Caller ID said "MN FOP." When I picked up, there was no response.

This call may be legit but using those calling machines is very rude. Sure, it's very convenient for you--you get to keep your people busy. For us callees, who run to our phones when receiving a call only for it to hang up on us because your people too busy, it is very rude. This is one of the big reasons I hate giving to people who call--it only encourages them to keep calling and of course using those machines to keep dialing our numbers and hanging up regardless if we are home or not.

If they are so legit why are they so rude and hang up on you? Not a good way to talk people into making a donation! We respectable and leave a message. I believe this is a scam because I have had tons of donation phone calls and none of them act in this manner. So please someone report these guys so the legit ones do not get a bad name like this one!

I think this "charity" is a fraud, but I need people to gather info on them.
I need the:Full name of the "Charity," address, and phone #.
Also Name/address/phone # of any other calls you receive of a similar nature.
If you receive a call from this "charity" contact your state's Attorney's General Office, Charity division, and ask if they are legit. Please submit a complaint about them, if they are not registered. State Attorney's Generals take Police/Firefighter scam charities seriously, but need information to help.
I checked with my state's Attorney's General Office, and they have never heard of Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police.

Looked up this "charity" on the Secretary of State of Washington State's Website.
http://www.sos.wa.gov/charities/search.aspx
Could not find any name similar to Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police.
Called my State's Attorney General's Office, Charity Division, they have not heard of this charity, or anything similar to it.
If you could post more details, it will help with future searches.
Since you "Jeff" are the "Director of the MN FOP," what is your Federal EIN, Street Address and phone number? Any why has my State's Attorney's General Office, Charity Division never heard of you?

I am the director of the MN FOP call center where this is a legit number from our call center. To address the dropped calls and/or hang ups is that we do use a dialing machine. One reason for the hang up/dropped calls is that when all the callers become busy, as in they are talking to someone, the call will hang up.
I apologize for anyone who feels that they are being harassed and for any rudness that you may experience from our callers. These issues will be addressed with our callers and I have already spoke to our manager about these concerns.
But I do want to stress again that this is a legit number from the Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police (MN FOP). If you would like to find out more about this organization please go to www.MNFOP.com.

It's a scam. he does not have multiple lines. Now you know it's not a telemarketer. I sagest every one who gets a call call back like I did and let it ring all day to block him from calling out and ripping someone else off.

A guy called at 12:10pm and asked for my husband. I told him my husband wasn't home now and may I please take a message. He said, "NO - I'll have to call him back!" very loud and angry sounding. Then he hung up.
