The company has a website and they also said that they have a location in Orlando FL on Jasper Street; however, there is no Jasper Street in Orlando!  This email seems very similar to the previous responses for this number.

Seems like a SCAM to me!!!

I did not call, and have not been called as far as I know (no caller ID).  But, I did mistakenly give my # to another response, which read "I'd like to bring you in for an interview. What is your #?"  Thought was fishy, as was from "District Manager," but not so much as a name at end like blank, district manager, such and such company. Luckily they haven't called either(yet?).  Went into the store and was told they do not hire on-line!  And had a g-mail account like mentioned in one of following replies.  Sons of -------!

Identity Thieves Prowling for Job Seekers
Fake job ads up 345% as recession creates opportunities for scam artists
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2009/03/job_scams.html

March 9, 2009

With the unemployment rate rising and living costs going up, more people are looking for new jobs or second jobs. These are ideal conditions, it turns out, if youâ??re an identity thief.
Job seekers will register with employment agencies, check employment ads, mail out unsolicited resumes, network, post resumes on job search sites and search Craigslist.
In fact, the UK Association for Payment Clearing Services which tracks the prevalence of fake job ads said that fake ads are up 345 percent over the past three years. Unfortunately identity thieves are taking advantage of these uncertain economic times to scam job seekers and gather personal identifying information.
The Identity Theft Resource Center offers these tips:

? Protect your Social Security Number by limiting how many people see it. Never put your SSN on a resume. Let a company ask for it when they consider you a serious applicant. To minimize your risk, you also may want to not list your home address and just put your city and state on the resume.

? Consider opening a separate email account for your job search and keeping your primary email address private. Placing your email address on a resume could open the door to spam and phishing, account verification, and other email scams. (The recent Monster.com breach exposed resumes and email addresses. If you had placed your Social Security number or home email address on your resume, you could have made yourself a target.)

? Check out a company you found on a website carefully before giving them your information, for example Craigâ??s List. Anyone can create a website, but it doesnâ??t mean that they are a real company. You can find information on a company through the Better Business Bureau or the State Attorney General where the company is located. You can also Google the business to find out more about them. Most reputable companies will have a significant presence on the Internet, not just a few mentions.

? Avoid any website that requires you to â??pre-registerâ? with your SSN, home address or driverâ??s license number. Also, you should not be required to prepay to view job listings. Both these requirements are strong indicators of a scam.

? Update your computer security prior to emailing resumes and receiving email correspondence. Making sure your computer security is currently updated against viruses, Trojans, and other types of computer malware can help to protect you from any intrusion in an attachment you might receive.

? Make sure the person who contacted you actually works at the listed company and is not someone who has posted a job pretending to be part of a company. Does the URL address include the name of the company? If not, who actually sent it? Call the company involved, and ask for the Human Resources Department. Some companies recommend not responding via email to any person asking for more information, but rather to call the company directly. Rarely does a company hire someone sight unseen.

? Be wary of some common job scams. Avoid any company, especially a foreign company that wants to hire you as a â??payment representative â??orâ? accounts receivable clerk.â? This scam indicates that you get to keep a percentage of all checks or money orders you place in a bank account for them. Do not open a bank account for a company. You will be the responsible party should any money laundering occur, or if checks bounce. This is called a â??money mule scam.â?
Another scam is to notify you that you are one of the finalists for a job, and they need your Social Security number to do a background check. If you have not had a face-to-face interview with the company, you should be very skeptical. No one gets a job based on a resume alone.
Finally, watch out for the â??work-at homeâ? scams, especially those that ask you to â??forwardâ? packages you receive to a third party. That package may contain stolen goods or illegal drugs. There is rarely need to have a private party as a â??freight forwarder.â?
The safest ways to job search are to use local want ads, visit the unemployment office, use temp employment services, tell friends and family about your search, and network via professional groups and business acquaintances. When contacting a local company you can meet them, see the facilities, and ask acquaintances in that industry about their reputation. Consider not contacting foreign companies, especially those from Nigeria, Russia and third world countries.
Should you decide to use the Internet, ITRC strongly recommends that you read the safety tips on job seeking websites and report any suspicious posting to the website concerned.

I also received the same email, but this one from a Destiny Anderson. This is a scam. They say they have an office in Murphysboro, Illinois on Jasper Street. I checked both Google Maps and Yahoo Local on this. Google Maps does not have a Jasper street in Murphysboro, Illinois, and Yahoo Local does not have a listing for RDY, LLC. Murphysboro has about 13000 people and it would be hard to not have a street such as this for a firm that deals in law, etc...I live in Murphysboro. If this business is on Jasper Street and Google Maps mistakenly doesn't have this street, then this "company" sure is working out of a shed. I also typed their mailing address into Google and could not find an RDY, LLC for the address. This is unusual. If a business is located in Chicago at a large office complex, they probably should pop up on a Google search. When I put the name and the address into google I got nothing of the sort. THIS IS A SCAM! Do not put your phone number into the phone verification. This is a very sophisticated scam as they make it seem like they are a real business. Don't assume because there is a website they are legit no matter how real the site looks. ALways look up the address and type the company name into Google. If it is legit it will at least appear in the local guide. If it is new and just starting out with no listing in the local yellow pages, then you will not get an email sending you to a telephone number verification site. The problem is people who want jobs are often desperate for work and they prey on the fact that people in this position will often be on the safe side and give up their number if there is the least possibility of getting a job. This is an impressive scam. They really put some thought into it. Oh and when I called the phone number, a message came on saying "The person at this number is not available." The message did not use  a name like "Destiny Anderson" because they are using many names for this HR person as they send these emails out in droves. Protect yourself and as soon as you see an email like this, delete it. Think about it, you may be desperate for a job, but companies hiring will definitely call you if you provide them the information to contact you. They will not make you go to a phone number verification site. They need workers too. If they get to the point they are emailing you, that means they will give you a number to call, or if in your cover letter you included your contact information, they will call you. DOn't think that you should have to go through these hoops if they really are interested in you for a job.

I studied HR at Cornell, and I know a lot about the psychology of interviewing, and the staffing process. Even at entry level positions, companies won't make you do these types of things.

Also if you see an ad on Craigslist and the contact email is something like jim.stanton.qualityinn@gmail.com it's probably a scam. If the job really is legit they will either have you respond through craigslist or if it is a medium sized company to large company, the email won't be gmail. The smaller businesses may have email addresses like this, I'm not sure. But they certainly won't have the person's name and the company name in the first part of the email address.

I am in fact looking for part-time work myself as I am trying to get a ph.d. and need some extra money. I have been fooled over and over especially on Craigslist. I finally caught on. Definitely check the real addresses on the websites if they indeed do have a mailing address listed. Just because they list a mailing address doesn't make it real.

thx for all the info everyone. maybe together we can figure out if this is legit. i didn't feel right about them wanting me to link to a website to verify my phone number. if they wanted my number, why couldn't i just reply to the email, right? and how many people who WANT a job are going to post a phony number? my instinct is telling me scam, though i can't prove it. i appreciate you saying that you had a different name for this number, though. has anyone called it? the first guy on here said he was receiving calls from it.

I posted 2 resumes (maybe more?), 1 for a counter clerk, another for a waitress, and received replies from same number, but different names in "Human Resources" asking me to give my phone number to clphoneverification.com.  Similar response to Bubba's :  We are so glad to speak to you, so many applicants not nearly as qualified...Looked at RDYLLC site.  There are two jobs posted, but nothing even close to a waitress position, and RDY seems to be far from  being involved in the food-service industry, unless they need people to help shmooze their clients.  Scam?
