I have been getting text messages for the same number 659 232 4290. I called Verizon and they had me block the number and they credited my account.

Spam text sent from my phone to the same number.

I used TubeMate app using Android phone. There were an ad bar below the app, so close to the download button, it's almost impossible to avoid touching it when pressing the download icon. On top of it, it was a downward arrow to mimic the download icon tries to confuse users. After I accidental touched the arrow, it secretly sent an oversea text to 0116592324290 with some encoded text without my permission.
If you are using Tubemate or any apps with a Green Arrow in the app, be careful.

Someone used my phone to call that number! can anyone to identify that users who has that number?

yes i also installed an Mcafee antivirus and Mcafee is the real culprit behind this, so dear remember dont installed this irritating software if you have than uninstall it as soon as possible.

I was charged 61 dollars for outgoing texts to this number (65 92324290). Crazy.
I read this thread to see I was not the only one.
I uninstalled all of my applications on my phone except for my bank.
Provideders are reluctant to give money back.
However this number (65 92324290) is profeting off of free apps. Sucks for the provider but why have apps that are free if You mat be charged for them? I am learly now.

I had the same thing and it started when i installed mcafee, i think it must be that!

I had the same issue with the number "6592324290". I called my provider [Aldi] and they just did not get it. The response was that it is a legitimate text from my phone and no matter how I explained it, the lady [overseas not from Aus] just did not fathom that I never made that call. I said it was a security issue but her response was to focus on the 25 cents [25cents, who cares!]. I uninstalled McAfee, so I'll see if that fixes it. But I have to say it was infuriating, to say the least.

Yes it is in deed McAfee sending a message from your phone whenever you change your SIM card. I checked that already

If it's true that by installing McAfee's Mobile Phone trial is causing text messaging charges to Singapore, I intend to not renew their virus products on my PCs.  T-Mobile will not reverse charges and stated that I am the 1st customer bringing this to their attention.

Yup, got the same problem. My plan is with Rogers. I was charged $64.70 but Rogers refunded the charge. No fee should be aloud to be charged over and above your plan, without expressed written permission or with a creditcard. These people are stealing from us...

I was charged $122 because of this Mcafee security app which caused my mothers phone to send up to 350 messages to this number. Uninstalled the app since she did not want it in the first place but was pestered with constant notifications of the trial version. Telecommunications company not willing to reimburse completely oblivious to the issue and Mcafee not reachable for any explanation.

I also had more than 30 SMS to the same number on the same day I installed McAffee. Now I uninstall McAffee.

I also got the problem messages billed to that number without I had sent any.
Yesterday I uninstalled the trial version of the McAfee stuff from my Android phone (Sony Ericsson Xperia) but Vodafone still debited another sms.
What can I do???? Is it enough to uninstall the McAfee app????

for me also the same problem, i don't have contacts international and i have reported to the service provider that i have not sent any sms and they are validating that i have sent an SMS to same number. i begged the service provider like anything i dint get any solution. if anybody knows this please mail me on mansapartha@gmail.com.

I have been charged from a McAfee Internet security trial.
I registered, selected some buddies, then I wanted to know
where McAfee will find my phone if I  "accidentally" lose it at home
(it didn't), I clicked on track my phone now while on my account, and now
I have not only one but 15 SMS's sent to 6592324290 without my knowledge.
I uninstalled it and the problem disappeared, but I still have to pay for them......

I have told my Caller Company: "CBB " 6.december 2012, and they told me it
was a Singapore-number, and I must pay it at 27.december 2012 in Copenhagen Denmark.

I have called McAfee. This is their nunber in Singapore. If your phone crashes or for some reason Mcafee thinks there is an issue it sends a text message to this number with your information so your phone can be recovered. They do not have any US numbers so beware.

Very glad I found this discussion, as I have been getting this text charge on my Verizon phone for months now!  Verizon "researched" it, and said it's coming from your phone, not to it, so you have to pay.  WTH.  I thought at first it was a glitch, as in the past I have seen reoccuring messages being sent to/from without someone doing it (on Linux based phones).  Yes, I also have McAfee installed - nice of them to alert the customer.  I'm going to have a chat with them!

I have only been on my new cell for less than a week and have just checked my texts charges to find out that i have been charged 60 cent for 2 texts made to this number 659-232-4290 that i never made.  I did have mcafee installed and didnt like it so uninstalled it. This was on the second day i owned the phone and no more charges have occured since then. So im assuming this is what caused this problem, this is like theft stealing our money without our knowledge even tho i was only taken for 60 cents. Alot of other people have been taken for more and even a little adds up when your stealing from millions of people.

yep i also had random text messages to this nomber and now i have to pay for them i dont understan if we are in USA why dont they use a USA number to text since i have unlimited.. its retarted that mcafee makes random texts to this number just by me turning on and off my phone everytime it restarts ill send one out and its retarted and gets expensive after a while.. a text to singapore. they need to get this issue fixed asap .. i unistalled it because of this issue and i purchased a whole fam plan on this mcafee for 2 years and cant even use it because of it.

Being charged international text charges to this number.  I am not sending these texts. Verizon seems to no nothing about this problem.
