They called saying I needed to be in court friday in California, I live in KY. Said I had charges for fraud, theft by deception, and something about bank fraud. They had all my info. Said if I didnt get a lawyer and do show up in court i would be arrested by local police. Said the name of the place was "law firm". When I asked for a name and contact number he got hostile and wanted to know why I wanted such information. What should I do about this? He has called before. Its a foreign guy.

I got a call from a man today claiming he was David Brown. He said for me to call him immediately and if I didn't all he could do is wish me good luck. I have had calls like this numerous times. Someone has sold information to them when I made application for credit or loan. Not sure. This David Brown had such a terrible accent it was difficult to understand at best. Also when he is leaving the message and if he is a so called law firm you wouldn't be hearing people in the back ground like a call center. Never call them back. It is a scam.

I have received several call's at my place of business from these guys.  I have politely told them I can not help them.
Now they call and say s*** my ****, we will kill you, we will rape you.  I did the *69 and got the number.  I Googled the number it comes up a number in Kern County California.  I contacted Kern County police and they will be getting back to me and hopefully contacting the people.
The thing is the guys who call are eastern accent.
These people are invited into our country and given I assume some kind of work?.and this is their repayment to US Citizens?

LET ME A NASTY VOICEMAIL AT MY OFFICE THREATENING TO ARREST ME OVER A PAYDAY LOAN.

I had this 661-240-9175 call me, say he was steve something, couldnb't understand a word he said, and told me that if I didn't call back that all he could do " was wish me the best for my health, for what is about to unnfold on me... not to disregard but to call back immediately" This is very scary. I have no idea how they can do this, or what they want from me. I know of these scams because I had someone steal some of my infoa nd next thing I know I had so many calls about debt and luckily I was able to clear it up but dam what a hassel!!!!

This is a scam. They just try to get you to pay them money. You need to treat it like a ID theft case by calling police and filing reports with Credit Bureau. There is a federal investigation going on to crack down on these people. I was pregnant and got very scared when they were harrassing me. Ask them for documentation of the alleged crimes you are being charged with. They won't give you anything in writing because it's all bogus. They also won't accept a check payment via mail because their acceptance of that would be mail fraud.

Do your reading. It's a big problem right now.

Nothing...this is a scam...they call from various numbers and this recent number appears to be a new one...they can't do anything.  There are numerous posts about these people...they pose from various agencies...have a thick accent and read from a script.  Do not send them any money and do not give or confirm any personal information.  They will have your info, but don't fall for it.

They called my work said i had a pda with them and that they were filing a claim against me and that i was going to go to jail for fraud, money laundering , and writing a bad check..what do i do?
