I heard back from this Bruce guy as well for a job. I decided to look up his name on facebook and it brought me to this site I am so thankful I haven't given anymore information other than through the email. Do you think he can hack info off my computer via email?

I received an eMail from Jennifer Carson with this phone number attached to it...it said that I had to click on a link to get my credit score to bring to my interview. I'm not going to do that! Any legitimate Co can get that for themselves after they have submitted a job offer to me and I have accepted it.

In any case, I wrote back to them,essentially saying what I wrote above, and I received a second eMail - EXACTLY  like the one I had just gotten...dumbasses.

This company is fake- they requested I take an IQ test and submit my phone number! Beware!

This number appears for a James Rios and/or Richard Taylor at CDM Source LLC, regarding a job posting listed on Craigs List, which requires a credit score check. I got this email from Pittsburgh (applied January 2010)...fortunately the credit score link was broken and I thought to check up info on this company when I got the email in response to my email inquiring about a "Junior Underwriter Position." I'm posting the email and Craigslist ads below.

We all know these scams exist, so why can't the authorities investigate, and prosecute these f****ng morons?  I mean, they go after people committing victimless crimes everyday, so why not get these scamers?  After all they are hurting people, taking advantage of those who are only trying to better their lives.  

What is wrong with our lawmakers?  I am unemployed, and have been for quite some time, but i'm trying everything i can think of to get work, and i think its complete b***s*** that there is people out there preying on people such as myself.

The link that was embedded in the email was clearly a tracking link to a score site where you were not initially charged, but would be charged for anything beyond the initial seven day free trial. I replied with a fake credit score that I made up off the top of my head and never heard back. Here's another I got when responding to another job post:

So there ya go. There are a number of great people out there who have truly learned how to take advantage of a down economy by hitting people where it hurts the most.

I'm so glad I found you all. I got the same email. Is there any way to report these people?  Maybe the BBB. There has to be a way to stop this. Here you think you have a legit job offer and they are scamming you. As if its not hard enough to get a job these days.

I encountered a similar situation from an admin job post I responded to on craigslist. They are using this same # and also asked me for a copy of my credit score. I will not be responding to them...

This afternoon I applied for an Admin position in the Atlantic City, NJ area with this (crooked) company as well. After receiving the email asking for my credit score to be available prior to scheduling an interview I became suspicious and started Googleing. When I Google the company name the only thing that came up was a profile page with questions about the company but no answers, so I went a little further and Googled the link they sent to get the credit score and found this site with all of your comments.

WHAT A SCAM! It's horrible that someone would target the unemployed like this. Luckily I am smart enough to look into it but what about folks who may not be? How can we get this to stop? Does anyone know if this has been reported, or even who to report it to?

Got 2 of those fraudulent emails. The credit site is real but the job isn't. I never send my resume to people advertising on craigslist. I let them know I am interested and ask them to respond with their contact information, a compnay name, addres, website where I can apply or send my resume. Thank God. I would want these people to know more about me than my email address. Losers. Taking advantage of the unemploymed at a time like this. These meth heads get more and more desperate every day.

I recieved this email from them today. I was applying for a job on craigslist, and this is what I got back. If you notice, they are now using Go Staff Inc as the company name, when you check Go Staff Inc, they are rated A+++ with the BBB, however, when I called the actual Go Staff Inc office in San Diego, they said they never heard of this person, and had me send them the email, and they are reporting it to the police......If you will notice too, they want your CELL PHONE NUMBER ONLY!!!  heres the email!!!

I got this message today and unfortunately submitted some of my information.  I am going to contact the credit bureau to make sure everything is ok with my credit.
