Thanks I got one of these calls from a guy named Norman and stated I would be arrested and the cost would be more than $8,000 all he needed today was 845.63 and I had to send him by fax my account info via debit card or visa.  I told him I didn't have a loan with that co. He stated that they loan money through many different company names.  He was very persistant but I stood my ground.  So now I'm waiting to see if  the police to get me

I received that same call from Jennifer yesterday leaving the exact same message. I listened to them and asked them for there information as the name to their law firm. They told me they were First State Attorneys Services located in Irvine and gave me two different number with different area codes. They told me that I needed to meet them in court today at court. I asked which court and they said  "California". I told them I was at work and couldn't talk at that moment. I went home, found out they are scammers, and was ready for them today. Jennifer called and had me hold for Norman. When Norman came to the phone I told him that I spoke with the "loan company" and they settled my 800.00 debt for 300.00 and they agreed to drop all criminal charges against me.He had nothing else to say he asked me for the company's phone number and I gave him the number to the State Atty General's Office and told him that they wanted to speak to him regarding this matter. Norman then hung up on me.

When they called me, AGAIN, from this number yesterday, and as she began to tell me the routine stuff about me owing money, etc., I interrupted and told her I talked to my attorney and the FBI and that they said it was all fraudulent.  She promptly hung up. :-)

A phone scammer who had my cell phone number, my social security number, my place of employment address, and other personal information started calling a few months back. He was very threatening trying to get my credit card number saying I owed money. I knew that was a lie as aI have almost perfect credit and strive to keep it that way.  Starting back a week or so ago, I started receiving calls again and the are getting progressively more seriously threatening - I saved the ones I could but my phone service will only hold so many saved messages at a time so they get deleted as more come in. I have tried to ignore the calls and let them just go to voicemail and my cell phone company even gave me a link to an application to block their calls but now the calls only come up 00000 or 0000 as the incoming number but my phone won't block those numbers. The more I ignore the calls the more threatening and honestly scary they get - giving my address of work - saying they are coming for me, "good luck" in living, I will regret not calling back, etc... The name and call back number is different every time they leave a message - 1. Johnny Walker 818-584-7330, 2. Matthew Rogers 206-629-8237, 3. David Rogers 707-706-2896, 4. James Garner 650-490-4968. They all have a heavy foreign acccent and it is hard to understand at times. I have now filed a second complaint with the Alabama Attorney Ggeneral's office.

I received 4 calls from this number today.  There were also 4 voice mails, but only two of them were messages and they were the exact same message.

This is what "she" said: "Tamara (last name, too).  This is Jennifer and the hotline to my direction is .  I repeat 650-490-4968.  Don't disregard this message...."  She went on to say that me or my attorney of record needed to call her back.  If me or my attorney did not call her back, she can only wish me good luck as the situation unfolds on me.  Then, she said goodbye and hung up.

Lovely.  Is there even a crime that has been committed that can be reported?  It only, in a very distant way, could be a perceived threat of some kind.  Who knows?  Odd.

If anyone has info to share, my email address is tandwrootbeer@yahoo.com.

I have also received calls from the 650 area code number at home in the past. Today they called my cell and the man was extremely demanding. He had my nickname and last name and told me I was in big trouble, (again stating pay day loan) I know for a fact I owe no one money for a payday loan. He said if i didn't call today I should be careful and was extremely threatening. I had my attorney call with me on the line and they stated they were attorneys but would not discuss anything or fax anything. We just hung up. SCAM!!!

This number calls me at my job constantly. He says his name is David Williams at the attorney's office. The secretary at my place of employment says he has a very heavy accent and makes it sound serious. I have asked her to relay the message not to call my employment any more, to call my home after 5pm. He calls home leaving 5 messages in one day, next day called my employer again stating he has a right to call my employment because he works for the attorney's office. She just appeases him and takes the message. If there is a way to stop this nonsense we should unite and do so.

He just called again using a new phone number 9163950000.  This time I told him "I can't understand a word your saying" (which is true).  And instead of having my attorney call you I will have my local police department call you. If he calls again let's get his address.   Maybe we should all call the police department

I received the same call today and about 2 months ago received some.  It shows up on my phone as 0000.  The people always have a very thick accent, but always American names.  Today the man was Steven Williams and he left that same "threatening" message wishing me luck for whatever transpires if I do not call.  I am quite frightened about this.  Should I contact the police?

I just noticed how everyone is being asked to pay less than 10k.  I bet that's because 10k is the magic number that gets the FBI involved...Wiring or withdrawing 10k or more and the bank legally has to notify the feds.

Thanks for these posts. I knew it was a hoax, but I must admit the 15 calls on both my cell and some numbers freaked me out.  I'm in NYC so I think if I call the police, they will laugh at me.  I never answered the calls, but they all come up 0000, and as we all know, the number left is a Southern California number.  Part of me wants to call back because I'm studying law and I know how full of crap they are.  First clue, the woman calling sounds like Darth Vader with an Indian accent and called herself James Johnson.  I don't know many females named James.  'James' also said we "downloaded a compliant against you".  Downloaded?  Really? That's a new one.  Also, when someone is filing a suit against you it is best to file in a court in your jurisdiction, not one, in my case, that is clear across the country. Finally, notification pertaining to a lawsuit or any form of legal action being sought against you would be mailed to you.  There is no attorney or law firm that would call and leave those messages on your cell, work and home phones!

We should all get together and file a class action suit against these smucks!!!

I received the same call from a guy named Shawn. He told me that it was time a sensitive matter and that either I or my attorney needed him to contact him immediately. He then stated that if I didn't return his call that he could only wish me good luck. I called the number a day later and it picked up without him being aware of it. He was arguing with someone on another call saying do you know that you're talking to someone at an attorney's office. I couldn't hear what was being said to him, but then he tried to apologize to the person and wished them a blessed day. I am glad that I didn't speak with him and have seen that this all a scam.

Just returned their phone call. Told mr Young who has a very accent that I was recording the coinversation and that I needed him to spell his first and last name for furture refrecencesl. Mr. Young first could not think of how to spell it than said he was someone else who could help me, when I informed him that calling my place of employment and informing them of a personal matter was a violation of the  Fair Debt Collection Practices Act he hung up and will not retum my calls. I am due to be arrested friday according to them and now they wont answer my calls? I never even got a chance to dispute any outstanding bills which there are none.

Same here. I got a call on my cell just a few minutes ago from "0000." I didn't answer, but checked the message and it was "James Johnson" with a...very...slow...way...of...speaking and a heavy accent. Ended with something like, "If you disregard this phone call, all I can do is wish you luck in what will fall down on you."

Two mins later, dude calls my work number! I hung up on him, he called back and left the exact same message he left on my cell.

Creepy, horrible and I am INDEED filing a report!

I received 3 voicemails and my wife received 1 voicemail from an "unknown number" from John Williams (any Star Wars fans out there?!!).  He said, in a very heavy accent, that I needed to call back or have my attorney call back and that if I didn't, that he wished me Good Luck!

First of all, what "attorney office" is opened after 6 pm?  Second, last time I checked, John Williams was not Middle Eastern!  Third, I am being served in a lawsuit, I have to receive something in writing, first!

"ERIC" has been calling my house, work, and cell phone!!! you can hardly understand what he is saying as it is. He just kept asking me for the number that he was calling me on....which makes no dang sense AT ALL and asked me what my lawyers name was! then when i wouldnt give him the number he began getting rude with me... he has told my family and co-workers that "it would be in my best interest to call him back or i was going to jail for good" and thats all he would say. Never once did he say what i supposedly had done, if it was a debt, or anything. I began getting extremely rude with him and cursing at him and he kept just telling me i had to go to court monday morning at 11:30 am or i would go to jail for good. He stated he was from First States Attorneys Office. He just kept calling and calling. I finally called him back when i googled his number and its a cell phone out of South Dakota. I advised him that i have contacted authorities and its"in his best interest not to call my home, cell, or work anymore" that now HE'S the one "thats going to court and jail for good!" and he got extremely upset and hung up on me. but hasnt called any of my numbers again! Maybe you guys should try this.
