got a call from this number dont reconize it

Got a call from this number but didn't pick up.  Googled it and found people talking about the same number.

They called about 10 min ago first time I have had a call from them. I have CID and saw their and foung out they are  telemarking. Where do they get my number have been on DNC for several years and unlisted phone number this one now is in addition to several others I get almost daily if not 2x daily.

I called the number back and it's a telemarketing company for some sort of online choose a degree for a college or something, I am 30 years old-full time job I told them to take my number off of their list..not sure how they got it in the first place, it's my cell phone.

I'm receiving bills from Alternate Billing Corp.  They state I ordered Safeguard My Credit over the internet for $49.90.  I didn't do this and called them at which time they say they cancelled it and issued a credit to that company.  They then sent me another letter stating the credit was issued for too much and I owe them $24.95.  I contacted the company which they say they issued the credit to and they don't know anything about this.  I know I'm being scammed and I'm contacting an attorney today.

Got a call from this number, called it back and all I heard was "customer service" and I hung up. Sometimes I get calls from a number or unknown and when i pick up, they hang up.
I AM sick and tired of that mess!

Thank you for saying the same thing that has been said a thousand times before. Stop blaming everyone else for something that you have done yourself.

Yes.  It just so happens every time I update my resume on careerbuilder.com I get calls like this.  Thanks for selling my phone number!!!!!

Everyone listen up.  If you put your resume on Career Builders or Monster you have left the box checked that says you would like to recieve information on colleges.  You then, have authorized these companines to call you even if your on the do not call list. You have given them permission to call you. If everyone would read the fine print when doing things on-line these companies would not bother you.  Remember, when your pointing a finger at someone else there are 4 pointing back at you.

Same as everyone else, called left no message

Got a call, but did not pick up because the number was unfamiliar.  They left no message.

Received a call from this number.  Didn't pick up like the rest of these people.  They didn't leave a voice mail. SSDD!

They called, i assumed it was for a sales position so I did not pick up.  will post again if I get another call (and will pick up).  Tempted to take my phone number off my resume, especially so it isn't sold to telemarketers...

I just received a call from this number. I asked the girl on the phone what company she represented, and she would not give me that information. I asked her how she would have gotten my telephone number, and she said I would have either requested information from them, or that it would have come from my resume being posted online.

I then asked for her manager, and I spoke with an Angela who refused to give me her last name, but she did provide me an id, #0024, as well as the company she was representing, "Choose A Degree". I politely asked her to remove me from their calling list, and subsequently gave her my name and telephone number. She stated that I should no longer receive calls from them.

I was not able to find a reverse lookup for this number on anywho.com, and I found this website here, by searching google for: ("Choose A Degree" telemarketing).

I also got my resume on careerbuilder.com and I've gotten calls twice today from them. Haven't answered. Very annoying.

This is the 2nd time this number has called my cell phone. I called the number back and they answered as ALTERNATE BILLING CORP.  I asked the lady who answered to take my number off of their call list. She said she would do so, so we'll see what happens.
Thank goodness one can GOOGLE a number and get info like this on frauds and scams!

If you call back and a recording asks for contact info give the address and number of your state Senator or Congressman. If they start getting these calls at their offices, something will get done.

I got a call from this number this morning but have learned to GOOGLE every number that comes on my cell phone caller id. Over the past few days I have gotten suspicious calls and most have them been on websites like this saying they are fruad and scam calls.
I had my resume all over the internet as I'd been out of work since Jan.
Thank God I got a job this week and I am taking my resume down off of every site I can remember!

Dirt balls called me also because I just put my phone number on www.indeed.com for a job listing.

Called my cell phone, but did not leave a message.  I called back and they said "customer service how can I help you".  I told them someone had called my phone and to remove my number from their list.  They asked for my number and said I would be removed immediatly, but I'll have to wait and see. I am on careerbuilder which may be how they got my information.

Just received a telephone call from them asking for my father, they said they were Choose-A-Degree.

Mind you we are also a part of the national donotcall list. When I goggled this number I found this page and remembered that my dad had said he put his resume on Monster some weeks back.

Received call. Did not recognize number. Did not pick up. Googled number.
