Sounds like it was a spoofed call, but received a call showing this number on the ID, saying they were calling regarding "higher educational information;" typical call center noise in background.

I saw this number saved as a my contact, it was named: "Call Recording Gateway." I think it could be a spy app that is installed on a wireless device as wall as a laptop/desktop, while the spy is tapping in to your every call, the 4 didget pin which explains the phone number in the first place, could be set up by the spy so u wouldn't know it. So maybe the pin is requested to maybe verify uninstallation of the spy app? I don't know maybe I am just paranoid?! Or, is that you who is paranoid? Its the f****ng police

Got a call from 650-353-9140 thanking me for using their verification service and leaving me a confirmation number.  No announcement of who they were or what the heck the code was for.  If it is indeed Google, why don't they announce themselves and why is the number not showing their name on a reverse phone number search?  AND they left me a message on my cell (this thie time saying it was from Google) but with a difference verification code!!  Then they phoned a 2nd time on my landline (this time their number was withheld) and I just hung up.  Hope they don't intend keeping my landline on a loop!!!  Annoyed.

I too got a call from this no. I did not receive the phone but it shows that I received the call nd had a talk for 24 second. Weird! Gud to know that its a useless no.

This number is part of a hacking network. Don't pick it up, don't give any information.
The person using this number actually left me a message. They sounded half asleep talking about being disconnected and sim cards.. This happened right after I tried to login to my gmail using 2 step verification. If any other strange things are going on with your online accounts, or phone.. Please contact law enforcement immediately!

I'm from Mexico. I don't use gmail, but I do use Blogger and Yahoo, and I received an email several months ago saying that they have like an alliance or something like that, I didn't pay much attention. However, like some of you say, I've used for months and I received this call until today. I answered it because I have a friend with a number that looks alike, but when I picked up it was a recording IN SPANISH! Which translated said something like "Hello, thank you for getting our service in..." I can't remember what service was, something about confirming a transaction online or something like that, but I haven't done any of that in months (I hate shopping online). So I just hung up, but it was very weird, I NEVER give my number on pages.

I get Google verifications, but the message from THIS number was clearly a recording of a google message of poor quality. This is not really Google! Somethings definately fishy here. I wouldn't answer or call this number. I put it on call screening. Hopefully that will stop the foolishness. I checked my google account and no one has successfully logged in except ME. You can check yours by going into your email and scrolling down under your messages click the "last account activity: details" link. Make sure the ip's and times match your log ins only.

Ok,Now. I just signed up with Google Picasa in order to have account,  to get  a Code. I had to give my cell phone number. shortly I get a call, I look up the number which is..  650-353-9140 ...  This happened before with anything to do with Google... now I am going to get calls very once in a while ( every day now ) for months. they stopped for a short time. now I started the whole thing.....  :( :( :( :(  ....

Keep getting this call.  I am on the do not call registry.  No messages are left.  DO NOT CALL!!
