I got the same sort of message from this SMS number this moring only minutes after posting on Kijiji.  Wanted to pay 50% extra by PayPal right away, same c***'n'bull story about a daughter's gift.  Told him to cool his jets and Googled this number: 661-513-3285.  This is how I came upon your lovely forum.  Avoid any dealing whatsoever with anyone using this story, number or exhibiting this type of behavior.  Buy and sell to locals.

Got a call from this number saying if I wired 250.00 to him Western Union within the next 15 mins I would receive a 5000.00 loan.  He said the 250 is a security deposit and would be refunded once they could see I could make my monthly payments.  So once I send this 250 to them that I would wired 5250.00 15 mins after I sent the 250.  When I asked him for a conformation email, he then started asking me what other numbers have called me offering me money.  I asked him why he needed those numbers he said it was because people in India were scamming money from people.  Again I asked for a conformation email, he persisted that I give him any other numbers that were offering me money.  Now the funny part is when you call that number back, it says the magic jack customer you are trying to reach is unavailable.   BEWARE FOLKS!!!

This fool thought I would simply ship my stuff to his daughter in Africa,  what a smoe, this dude is bad news  suggest everyone stay clear.

i got a text re an add on either craigslist of kijjiji, same as others, person offered $100 more than asking to ship to daughter for Christmas in western africa

Just got a SMS from this guy about an ad on kijiji. Wanted me to ship item to western Africa. I said no thanks local only.

Samething here, Same number, he offered me $150 more from what I asked for an ad on craiglist, wanted me to send it to his daughter on Nigeria. He made a pending payment from paypal, a scam too. Because paypal writes to you with, Dear John Doe not Dear jDoe@yahoo.com. Because paypal knows your name he doesnt. He wanted the shipping expressed mail. When I asked him to send first the shipping money he said I included it already but its pending until you have the tracking number. Then I replied no shipping money no package. I asked him to call me to what he replied I can't now, my phone is banned. So I told him go scam someone else with your banned phone. You are dealing with the wrong guy I'm a police detective. And he never replied back.

Same as above.  KJIJI scam.  Don't ever reply to texts from strange area codes.  I told him off in 4 text messages before I realized I was being charged for each!

Scammer on Kijiji wanted paypal email --WATCH OUT!

I got a text from the same number today saying they would  pay me 300$ for my phone that I was asking 150 for and wanted me to send it to west Africa for them. Good thing I researched !
