My son received a call from this number (661.328.6636) claiming to be a company checking on a job app that I supposedly sent (I did not).  They began asking my son personal questions about me and he asked what company they were and they said that is confidential.

Since moving to our current location I have been getting phone calls periodically for years wanting payment for a $12K debt that was incurred by someone with a similarly name.  EVERY TIME they ask if the last 4 digits of my social are "xxxx".  I tell them "No".  They ask if my birthday is "xx/xx/xxxx" and again I tell them "No".  One or two days later they call back again and ask the SAME questions.

I have asked them to please take me to court so that I can prove to a judge that I am not their quarry.  They never do this.  They just harrass innocent folks because they have no idea how to find the guy and my impression is that they will harrass me until I either pay or find the guy for them.

By the way, these "debts" are written off THEN sold to a debt collection agency for pennies on the dollar.  Legally, these debts are then owned by someone who has nothing to lose to harrass innocent folks until he sells the debt to another buyer who then repeats the harrassment.

I have been harrassed over this same issue for more than 10 years.

A law that prevents debt selling might be worth considering.
I would like to see some laws that would cripple the activities of these misfits.

A person called my husband asking for me saying I owed $32,000. She wanted our tax information. I called her and she didn't have a title, company, or business phone number to give me. I think this is someone fishing for information. When I confroted her about it she started screaming and I hung up on her.  A legitimate business would be able to tell you what exactly the call is about vs. what she told me.... We do a lot of things.

This woman Danielle called my sister-in-law and asked for me.  The only people who have my sister-in-law's number are job references and emergency contacts! If she has my sister-in-law's number why didn't she have my number????  Scam, scam, scam!!!!!!!!!!!

Strange young-sounding women saying her name was Danielle called my brother asking for me and then called me at work. Said her company (not identified) had my "account." She could not find my information on her computer before I had to go. She called back and left a message saying, "You want to settle this right away."
