I got this email after replying to a Craiglist buyer, Sandy Powell, loon42@gmail.com anderson2004darren@gmail.com

I really appreciate your response to my email. I want you to consider
it sold, Pls do withdraw the advert from CL to avoid
disturbance,anyway I don't have time to come over to take a look
because of my Business but you don't need to bother yourself with the
shipment, I'll take care of that by engaging the services of a
shipper, hence I'll be sending a Certified check and it will be
delivered to you via United Parcel Service (UPS), so I'll need you to
provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of
the check.

Full name on the check.
Full Physical address to post the check
City, State and Zip Code
Home & Cell Phone to contact you.

Note that the payment will be shipped to your address via UPS NEXT DAY
AIR SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be
responsible for shipping i will have my shipper  to come over as soon

I got a loon42@gmail.com email today.  I posted to Craigslist, and I got a message from an email: anderson2004darren@gmail.com.  When I responded to say it was available, the Sandy Powell and loon42 email address is who responded.  She wanted to send a certified check and pay a shipper. It was obviously a scam, especially due to the random grammar mistakes and odd capitalization of words in three middle of sentences, despite using really formal wording. Totally looks like a foreigner trying to  in English.  I did a Google search and this forum came up, which confirmed my suspicion.

Im glad i was able to read this before i was totally screwed but i was jus so curious on y someone would be this trustworthy to someone else but no as i can see it is a scam. I am indeed very very angry about this and will report it. Its also funny because i received a second check for the same amount, and this again came from a Sandy Powell with the email address as loon42@gmail.com. I will be headed to the police department first thing to report it...hopefully i can be the one to put this person where they belong. The check was in the amount of $2,600.00, and so far my dumba** only sent $200 to her or his shipper named Carole Case in Inman, SC 29349...and so when this person goes to email me to finish the transaction they will be in for a rude awakening.

I just had a loon42@gmail.com emailer as well asking about an item I posted on craigslist.  It really sucks all of these scammers are using gmail because I've had a gmail addy since it first started.  The email came from a denies.lewis11@gmail.com though and reply back email is the loon42.  I wouldn't mind a little vigilante karma on his a**.

I also got some texts from loon42abo claiming that I had an add on craigslist needing some work. Come to find out this person was linked to an add I posted on there to sell a truck part. I had given her my cell number to call and get more information on how she was going to pick up the part when she lived in California. They sent a fraud check for a large amount of money then with an excuse that they accidentally sent the wrong amount and to go ahead and cash the check, take out the amount she owed me, and send the rest of her cash to the shipper so he could pick up the truck part. I turned it into the sheriff and he looked into it and it's a fraud. He said more than likely out of the country, lots from Africa. Once you send them the money it's out of their jurisdiction and your out your money. If you keep recieving stuff from loon42abo or "Sandy Powell" turn it into the local law enforcement.

I'm getting IMs from loon42abo from an ad on craigslist now. He has bad english and I'm ignoring him so he thinks my phone is disconnected. Asking me if I  want too work for him wtf

Yes, this scumbag contacted me through Craigslist with a scam asking for a "home health aide". When asked what his phone number was, he responded that he was "deaf".  That's right, deaf to the calling of the soul to be something other than a parasite.  The emails he used were:

then   mattoch brittney <loon42@gmail.com>

If the FBI doesn't get him, his karma will.  Beware.

Someone called from this number and didn't leave a message.  Lately I've been getting weird calls from various numbers like these.  I think my personal information (and probably others' too) has been stolen and misused.

someone called once and than hung up around 6:30pm... I didn't try and call back.

The person with this phone number is involved with email scams and writes makes fake cashiers checks. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS PERSON!

This is from a scam/fraud company. google phone number 9154404100 and it will give you all the details.
We didnt find this out until after we spent half the day at the police station and bank.

Said she was a model and sent pics of a sexy woman. After speaking a couple times she wanted to come live with me and needed $800 for a plane ticket from London to US. This was all conversations online. I assumed it was a scam but played along and said it would be a few weeks before I could get the money. I asked her to call and number showed up on caller ID I noticed it was a CA. area code. She still said she was in London wanting money to get to US. Finally I called her out on it. She called from that number four days in a row. Every time I called it back it said it was disconnected.

Actually, I think they are really calling from Jamaica, probably using VOIP internet calling technology to hijack a phone in Bakersfield, CA.

She  wanted money for visa-passport said it ws $170 then the price jumped to $300.I knew she ws a scammer but not like this untill I read thease.

I keep getting a call from an Indian man who starts out by asking for me by my first name.  He calls my place of work too.  Saying I need to repay a payday loan.  I don't have a payday loan.  I don't know how he got my personal information.  He has called 3-4 times a day for 3 months now.  I have no payday loan.

yeah, I've received 4 calls recently from that number. I haven't picked up any of them and I haven't responded. Good to know that it's a bogus call.

Just got a call from this number at 715am this morning.  Didn't answer and thanks to you guys won't ever!  Very creepy stuff and I wish these jerks could be caught!

I also received many calls..most of them ignored.. crzy creepy background I say. can't understand what it says.

I got a call from this number today. He contacted me from a dating website, sent another persons picture. I confirmed my fears when he called today and he sounded like an African, but his picture is of a white man.  These are legitimate pictures of real people who probably don't even know that their pictures are being used.  Thank God for the internet. Please let us keep putting the word out there on them and maybe this will help stop them.  He said his name was Morgan Bill or Bill Morgan. Here is his e-mail address he used Morganbill@yahoo.com  He was on the Established men website. This is the only way to stop them.  Ladies beware. Thank you all for your input.

I had responded to an ad from the terrificpet.com wanting more information about a French Bulldog.  He told me that he can ship the dog out asap, all he needed was the money to be sent through western union or money gram.  When I had asked about a secured payment through paypal that option was not available.  I told him I need I'll get back to him since I was not going to send the money unsecured.  The  funny thing is this guy could hardly understand English, the number for me to return his call was not the same number as the one which showed up on my caller ID, and last when I confronted him on the numbers being different, he freaked out because he knew that I knew he was trying to scam me.  He quickly hung up the phone.  I advise everyone to be super cautious of any number from 661.  Do not let them play you for a fool.
