We just received a call from this guy today. He told my son he needed to pay $600 in an hour today, if not he would be arrested.
After some research, found similar complains. We reported this to both the local and federal authorities. I hope they stop him!! Unfortunately, a lot of people, specially the elder, fall for these type of scams.

I got the call, he identified himself as a lawyer (Eric), I thought he was representing a company that i am currently suing so I confirmed all my information including social dob address. He first tried calling my cellphone 3 times before and then moved on calling my work number. I finally picked up and he already had all my information as far as social and address, work info, dob, mother's name and so forth. He said I was going to get arrested and that I owed money from a loan. I told him he would not receive any money from me and that his statements would not scare me to make any transactions over the phone. I had my credit locked with all credit bureaus and changed all my credit cards and bank info. I also added access codes to all my accounts besides personal info that anyone could have. Later on the same day I received another call from a "credit card call center doing a survey" which I quickly identified as shady and responded all questions with false information and as the call was done I changed my phone numbers as well.

SOME DIRTBAG JUST CALLED A FRIEND OF MINE THREATENING TO HAVE THE POLICE ARREST HER AND THROW HER IN JAIL FOR A VERY SLEEZY AND SUSPICIOUS DEBT THAT SHE HAS WITH A COMPANY CALLED ARROWHEAD. THIS WAS A $500 LOAN  WHICH SHE HAS HAD FAR MORE THAN THAT AMOUNT DEDUCTED FROM HER BANK ACCOUNTS. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A ONE MONTH LOAN WHICH SHE HAD THE FUNDS TO REPAY IN NOVEMBER. INSTEAD OF TAKING PAYMENT IN FULL AS AGREED TO, THEY KEEP TAKING HUGE FEES. CONTACTING STATES ATTORNEY GENERALS IS A FANTASTIC SUGGESTION. I WILL BE DOING IT IMMEDIATELY.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

This man also called my phone and stated he was with the federal government and I needed to call him back or he would file paperwork of a lawsuit.  This man needs to be arrested and brought to justice.  I didn't even borrow money from the company he pretends to represent....I called his number back and read all of the postings that are written here...I will be surprised if I hear from him......

I have been receiving numerous calls from various numbers basically saying the same things. I asked for the case number to this alleged lawsuit against me and their address and he said why do you want to come and have sex with me. He claimed he was from Harmin law firm and this is the way they talk to clients. He had an Indian accent. I also noticed yesterday that $30.00 was taken from my bank account which i did not authorize and this is the 2nd time it has been taken out. I am changing my account number today. I never got a pay day loan from theses people or anyone for that matter.THIS IS A BIG SCAM SO BEWARE AND WATCH YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.

Got the same phone call from 650-425-1035 from someone named Eric Foster who said the the federal government had taken hold to my social security number claiming money was deposited into my bank account from Cash Advance USA and when the lender tried to collect they could not; therefore, there is a lawsuit filed against me for fraud and a group of officers would be coming to arrest me within 48 hours.  He wanted me to listen and not interrupt him while he read the affidavit to me.  Then he said while he was reading 'how could a gentle lady like yourself do something like this."  Then I interrupted and said hold up, wait a minute.  You are reading an affidavit so why would that kind of statement be in an addidavit?  I believe that you are the fraud and trying to extort money from me.  He got mad then and told me to hold on.  When he came back he said that he was informed to end the conversation with me and hang up immediately.  I said now why would you do that if I am trying to get to the bottom of this?  He hung up on me.  I reported it to the local police department.  I called him back and said Eric Foster.  He said yes, this is Eric.  I said don't you ever call my house again.  I believe that you are the fraud and if you call my house again I will have you arrested.  He immediately hung up.

You report this to your local police department and they will send someone out to your house to get information. Be sure you have the person's name and the phone number they left you to call them. It is a scam to extort money from you.
