I have "hit no. 1" before, still getting calls.   What happened to the do not call registry.   Has that been discontinued?  Certainly is not working.

My Panasonic system has the same 30 number blocking capacity, so I also keep an up-to-date text-file list of the numbers, as Liz suggests, above. I believe the newer Panasonics have increased this capacity quite a bit, along with the speed-dial capacity, IIRC. Take a look on their website, and see if one of them will do what you want. I'm considering upgrading to newer Panasonic phones, for this reason alone. Otherwise they've been absolutely the best cordless phones I've ever used.

Scammers of the elderly!

We got a call from this number today at 11:47 am and didn't answer. The caller ID was "ALERT, and no voice mail message was left. This number has been added to our call blocker.

ID said Alert from 650-277-2361.  Pressed 1 to speak with an agent who told me that the National Seniors Assistance Program would provide me with $3,000 worth of free groceries and a free medical alert bracelet or necklace.  I said that this is a scam and "pursuant to federal law" take this number off of your phone list.  The agent went a little crazy, raised his voice shouting "this is not a scam."  I hung up and reported the call to the DNC site.

I found out that what you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is immediately start hitting your "#" button on the phone 6 or 7 times as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call, and it kicks your number out of their system!

Called tonight. I didn't answer.I assume it was Telemarketer, not sure.

Recorded female voice offering $3K worth of grocery coupons and a "free" medical alert bracelet that is designed to save my life.  I recorded the call and played the first 30 seconds of it when I made my FCC complaint and had the opportunity to add a comment at the end.

Prepare to write down the oldest deleted numbers and review. Delete the ones that are probably marketers and free up space on your existing phone line. This is what I do annually. Good luck.

Caller ID "ALERT" 2013-10-21 1314 UTC-6 on my home phone. I called back today from Skype and heard recorded message that repeated until I hung up: "If you are not interested in receiving any future calls regarding our special promotions and would like to be placed on our do not call list, please press 1 now."

Call came 3:20 PM EDT 19 October 2013;  no one home to answer but wouldn't have answered anyway.  I  have used ALL the call blocks available on my phone with telemarketers.  Anyone know of a phone that will allow more than  30 blocks?  Local phone block for which I pay is worthless - it won't block a single out of area number.

Got a call on Friday and a second call at 10:39 am on  Monday10-21, both calls hang ups.

Repeated calls from this number,whichI do not answer,location is California,they leave a message about $3,000 in free grocery money,and medic alert devises. I'm not interested!!

this number was on my caller I D , no message,  everybody should have  a phone with call block.

I received a call from this number.  They did not leave a message and there was no name on my calling ID.  I have my land phone and cell phone numbers listed on the do not call opt out and would like them to remove my numbers from their call list.

I answered but did not say anything but neither did they.
I am on the do not call list but it has not worked since 2009 April when the top 4 in the department were caught watching porn 5 days a week 8 hours a day.  They are still employed in this department.  Could be why the DNC department does not work as it did prior to 2009.

Yes, this is the spiel about the card worth $3,000 in groceries, etc., plus a bracelet, and so forth. Caller ID says Alert on my phone. The recording on my machine was rather long and gave options to push this button or that one. However, I never talk to these people, nor do I push any buttons on my phone. I have no desire to let them know that my number is a working number. Just delete the message if they leave one.

Received call at 11:42 am. CDT on 10/21/13   Did not answer since the area code and number were unfamiliar.
Entered the number on Google Search and came here.   Have now blocked the number on my telephone system.

By the way, folks...your being on the Do Not Call list has no effect on these fraudulent telemarketing calls...

Unsolicited pitch

I'm just not sure why I got this call since I am on the Do Not Call list.....  It said "Alert" on the CID.  I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!

Just got three calls in a row from these scabs. Mr. Elmora is right, Verizon does nothing and when I called the police, they couldn't do anything either. This is a new number but old scam. Go away and leave us alone. What I could see from this list, no one answers. Get a real job!

They have been calling my office number NONSTOP today. There is no one on the line when I answer, it just hangs up. I've been trying to find a way to get into contact with someone so that I can remove this number from their list but when I call back, I get a busy signal.

Shows as ALERT on Verizon Call assistant. They have been harassing us 1-3 calls per day for the last week on both my phone lines. DNC list is a joke !!!  Verizon will NOT give any info about them, they say the Police have to be involved. Verizon is worthless, they don't care.
