People who are vindictive and manipulative will try to prove that they are right, even if it means lying or pretending to be someone they are not. A real, responsible president of any company or group does not spend their time on online forums trying to prove that the truthful accusations against them are wrong. A real president has other things to do then to pose as a happy customer. In reality, all the customers have been scammed. The "company" found some way to infect people's computers, including the one I am currently using to type this message, and infected them with fake pop ups and anti virus software claiming that their computer is virus infested, but in reality it is not. Then, they have Indian callers from over seas posing to be from Google or Gooseberry or whatever (and evidently reside in the U.S) to sway the victim to purchase the scam software. It is a very clever idea. But people are getting scammed and this needs to end. Isn't it ironic that the virus is the anti-virus software? This was definitely planned.

Well my father keeps getting these calls for probably a month now. He 's not really technologically advanced so I had to do my research of the call . They call him and they know his name. They ask about his computer and that there are issues with it. Well, our computer was very virusy so we took it to a place to get the entire computer wiped out so we could start anew. There were ads popping up and there was a antivirus software. Lately there have been ads popping up and fake anti virus software saying that everything is wrong with our computer and that all the drivers are not properly installed. This denies us access to open some applications with the pop up. Everytime the computer turns on, a black box appears quickly then disappears. I try to delete virus but there are countless folders of dftblahblah garbage. I don't know how they know we have viruses. It must be some huge scheme. I asked my dad if he entered his personal info into the pop up, he told me no. I dom't know how they know that information about him. It is a scam and the calls are not stopping. Smart HDD or or the other strange viruses on the computer need to get rid of but I am not paying to be ripped off. They did it to our computer somehow.

I just got a call from a representative saying my hard drive was infected! This seemed fishy since I have antivirus protection on my computer. They asked for access codes and told me do not use my computer until they call back (I told them I was away from my computer right now) Then I decided to look up Gooseberry and this is what I found thanks guys I almost made a mistake!

I received a call from this company as well. They claimed to have received information from Microsoft that my computer is infected.
Seriously? They want me to believe that Microsoft is somehow going to obtain and transmit my phone number to a third-party company. When I insisted they tell me how they got my phone number, the guy changed his tune and says "oh, well we're calling because it's possible for Windows computers to get infected".
This is a very shady business. Since my phone number is on the federal Do Not Call list, and they attempted to call me three times today, I am filing suit in my local small claims court for $500 x 3 = $1500. I also reported them to the Ontario Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint on the FCC do not call list site.

Good questions! What is funny is that the broken-English Indian guy who called me said the same thing. I told him I had no clue who they were and did not feel comfortable discussing my computer or usage with them. LOL

I just got the same call and am very computer saavy too. My husband is a computer programmer and former professional (ethical) hacker. He has taught me very well. I knew this was a scam! LOL

SCAM ALERT EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT!!! I just got a phone call from 415-424-4032. It was a foreign man, with very broken English and hard to understand, calling from a call center. He states that that he is calling from Gooseberry and that they received a notification from my computer that there was a virus on my harddrive. He was very insistent. I told him that I do not have a Gooseberry program on my laptop and that my laptop is running just fine. He insisted that there was a virus and that they needed to help me clean my laptop. I told him that I had never heard of Gooseberry and that I did not feel comfortable discussing my computer or computer usage with him. He kept trying to make me think he knew what he was talking about. I am so glad that my husband has taught me well about computer viruses and hackers and that I knew this did not sound right. I hung up on the guy, then I looked up Gooseberry on Google and found this forum!

I just received a call from them and was told my hard drive was being infected. They wanted me to go to my computer and then they said they would tell me what to do. I kept asking who they were...they stated Gooseberry Tech - I advised I wasn't near my computer and asked for a number to give them a call back on. They did mention several times that they were working with Google and they had been informed of my computer issues. Needless to say...I am very computer savvy and know not to give random people any personal information.

To Mr Brody (President of iHorse, Inc.) I have tried to contact you personally at your office in Canada as listed on the BBB website but I can not reach you. I have a few questions about gooseberrytech.com
1 Do you employ a lady named Stacy White in CA in the USA?
2 Is 510 768-8586 a phone number for your company?
3 Is 800 501-0334 a phone number for your company?
4 Is 650 204-4405 a phone number for your company?
5 How did your company get my home telephone number?
I was told by Stacy White (calling from CA in the USA) that your company gooseberrytech.com was notified that my husbands computer had troubles. I asked how she knew that it had troubles. She said that when I received a message on my computer stating that my computer has an error and I click SEND or DONT SEND that your company is notified. She assured me that gooseberrytech.com is a third party compnay and in no way affiliated with WIndows. So my last few questions are
6 What company is sending your company (gooseberrytech.com) information about my computer and or my IP address?
7 Is this your marketing strategy for getting people to use your backup services?
If it is then I suggest that you change your strategy as it appears to be a scam and an atempt to gain access to someones computer (even though she assured me that she did not want access to my computer, that she only wanted me to check it, she was more that eager to "walk me through the steps")
8 Why wouldn't Stacy White (who called me from 510 768-8586 and who gave me the call back number of 1 800 501-0334) give me your name when I asked for the name of the President of the company?
Either
your compnay is committing fraud or
your company has a marketing strategy that stinks or
someone is committing fraud against your company.
Either way, you need to have it researched and resolved.

these very same people called me and scammed me too. They fooled me into thinking that my PC had been actually infected with the "Trojan virus" and that they could clean and restore it without my having to lose any of my files. They got me good. I paid the $199 that they requested. Even esigned the contract they had.
Missy58 2012-11-24 00:48:11 Telemarketer
They are a fake company. Have called twice and know my first and last name. I tell them I am unlisted, they say it was random. All India descent speaking but the call and company in California? They show they are a member of the BBB. They are not. I think Google sold our phone number or something. The website is even fake. I filed a complaint with the Do Not Call registry.

I have a labtop computer with dell....one night I was having issues and came across this number who wanted to charge over 150.00 and said dell would tell me the same thing as i had taken hardware waranty but didnt include viruses. Well I hung up because i wanted to hear what dell had to say...Thank God I did!!!!! Not only did they repair it for free, they gave me a direct number for the technician should I have any more issues in the future and reapired it for free since it was a fairly new purchase. This number has been calling me ever since and trying to convoince me I had "worms" and that Microsoft is hiding its programs.....ifI was a dummy I would have probably fell for this. DON'T FALL FOR THIS ABSOLOUTE BOGUS COMPANY....ALL THEY WANT IS TO CHARGE YOU FOR SOMETHING YOU DO NOT EVEN HAVE PROBLEMS WITH. THE OWNER MUST HAVE NO ETHICS OR PRINCIPLES STEALING FROM HONEST PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Total scam! I just got a call and couldn't understand the lady. I had to ask her several times to finally hear her say Gooseberry. THIS IS A SCAM!
roger dodger 2012-09-19 15:26:52 Unknown
You're full of b***s*** Roger, and you're just using this forum to re-pitch your scam and claim innocence. I have a friend I can't skype with right now because his computer is infected, and like others here he received a call from Gooseberry that they knew he was infected and if he paid 199 they'd clean it for him. He's not stupid, he asked how they knew his computer was infected and got no clear reply, just a repeat of your noxious sales pitch. apparently your planted virus CAN be removed by legitimate companies but I told him just to go back to where he bought it, have it reformatted and install LINUX/Ubuntu.
I hope you do hard time for this Roger, all of us do here. And you deserve it. You're just lucky the law will find you before other people do....

soon after my computer was infected by a virus, I received a call from the goose berry technition who said he had received a notice from microsoft that I had a problem, and that he could fix it. Well he did fix most of it and I paid the $199 to get it fixed. To add insult to my stupidity he stated the first credit card I gave him would not process the transaction so I gave him a second card . well guess what I was charged on both and could not get a response. bad me!
Unkown Warrior 2012-06-24 17:48:59 Unknown
Same thing happened to me. I go the virus off mostly with hitman pro and malwarebytes followed by unhidenonsystemfiles from Tweeking.com. Took me two solid days to get it gone.
The day after I got infected I got a call from 510-768-8583 asking "how is your computer? Is it working?"
They wouldn't tell me where they were but they said they were "from Gooseberry". She kept asking my name so I made one up. I asked again what city they are in as she said they were in California. She would not give me the city unless I told her my name, address, and credit card number. Of course i would not give it to her so she would not tell me what city they are in.
State of CA attorney general would like to know though!

IHORSE President,
Then if these accusations are incorrect, please advise how you guys knew that I got a virus yesterday afternoon? I just received a phone call from your number stating they were calling about a computer. I never called or even googled your company name.. so how would you have my cell phone number?
Please answer that.

ipurchased the gooseberry tech program 3 weeks ago for $199. I was having major problems with my computer..... they actually spent 35 hours working on my computer by remote control, and when they finally got it fixed.. it works like a brand new one..... they called me everytime they wanted to work on it to see if that was a convenient time for them to work on it.... so i don't see the scam here at all.. at this moment i am 100% happy with their service and results...
