning from this number, didnt answer and they left no message. I live in NWT

I suspect that number is a relay of some kind for "outside" numbers to reach yukon residence. When I get that number on my display it's invariably the bank calling for whatever (HQ in Toronto). In the Yukon it's a Bell thing. If you block the number then it could also possibly block other people/companies you DO want to have contact you as they could be routed through the same number. Silly Bell/Northwestel.

Just called me numerous times with no answer on their end.  I just added them to my phone ignore list so the phone calls will no longer go through.  I just stayed at a hotel in Edmonton and they required that I list my number.  Seems related.

I just got a call from this number on my cell, turns out it was my friend phoning from Calgary, weird. I'm also in the Yukon.

Just got a call from this number could hear some noise someone fiddling with something but no one answered.

My wife has called me from BC a couple of times recently and the number that shows up on my cell is 647-837-3080 and not her home number. What is up with that? Why is her real number not showing on my call display?

Our alarm systems are monitored in the U.S. almost every call is being routed through the Toronto Call Centre at the 647-837-3080. 95% of the calls from the monitoring company come through with no sound. I also have serval contacts in the U.S. and British Columbia who are routed through this number. The same result is consistent. How can we get out of that routing?

You think you are alone! Just a dumb Canadian here responding to you. I get the same calls from the telemarketing companies ; many of whom are calling from the U.S. I don't blame you for being upset, but 2 wrongs don't make a right.

I think this is a number that is associated with a pre-paid calling card people...   Not telemarketers....

The same things have been happening to me.  Except no message yet on my voice mail or someone talking.  I live in the Yukon as well and I am getting frustrated.

This number has been calling for months.  It varies on what happens.  Sometimes I say hello and there is nothing sometimes it is static.  The number also pops up on my call display when my children are calling exspecially my one child who lives out of province.  For the longest time I thought that it was just a glitch in the phone lines and that her number just did not show, that this one did.  Then it started showing up when other people called even people who live here in the same city.  I then went to my cell phone provider and changed my number.  The very next day my child who lives out of province called me and it showed up again.  That was today, I called my service provider again and they do not know why it is happening.  I am getting very frustrated.  It is also calling on my landline, just not as much as my cell phone.  Someone said to me maybe it is like a virus through the internet, I am not sure.  I just am fed up and want it to stop.  When I tried to register this on the internet to stop it would not accept my area code, so I called the 888 number. It still took a few trys to go through the whole message and I am not sure that it did go through. I guess I will find out.  Is there any other way to register that it will accept my area code?

Try this for the 'do not call' link which work for Canada and USA. You can also put in a more personal complaint on this site--so write away and maybe we can get this guy shut down!

Am sick and tired of getting these calls--and on my cell at that! And yes, I am Canadian--so they are hassling us too--whoever 'they' are!! Getting really choked and have reported the number!
