The same thing happen to me this morning (4/7/2011). I called the number back to see what the urgent matter was about and the guy by the name of Kevin Johson hung up on me twice.  He refuse to give me any information.  He said I am in default on a payday loan for $300.00.  I told thim that I didn't take any loan out.  He said he'll see me in court.  I can't even get the name of the company that this call is coming from.

Yes, this sounds so familiar....my husband called the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION and DO NOT give any imformation.

I recieved a call from a guy who said he was a criminal attorney for Speedy Cash and that my husband has a warrant out for his arrest because he took out a payday loan and never paid it back. His name he used is DAVID COOPER. He had a foreign accent and made it sound really urgent that we call him to make arrangements before my husband was arrested.

We have never gotten a payday loan from Speed Cash. In fact I only use one company and they have nothing to do with Speedy Cash.  We are current with them so there is no reason for them to come after us.  The first payment is not due until April 22 so I don't know why I would have such threats.

This has to be a scam and I am not calling them back at 661-240-9237.  He calls the cell phone so they would of had to get it off line because I don't advertise my cell number.  I am just going to ignore the number from now on. I just wanted to report it.

I got a call from them today stating that they were going to be at my work on Thursday to pick me up. I had received this type of call about a year ago and they had said the same thing. And NOTHING happened. So they are fing IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had calls from this number also. Once you apply for a payday loan of any kind all these companies call you and say that you owe money. I filed for a payday loan ( which I paid ) and my cousin is an attorney. She told me when you apply for those the sites that have your info will try to call you and scam you into paying for a loan that you never received. She said they assume that people won't remember which Pay day loan they received and fall for their BS and pay them. Do NOT believe them!! They are usually foreign ( the agent ) and they are rude, and crass and they threaten you with laws that don't exist and that you will get fired from your job and more things along those lines to try and scare you into paying them.  If you get a call like this and you know that you don't owe money to a pay day loan  company then just hang up or don't answer.

They called me and I told them I had a pay day loan and I paid it in full and that I have the receipt. He asked me to see it, but I told him that I did NOT receive a loan with their company and I wasn't sending him private billing information. He threatened legal action and I told him to go ahead, bc I have the receipt for payment and that if he called me again I would sue him for harassment and fraud and he hung up. lol

I got a phone called from this number telling me that I had a legal matter against me from a payday loan company that I didn't contact and the guy was rude and hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to the attorney and he told me "No are you going to pay him"

I got the same message, exactly the same except he said his name was Officer Tom (something). I told this person the first time that he would have to show me proof of who I owed that money to. He couldn't even tell me how much this supposed loan was for, much less who it was owed to. I told him that I was not paying them anything because it sounded like a scam to me just to get my banking information for one, and to get payments from me!! I pisses me off to get these calls and then they threaten you which makes me even more pissed off!! And this call was made to me on my cell phone and then at my place of employment. Obviously, the places that you may have dealth with for these payday loans is selling your information to these scam artist. What a shame!!

Heard  Dateline NBC was going to do an investigation on these guys....

I am a certified paralegal and Roger Jones called me from this number. I called him back and some guy that sounded just like Roger Jones told me he was a paralegal. He proceeded to tell me that I needed to have my retained attorney of record call him that he couldn't talk to me and then he hung up on me. I called him right back and he told me that I had lied to him about being a paralegal. He told me that I would receive the legal paperwork within 24 hours. He didn't even know what company I supposedly owed this money too and he couldn't tell me. He said that it was one that I applied for online, whatever. I didn't get a loan from any of the ones he named off. I did get one but I paid it back. HE IS SUCH AN IDIOT. I know it is a scam and I told him that and he got very angry.

I have recieved calls from these people as of today! said that I owe some US National $986 for a $300 cash advance that I dont even have! He spoke with an accent also, stated his name was Frank Stanley with Legal Associates of California. He said I will be arrested this Monday, April 4, 2011. He would not give me an address at all.

I recieved 3 calls from this number back to back last night. They left two messages with the same information. Said he was Roger Jones and the me or my attorney should call him immediately with his direct hotline number. After reading all of this have realized that this isn't as bad as I thought and I will not be returning any phone calls. I will be reporting all of these to the proper authorities.

A lot of good information. And one more point: My cell phone has a nice feature which directs certain numbers straight to voice mail.  I can save up and record their threats, sending it to what ever law enforcement agency I need to.

If you have ever tried to do an internet payday loan and had a "company" tracking down "lenders" which is a third part site, that is exactly where they got all of your information. Those dirty dogs sold it to them.

These people called me today and gave me this same bull s*** line like they did to others,threaten me if i didnt give them money or they will have police come to my work and arrest me and all that crap.I just ignored them,figure its a scam.people beware of them.They will keep harrassing you until you do something.

I've been getting these calls at my job and now my fiance' is getting them on his phone. I don't know how in the world they got his number. It's been a year now. The local detective from our PD has already spoken directly with them a year ago and to no avail. The only advice I can see giving you is to not be afraid. You cannot be jailed for a debt real or imagined.
Disrespect Islam and Muhammad ( he was a pedophile in any case)  they don't like that either and the calls tend to be fewer and farther between. Mock them, call them numerous times as well. The calls have been less frequent for me now.
And yes, I am a good person and no, I don't owe anyone a debt. I stay away from that crap.

These same people have beem harrassing me for about a year now. I called the local FBI gency & reported the phone # & name they used. The FBI was already aware of them & stated that they are not in the US so it is hard to deal w/ them. Once I stared to ignore them & stopped returning their calls, they stopped bothering me.

A male caller with a foreign accent called my cell and left a threatening message stating I would need an attorney and if I did not call back I would be sorry.

I have been harrassed on a monthly basis from "Legal Associates" claiming that I owe money to a payday loan company. They want my bank account to satisfy the loan amount or face criminal charges for theft by deception. They said that payday loans are exempt from bankruptcy. I can get no where with these people and it is getting annoying!

These guys are very rude. They have very thick accents and yet one guy stated his name was "Mark Johnson". Says that he needs to hear from me or my attorney or there will be dire consequences.   He said "If you don't return this call...well I wouldn't want to be you". I called once and asked for the name of their company. He would not reply and continued to give me my email address and said that the following week some ploice would be at my place of employe to service me with court papers and escort me to jail pend court hearing.  I got upset and told them that I knew my rights and that it would not happen and to give me the name of the sueing party.  They are very well informed.  I do not know how they got my info and I am not happy about it.  I contacted the company they claimed the law sute was for and they declared that my account was not in legal process and informed me to contact the fraud department.
