I'm in Salem, Oregon, and I just got my first call from this number. I didn't take the call, because I don't know anyone in Minnesota. Based on what I've read here, I'd guess that the local paper, the Statesman-Journal, has outsourced their telemarketing, because I haven't gotten a call from them in a long time and I used to get calls all the time. I've never subscribed to the Statesman, so I'm not sure why they were calling me.

I joined the 651-288-2874 club today; first call on the new-to-me cellphone which is intended for emergency outgoing calls only. My wife is looking up instructions for blocking numbers in the on-line manual for the phone.

per one of the posts above, the email address espagnola@amr-advantage.com, I emailed and wrote "STOP CALLING ME" along with my phone number. I sent the email and he replied back "I certainly will
Sorry for any inconvenience!" So send an email telling them to stop calling and hopefully they will stop. He responded back to me within minutes.

It's probably regarding the cancellation of a subscription. I am going to send them a snail mail letter w/a return receipt which advises them that not only am I on the Do-Not-Call registry, I can show proof on my phone bill they have called me at least 50 times, which constitutes harassment. If I get one more call after I receive the return receipt, I will be filing a complaint with our attorney general's office. They have various e-mail addresses listed on their website:
www.amr-advantage.com however, they would more than likely use it as a tool to spam.

Do not want anything to do with Gannett newspaper company.

Add the Austin, Texas newspaper to your list. When I get a call from a number I don't know, I don't answer. Then I google the number to see who it was. If legit, I call them back. If not, like this rotten company, I save their name under NEWSPAPER PRICK and then set the ring to NO RING. In this way, I never know they call. I only have to erase NEWSPAPER PRICK from the MISSED CALLS occasionally.

I have received over a dozen of these calls. There is nothing after I answer. It drives me crazy since this is a business phone.
| Jay Bond 2011-12-13 19:51:47 Unknown |
Patrice complaining to the government will do nothing to stop these calls because everyone in government is a criminal, don't you get it?

I'm from Salem area also and they called me 5 times today. I did not answer one call. I think they target certain locations at a time. This time it's Salem people....

I get a lot of these "Spam" calls on my cell phone so, I save the number in my phone as "Spam and what ever the next number of spams I have. I am on Spam25 now with this call. When they call again I know it is spam and reject the call over and over again. So far it has worked well because I do not get any call from my spams 1 through 22 any more. It usually takes a couple of weeks rejecting the call and then they quit calling. I just don't waste my time trying to tell them not to call or reporting them because it dosn't work. Ignoring them does.

I recently cancelled my subscription from the Arizona Republic and the day after that, I started receiving phone calls from this number. The calls started out as one call per day and have since progressed to four times a day. I called Arizona Republic and immediately asked for a supervisor. At first, he wasn't telling me anything but after drilling him for a few more minutes, he finally admitted that they do have a "parent company" outside of Arizona in Virginia...I think he said they were called Gazette. I searched the internet and found the Sun Gazette in Virginia. Here is how the rest of our conversation went: Him-"They do not call consumers outside of their state so they should not be the ones calling you." Me-"So basically you're saying your parent company has the other companies, like A Marketing Resource, do the dirt calling then, right?" Him-"Tell you what, I can go ahead and contact Gazette and have them remove you from their list and the calls should stop within 48 hours." I will respond to you guys if it works. In the meantime, I have filed a complaint with the FCC and register my cell phone number on the Do-Not-Call List. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR POSTING YOUR COMMENTS TO HELP OTHERS!

This person calls every night at 9:00 PM or shortly there after. Before they called every couple of hours until I reported it and now they have started in again. They must be mentally sick.

This firm has been calling multiple times daily. They are representing our local paper, The Arizona Republic, since we canceled our subscription. We have told them not to call again and they continue to do so. In addition I left a message on their voicemail with my request to discontinue calls. I now respond with a strong verbiage when I answer, and they continue to call daily. Has anyone found a way to get these barracudas to cease contact?

They just called me from the Pioneer Press from this number. They call me 15 times a day. I just told them to not call again, she assured me that i was now on the do not call list. We will see.......

In correction the Arizona Republic's parent company... The Sun Gazette is INCORRECT. The correct parent company name is GANNETT.

I, too, am sick to death of the calls from this "company". I have answered and told them very distinctly and clearly Not to call me anymore. They do not listen. They must not understand English is all I can figure.

I just cancelled my paper and the calls started immediately!
| L in AZ 2011-06-06 20:53:49 Unknown |
Patrice,
Actually the do not call list does not work in this case. Since they are calling representing AZ Republic and you give your phone number to AZ Republic when you sign up for the newspaper they can call you. All you can do is write them and ask them to stop calling. That is suppose to work, I guess we will see.

Hi, I've had a similar problem. Here was the fix. I have Qwest for the phone. A landline in this case. I oay a few dollars a month for call rejection service (it's been worth it). That way numbers or even area codes can be blocked. A CELL PHONE is only a bit more complicated. Depending on the 'codes' the phone uses. But there are several call blocking tools for a cell. ALSO there is a tool (someplace) to redirect a call to a cell, when the number calling is recognized. Then the call is routed to whatever you choose. Say: A loud fax tone. THANKS
