I found out who these people are.
I chose option 1, which only prompted me to leave a message. I faked interest, said I have $30 000 in debt. Next day I got a call, and the guy was happy to tell me all about their company.

Continue to get calls from this caller even after pressing "2" to be removed.  Getting calls at work, cell phone and home.

Can anybody try to get the name of the company offering to help you?  It would go a long way for all of us to be able to report it as spam or provide more information to the anti-telemarketers.

Had several calls over the last few weeks from this and other numbers, all for the same "Due to the current economic crisis.." debt reduction plan, and all to my unlisted cell phone.  I want to know how they got my number, and how do I get them to stop.  I don't trust their "dial 2 to be removed from our calling list" option, since they shouldn't have my number in the first place!

I have received calls from the same number at home and now to my cell phone. I hate to receive phone calls from companies offering services, surveys, etc to the point that I do not reply my phone unless is phone that I know.

How do I get into the no call list?

They just called me as well, I didn't pick up and they called right back so I picked up and it's automated, mentioned an economic crisis as previous commenter said. I hung up and they have not called back.

Yes, spam phone calls from Credit Consolidator. Most of my office workers are getting these calls too repeatedly.

Just got the same call left a voice message about debt consolidation as well didn't listn to the whole thing. Deleted it immediately

Rules on dealing with unknown #s that I follow

1.- don't answer the phone if you don't recognise the number, let it go to voice mail, message will be left if important.
2.- if you do answer, don't even push any numbers if prompted, even to "remove from list", it will only send confirmation that it's a good number and you'll find your calls from said number will increase dramatically, just hang up

They called me yesterday and today about a world economic crisis and debt reduction programs. I hit the button to speak to someone (to give them a piece of my mind) and the system hung up. They called me again today and I tried the number back twice and it does the same thing.

these people called my cell straight three times back to back until i answered only to here the sameessage u guys got. i was driving and it was rush hour. they called me off the hook i thought someone was dying. these giys gotta be stopped

I received the same call regarding debt consolidation. No company name, contact or phone number indicates scam to me. This place needs to go down!

I got a VM with the same message everybody else got.

Actually, if you look at the Canadian Numbering Administrator listing, the 847 exchange belongs to Fibernetics Corporation, which offers free business phone lines.  I would contact them regarding one of their clients annoying a fair amount of people and if they get bombarded enough, they might do something about it.

Got the call for the third time.
There was a pause for about a second and recoreded message starting with "Due to national economic crisis in canada. If you have unsecured debt of...."
Then I hung up the phone.
