There are no HIPPA  rules preventing Hazelton/Betty Ford from disclosing that they are making the call. They aren't going to discuss a patient with you. So if they use that line I would be thinking SCAM.   They charge a large fee for their services, programs and publications. So, I don't really think they need to fund raise.

Yep!   and then the DNC Registry gets blamed for all of the legal,  exempt charity calls...
Because of the constant pleas for more donations,  we only donate to local charities,  with a hand delivered money order.

The Do Not Call is for Registered with the FTC  Telemarketers.   Charities and some other categories are exempt.

Hazelden works with addictions and if you ever ordered anything from them you end up on their fund raising phone calls.

They called after 7:00pm on a Sunday. If they are with Hazelden, or a front, they are already in violation of HIPPA.

Also, they do not make random calls.  If they called you it is because someone who visited them gave them the phone number or it was typed in their system incorrectly so they are not in violation of anything, perhaps just a mistake.

Just to let ya'll know...Hazeldon is a legit facility but due to the nature of their business they are very confidential. I also know someone they helped.  If you made a donation your money would be well spent.

Yes, Hazelden, I'm sure.. They call for donations to their programs, sometimes from ex employees and sometimes from ex clients. But, they say they are a nonprofit org and can't identify themselves because of hipaa rules. They call our house for someone that no longer lives here.

Have had numerous calls from 651-213-4335 without a message. When I called after hours the message said "you have reached Development." No corporate affiliation. Strange that no message was left

I received a call from 651-213-4335 leaving a message the same as you described.  My caller ID showed Center City Fdn.  I think this could be Hazelden.  I have done business with them.  If you have too, then that is probably who it is.

Received 2 voice mails from this number using my first name.  These came on my cell phone.  I have registered on Do Not Call!  A female voice said she was sorry she missed me and would try again.
