Got a call to my work and my supervisor had taken it and wrote it down as a message to me before I came into work. Found out this is nothing but a scam. It is just like a call I got from a Shane Watson from Andrew and Cos Legal Associates.  I both of these calls the same day and a week before Christmas.  The guy I talke to at Andrew and Cos said I would bbe arrested if I didn't pay them $485. to clear the debt I owe.  I knew I didn't owe anything since the payday loans I did owe were already paid a few days before. They were places you walk into to get a loan.  hey don't go after you like this and they certainly don't hire Legal firm places to collect for them.  I don't know how they got my work number ( the both of them) but they haven't called back since.  I do have one of the calls in my voice mails that I have been saving in case I need to use it against them in a court of law.

I agree it has scared me also, and I figured it was a scam.   I went through the same thing.

I keep getting calls from this number 661-249-1374  they even call my work and my cell 5 times a day.  Finally answered tonight and this guy who I couldn't understand stated that their was a lawsuit put against with my social and that I needed my atty to call  him, stated I didn't have an atty and what this all about. He stated that it had to do with US Cash Leading Co., stated I didn't have any payday loans . He stated that I borrowed this money and that i needed to pay it back today 12-17-13 in the amt of $756.23 told him to give me the name of the atty which he stated the name was Austin Black and the number is 949-954-4364. I called the number and a girl answered stated I wanted to know what this is all about, she asked if I was a customer stated no, she asked were I got that number stated from 661-249-1374. Stated I would be arrested on Monday 12-23 and spend 36 months in jail if I didn't pay.   I know this is a scam!!!!   Turning them over to the FTC.

It is a scam!!!!! File a police report ASAP and make changes to your bank account and take a look at your credit report.

I received the same message. Whatever you do, do not give into their scam. I couldn't help but notice the the scam artist are foreign. It is very difficult to understand what they are saying have the time. I have received numerous calls from two different numbers, however they are the same people saying that they are calling from a law firm. IT IS BOGUS!!!!!! I received calls from 661 249 1374 and 605 983 6092.

This person called me saying that I was going to be arrested at my work if I did not pay them $489.00 for a American payday loan that I did not pay back.  I do not have a payday loan! They read me some "legal" papers that I could not understand and I asked them to send me the papers so I could read them for myself.   I was told that they would not be able to do that and that I would be arrest on Friday at my work.  I said I didn't understand because I did not have a loan and they yelled and said that I was just playing games with them and again I would be arrested.  My husband works for the sheriffs office and this is a scam.  Scared me and I almost sent them the money.  My daughter was with me at the time of the cal and got all upset.  She was crying because she thought I was going to jail.  This is a horrible scam.  I certainly hope this person is arrested.

Just got 5 calls in a row from "Calvin Cooper" and he refuses to quit calling my direct number. Unbelievable. As I told him, it's against the law to do this and it's harassment. I'll be filing a complaint with the consumer advocates as well. He threatened jail, lawsuits, and wouldn't say what it was for. Demanded to speak with my supervisor. Refused to let me speak to his supervisor. Called me names and said the police would be at my door shortly. Um, you couldn't even give me an address you had on file! Good luck with that.

Same thing happened to me when I applied for a payday loan.. I've gotten a million calls from places I've never heard of.. will never do that again!!!  I just don't pick up and block the numbers..

I had the same encounter with a calvin cooper. I filed a IC3 complaint form with the FBI. I would suggest everyone else do the same. it only takes a few minutes

Yep...got a call from this clown....indicated he needed to read an affidavit. Started off by saying "The Department of Crime Prevention". Wooooo....scary!  Preceded to read a bunch of "scary and legal-sounding" BS .  Woooo....scary! Also said to not be surprised if I'm picked up by "law enforcement". When the caller said that, I stopped him and stated that 1) To put all relevant information in writing and send to me at the address of record they have for any alleged complaint (and if they ask you what that address is...DO NOT TELL THEM. If they have a legit claim, then the address should be supplied). I then stated that due to the quality of the call and the fact that "you have an accent that I have difficulty in clearly understanding", I will only address this matter in writing so as to not have any misunderstandings.  Of course the caller tried to overtalk me while I was talking....I just continued talking and then stated that when I receive the information in writing, I would respond appropriately.  I then hung up.  They called my cell first and then my land line; I blocked their number on the Cell and will simply "answer and hangup" if they call my landline.

I just got a call from these @$$-hats stating that my co-worker had a legal matter pending against him and the he or his supervisor needed to call back ASAP.  Like I am going to believe some India speaking douche has the name John Smith....maybe he has been reading Stephen Kings Dead Zone.  I need to find a way to report these morons!!!

What finally happened for they are trying the same thing on me never heard of America cash much less took a loan out , freaked me out.

I just received a call at work saying that I got cash from America cash deposited into my account and I am going to be arrested if I don't pay it.  I have no idea what they are talking about. I am reporting this number.

Yes this is b***s***. they said it was the us attorney office and they said they are going to send cops to my work and job to pick me up.

Just got a cal from 661-249-1374....stated they were claling for one of my reps.  When I advised that she was out ill they asked to leave a message.  I asked who he was and he advised he was an atty with Victor Reed Law Firm.  i asked if they were calling about a client and they sd yes.  I advised him i could help him but he refused to tell me why he was calling.  I advised again that if this was a personal calls she is not allowed personal calls at work.  He then stated that my rep would be arrested in the morning and proceeded to hang up on me.  

i call back and asked for a supervisor and they hu on me.

I called back again and they hung up on me.  each time I call back they hang up on me or put me on hold for long periods of time.

Same things is happening to me like it has to all of you, f****ng crazy people. I don't even own checks let along use the bank account I have. I have identity theft of my accounts and I don't enter personal info online so how they got my number and or home number is beyond me. I will report them again and also start to state the legal facts to them about harassment.

I am getting calls and he is saying I will be getting arrested and will not get any more info?

I received phone calls from them at work. I told them that I was at work and I was busy. He said  well don't u think this is more important. Ur  being charged, I raised my voice and said I'm busy. I called them back on my break and a woman answered I gave her my name and she told me I had 3 charges against me. She was naming them off and said check fraud. I know that didnt happen and I told her I wasn't worried she repeated what I said then said fine I'm going to just send the police to me.

Calvin cooper keeps calling me leaving me threatening messages that are all similar to all the rest I have read. Said he was going to start calling my work. This is crazy. What should I do?

This bogus Victor & Reid Law Firm contacted me also. she stated that her name was Erica and she was a paralegal.  When asked what company she was representing she stated that there are over 800 organizations that they represent but could not state which one was included in the pending case againgst me.  I told her without any proof I would not divulge any information & she threatened to have the cops serve me with a warrant at my place of employment and I will have to pay $8000 in court and hung up. When I called back she told me not to call her place of business again, hung up and refused to answer as I repeatedly called.

Best thing for u to do is if u have a cell u can block them just look on menu . They will try to call u on different #s and if u dont recognize the number then its probably them just keep blocking dont give in to these scammers I dealt with them last year their just a bunch of losers that can't get a real job because their ugly or they don't have papers   a year later these people are still using the same name talk about stupid people

Caller sated his name was Shawn said that I needed it send them money or they would have me arrested. This is after they called me over 20 times today and I asked them to stop. I was looking into loans a company called me and they asked me to buy green dot cards? They said I needed to read them the numbers off the cards, I told them it was a scam and hung up. I am frustrated and I don't know what to do I feel like they are stalking me. They are intimidating and menacing.

My son just called me very upset. He received the same phone call and I called this number back. The man refused to give me his name and was horribly rude to me. When I said to him that this was the company that had stolen my son's identity he got furious. My son is working with the police department to get this resolved as this same company has pulled money out of his personal checking account. I believe it was under the name American Cash.

They called me at my work, how did they get my work number. Who are these people and what do they want. This is really unsettling. I just reported them as well.

Got call at my work from Jason white concerning legal matter.  Returned call and was told if I don't pay debt I will b arrested at my work for fraud because they where going to send it to the attorney general.  What recourse or how can I find out if this is true? It was American cash who I owed they said

I just received a call from John Smith (Very Original)  Asking for my attorney of record to call him.  If he does not hear from my attorney of record tomorrow I will be visited by the local police and arrested either at my home or my place of employment.  I gave him my attorney's name and number, and surprise...they want my attorney to contact them.  I ask that they stop calling and they called 5 more times.
