As soon as it started out "this is a recorded call from Canadian Police Assoc"  I gave a terse "NO".  Cops already suck $1500 a year from my property tax and I'll be damned if I ever give them one penny!!

I also got this call this morning from 647-847-1061 - The CPA (Canadian Police Association)  - initially automated, then male American (slow drawl) voice.  After he made his pitch about cyber bullying he asked if he could he count on my support. I said no since I already donate regularly to 6 childrens' charities.  He then became rude and hung up.  I called back and the recording that I heard was that it was the Canadian Police Association (CPA).  So, I emailed the anti-fraud unit of the RCMP to let them know.  Never ceases to amaze me - the absence of conscience with which some people operate.

I was waiting for a call and answered without looking, the guy said his stuff and I told him I had already donated but would call the police to make sure they had gotten my donation.  He hung up very quickly & when I called back no one answered.

I received a call from this number today and the gentleman identified himself as calling on behalf of Front Line Support collecting donations for the Canadian Police Association.  The Canadian Police Association runs the Cops for Kids Safety program to which I have donated in the past.  I only donated one time since the following year, instead of soliciting a donation they simply sent an invoice making it appear as if I owed them money.  That's a little unethical when raising funds for the police in my opinion.

Something about this call sounded odd as he didn't mention the Cops for Kids Safety program (which they usually describe in detail) and only spoke about how bullying in schools and cyber-bullying was a big issue that needed awareness raised.  I suspect at this point the only thing people have more awareness of would be breast cancer.  I ended the call and did a little research and found an RCMP warning about a telemarketing scam claiming to raise money for anti-bullying.

I called back this number back and a voice message comes on to say it is the Canadian Police Association.  It gives you options and one is to have your number removed from their call list.  Even though that is what the message tells you, I do not like to give my number to anyone I am not 100% sure that they are being truthful and are what they say they are.  Too many scams out there and really, who can you trust !

I received this call today as well.  Since it has been identified above I will block it with my phone. If you are in the market for a new roam style phone, I have a Panasonic and it allows me to block calls which I love.  You just press save and it prompts you to add it to your Phonebook or Call Block.

Apparently this is a fraud.

Save your money on a call blocker.
 Last I heard is that the law states that if you specifically tell them to add your number to their Do Not Call List, they are required to do so.  If you do not specifically tel them dto do so,, they're under no obligation to do so.
I live in  an apartment and used to get calls all the time for duct cleaning I told them several times that I don't have ducts, and told them to add me to their DNC list.. now no more calls.

 Under Canadian law, there are penalties for these unsolicited calls. Fines of up to $5000 for every number called.
If they called 1000 people in a day for a month, that'll shut them down right quick.

(If they get caught, that is.)

The REAL police are already investigating this as a scam... don't give these people your credit card number!

The dude presented himself as Paul Bailey (or Dailey) and said he is calling on behalf of Canadian Police Association (CPA). The reason for call is anti-bullying campaign. Apparently for $300, $200 or $100 you can get a red ribbon and become a proud supporter :-) ....

The hell was that? Just hang up and save your time.

This is an automated robocaller for the "Canadian Police Association."  Why they keep calling, is beyond me, as i've not or never signed up for anything to do with, directly, or indirectly with anything by any kind of Law Enforcement?? Your best bet, is to either buy a call blocking device, or subscribe to Call Screening with your landline provider, as mine says very bluntly, "The person you are calling, has chosen to not receive your call at this time. Thanks you!!". So far, i've blocked ALL of these annoying callers, and it's so nice to not have them calling at all hours of the day and night, with utter disregard to who their callings feelings or moods etc on these constant bullsh*t callers, well, the Call Screening can be activated almost instantly from your landline provider, or if you buy a Call Blocker from somewhere like Best Buy or another electronics store, get the good one, they're usually a bit pricey, but well worth the money!! Same here - it was about CPA asking for donations for anti-bullying kids program. If CPA would like to do so, they could have provide some sort of info or brochure and sending them out with proper contacts if anyone wants to ask further questions. The call did not sound legit to me and i hung up.

This number has called our home every single day of the week starting a few weeks ago. When I answered (once or twice) no one had responded. Very creepy. The phone calls are at any time of day (morning, afternoon or early evening).

Call received 2014-02-11, allegedly from the Canadian Police Association.  It was a pre-recorded male voice set up to ask questions re supporting an initiative for kids (anti-bullying?).  I declined and phoned the CPA in Ottawa at 613-231-4168.  From an automated system I learned that CPA contracts to iMarketing Solutions Inc. to raise funds through telemarketing for a kids' initiative.
The question I'd have is, how does one know that the incoming call is actually iMarketing Solutions Inc. and not a scammer spoofing the number.  I think the only method with some degree of security would be to contact them (or the CPA) yourself through a phone number that you know for sure is theirs, or through iMarketing's Web site.  Even then, a huge percentage of the money likely gets siphoned off to fund the telemarketer.

First time I picked it up - nobody there...now we just don't answer it.

Someone from this number calls twice a day at least - and has done so for several weeks. I never answer. Wish they would go away.

Yes, I got an 'anti bullying' call too...Wanted donations for something parents and teachers should ALREADY being teaching our children...They said they were from CPA (whatever that means...)

I just received call from 647-847-1061 for donations for anti bullying and automated system start from 200, 300 and end up for 25 or 30$. then i transferred to real person. I refused to give my information over the phone for like this and he hung up.

I keep getting calls from this number...every day!  It's annoying!  I've just stopped answering them now.
