I also have gotten a call from Bud Anderson just today. When I called back it went straight to him, no NAM or going through the operator.  He told me if I didn't reach a settlement agreement with them by this Friday they would turn it over to a collection agency. I have tried to look it up and I can't even find the collection agency. Also why does NAM not have a web page? Make u think twice.

I too received a call awhile back saying I owed 60 months worth of payments of $79  for magazines that I don't receive.  Everytime a magazine company calls me I tell them I do not want any magazines, I don't read them.  Of course they threatened me with collections so I agreed to $49 a month for 24 months, amazing how much they deducted.  Then I went on line and looked them up, a big fat scam so I cancelled my credit card immediately.  Didn't hear anything for several months and today I get a letter saying that I need to pay my account  balance of $149.70 or they are taking me to collections.  Imagine my account went from owing $4740 to $1176 to $149.70.  Don't really want to pay this but don't want to be taken to collections.  Any suggestions?  What is the name of the collection agency they sent you to if you don't mind me asking?

Update since Dec. 2012..I did get a letter on March 1, 2013 from Total Customer Service Inc. It is a collection agency and has New Age Marketing as the creditor to whom I supposedly owe this money to. I looked online at New Age Marketing and did not see any reference to Nam Magazines (except the initials). Also when you look up NAM in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, their address is often changed, never being the one to whom I corresponded with. I am going to contact this collection ageny and see what can be done. with all the complaints from people you would think this "Company" would be out of business, if not arrested. Oh well, will see what comes next!

I've had trouble with NAM marketing too! I was stupid and fell into the trap. I've been paying payments for 6 months now and yesterday they called me and signed me up for the "2nd half" of my service. Is there anything I can do to get out of it?!?I'm sure that  I can cancel with the little piece of paper that they are about to send me in the mail for my 2nd half of service since its only been 24hrs, but the say they have a recorded phone call of me authorizing the payments. it's a total scam and I don't even read magazines. what would happen of I blocked them and refused to pay the money that they say I owe them? I am receiving magazines on a monthly basis though so I imagine they have something on me by now if I were to take them to court. Any ideas?!?

I got a phone from NAM and was led to believe payment was for grandson's Men's Fitness,a magazine which I ordered for his Birthday, using a post card from that magazine. Further into the conversation, I realized it was a scam. Had to cancel charge card, but they got one payment out of us. Now they are threatening to send us to a collection agency. I work at a Library with access to any magazine I chose, so this order of 5 magazines for 5 years would have been ridiculous. They need to arrest these people. Has anyone found a solution to these peoples harassment and solved the problem?

BBB has received a pattern of complaints concerning misrepresentation in selling practices where complainants have claimed that they are contacted by the business for the renewal subscriptions that they either currently possess or have had in the past. These consumers claimed that they are under the impression that they are transacting with the company they did business with previously. Complaints further allege that they are told that the only way to cancel is to pay a specified amount of money monthly for a specified duration of time.

Caller told me I was in debt for 30 months of magazines that I order one year at a time from my grandchild through scouts and pay as I go. When it got to the point that I questioned the guy he said he would transfer me to someone to cancel my account and the line disconnected.

Watch out, NAM Marketing is a very well played scam.
NAM Marketing is are scammers, before you agree to anything on a phone; demand a written contract and a list of all liabilities.
Contact your Congressman and tell them to ban selling over the phone; all phone solicitation should require not only 3 days but that 3 days should only occur after you SIGN a contract.
NAM Marketing is also known for stealing other companies customer lists, the best solution is to demand the offer in writing; don't let their bleeding  heart salespeople convince you otherwise.

I unfortunately fell to this scam. I had just given my last payment then they come back and tell me that it was only for half of the installment. I told them no I wanted to cancel get this they want me to pay another $500 to cancel on top for what I already paid for and get this like I told him I paid way more than the contract stated so they can take it from there or trying to sue me if they like. I've already reported them to the BBB. They are not even registered with them this alone says a lot about this busienss. They are theives and frauds.

I keep getting phone calls from this magazine company called the Readers service.  I have told them repeadly that I dont have magazines through them.  I fell for it a few months ago when they called because my husband and I recently started getting people and several others.  So I said I was getting the magazines ok.  They told me that they wanted to give me code because there was people calling saying it was a scam and I could give them that number if I had questions or had to make the company give me that number when they called.  When the manager got on the phone to give me the number he asked to verify my information and credit card information.  I immediately cought on and got PO'd.  I told him that they were the scam and I told them to stop calling me or I would report them to the police for harassment.  He started yelling at me and put his secretary or whoever back on the line and she yelled at me for calling her a liar to her boss.  I said you are a scam and dont calle me ever again.  She then called me a F****** w***e and hung up on me.  I called my local police department and told them the story.  They said they have heard other reports of this that I am not the first!  I am now getting phone calls from this 651-689-1325 phone number.  Definately going to report the number to the police again.  I am tired of them calling I will block it as well!  Thanks for the info everyone

Also got the magazine call from 651-689-1325, this has to be around the 10th such call I have received in the last year that I have actually answered, nevermind the dozens of calls that I have not answered.

This scam has been going on well over a year now.  When is this going to stop?

Answered the call....calling about my subcriptions to magazines that i let her know I DON"T get.  She was forceful, then I spoke to a supposed manager who took me off their list and put on a don't call list.  I let them know that they were a scam.....don't let them intimidate you!

My wife has gotten two calls in the past two days from these d-bags.  She also almost got scammed by NAM Marketing out of Florida with the magazine b***s***.  Be aware of them too; their number is 800-555-1212 & 800-436-8130 (this one is their customer service number).  Their customer service sucked too, they were rude, arogant and refused to listen.

They are doing the same thing to me for the past 3 days.

Its getting VERY irritating. They hang up when I start bitching at them and demanding someone of higher management to speak to.
These losers need to get REAL jobs and leave us who actually work hard for our money, ALONE!

I just got a call from them claiming to be a magazine company and that I have a current subscription with them, but the address they have is an old one that I haven't had for about 2 years now. I'm pretty sure its a scam for new service since I doubt that account could be current without a valid cc #. I just called the number back and all I get is silence then a beep and the call is disconnected.  Pretty much proves its a scam.
